Obsessions
Just like a wind they whirl and blow,
Sweeping our hearts just in a flow.
Pretty things by pretty fingers,
Around whom desire lingers.
Leaving rotating eyes behind,
Which nothing but a glimpse can find,
They bounce along in catty paws,
But still escape on-lookers’ claws.
They float on, with firm powdered chicks,
And give our hearts a thousand flicks.
Then we put faces on our minds,
And sit where hope and joy combine,
To spend a whole day just thinking,
Wishing they are before us blinking,
And gracing us with their beauty,
Which we wish could be their duty.
But with their jolly little bodies,
They stay within and make no budges,
But keep watch with pretty smiles on,
Leaving we dreamers all forlorn.
