SOUPER NOVA

SOUPER NOVA

I had never thought it was a community
As I just entered contests with impunity
But across all the cultures, there’s unity
Unique angles offered from each nation
As a regular vistor, I sought inspiration
But in the end, both discipline and fun

From supportive critique, no immunity
But for poetry, always an opportunity
Even when it has challenged credulity
Both left and right brains help creation
Then make a submission in anticipation
As it can even be like an exploding sun

Contest titles may need a muse you see
Yet desite that, there’s still hope for me
A souper, with some remaining modesty
Always hoping for increasing integration
I can browse the site for the information
To be a souper nova for any contest won

Premium Member Nova wears Heaven's crown

morning meets a nurse of caring
for many years,
an aide who's burying
some unknown fears,
a neighbor's kitten
Nova left strewn
said--bury in--garden
where Pansy's grew-in.

life's roads all lives got
when life forgot and ought not
life's care for lives share

Vita Nova

Poets see verse in every moment
beauty with every look
Pain for every step misplaced
scars that words prebook

Poets see light within the darkness
music in the dread
Hope when wishes cross the line
—life to those once dead

Species Nova

"Species Nova"

A letter from Horace
today, I read,
he sends his ample
split dichotomy

he’s a writer with
novel ambitions
to shake the world
of reality up a little

make his mark
he will be read
poets are extraordinary
creatures, when extracting

charms and chimaeras
out from their heads
but isn’t that life?
my over self said

sic vita est
sine loco
ars poetica
species nova

from the place of
nothingness emerges
fromless evolution
in laureate nature

stet ante bellum
sine loco
ars poetica
sic vita est

(LadyLabyrinth / 2022)

"He can be lofty sometimes,
yet he is also full of ...

charm and grace,
versatile in his figures,
and felicitously daring
in his choice of words..."

Stagnant Star

I feel just like a stagnant star
Bold and beautiful,
But can’t get far.
My eyes are shining
With unshed tears
My heart radiates the heat
Of long-held fears.

My soul brushed With touches of gold
But to humankind they’ve naught been told.
A Star, indeed, yet stuck so-
Ready to bloom into Divinity, ready to grow
Into a shining Nova that consumes every other star
But consequences allow that I will not get far.

Super Nova

The phenomenon, as it manifests itself over the course of a journey.
It turned me into an Orion in the form of rudimentary
When life’s trying to surpass me,
I suffice against suffrage and then I see

I strive for change, living in the Trans Lunar.
My body is here on Earth, but my mind is elsewhere.
Vigorous belief in the morning star
I ducked, crawled, and hid in things and behind.
I was laughed at, hated, and blind.

My heart is broken as a lost child,
 but my intuition tells me not to give up.
It turned out to be ironic because
of where I was sitting. and I stand up.
I defy the prophecy of a wiry-breaking tongue.
in chaos for the poor child, Angels sang

I take my deterioration in appreciation.
From slavery, I built, in my own mind, a nation.
My eccentricity should not be dejected.
It's now a useless iron that can't be dedicated.

My time is now. I am in for an overwhelming delight.
The purpose of my life gave me strength for the fight.
Here I stand in front. I am the supernova.
It begins the story of my life. It’s not over

As quasar mixes the starry dust,
a newly formed planet en route’s a must;
new universes revealed beyond black holes
captivating stories are yet to be told.

Tiny newborn sails saturnian seas,
a Venus flyby in Saggittarius is a breeze;
absolute magnitude in glimmer sails on by,
soon new space he will occupy.

Whoops!  Now dodging meteor shower,
a bruise or two won’t slow his power;
he’s on his very own spiritual quest
for new horizons where he will rest.

He’ll take his place amid the fold,
his travel stories yet to be told;
to tinier planets that he will meet,
he’ll even brighten eclipsing binary.

He’ll take his place in man’s Ephemerides,
oh the astrologers he’ll guide with ease;
to alter man’s future by their birth stars,
providing them with fascinating memoirs.

No planet in any galaxy,
will mess with this star’s alchemy.
He’s on a mission, this tiny young one,
his planetary cycle for millennia will run.

When you spy him there in your glass eye,
be sure to shout, “Hello, Goodbye”,
as he races across your galaxy,
you’ll marvel at his pageantry.

To feed off rain

                                   Then live on pearls again.

                                      Silent echoes melting,

                                    Whispered lips releasing

                                        Music’s primal song.

                                              Silence.

                                      Punching holes within

                                      The fabric of our lives.

                                        Transparent skin,

                                       Translucent words.

                                            Nova Stars,

                                              Like we,

                                       Explode with Love.

Nova Stella

I walk in the lapse of starlight sent
Before tonight was set
And numbered and named for
Forgotten gods framed
Against a darkened  sky

In the distance you can hear
The sounds of the Nova’s lament
The White dwarf tear’s from
Another souls heaven
Its rain has nowhere to fall

Now I’m ninety solar masses and I grow as I accrete
all the inter-stellar gasses near my neighbors when we meet.
My doctor says I’ve grown too fat too fast, “… it’s unsustainable!”
But I’ve big plans for a big blast that I know is attainable:

I’ll do the Supernova Bossa Nova, watch me when I blow.
Let’s do the Supernova Bossa Nova and host a cosmic show
for galaxies both near and far, a dazzling dance display,
and I’ll blow a smoke ring where we are here in the Milky Way.

My hydrogen will all have fused and soon I will implode,
that's inward, I’m an introvert, but watch my shell explode.
My core will keep on shrinking ‘til a blackhole is created,
a wormhole linking to a world where dance is venerated.

We’ll do the Supernova Bossa Nova, watch me when I blow.
You can blame the Bossa Nova but let’s all enjoy the show!

A Nova Mulher

A Nova Mulher

Hoje e sempre
de muitas maneiras,
a mulher  faz cada vez mais;
controla seu próprio destino.

Não é o que acontece agora
ou o que aconteceu no passado
que determina a mulher
que se torna.

É aquilo que faz agora,
hoje e sempre
que vai te levar
a se tornar,
a pessoa que você decide ser.

Decida ser,
faça mais e mais
conquiste o seu mundo...

A Nova Mulher

A Nova Mulher

Hoje e sempre
a nova mulher ousadamente,
afirma seu direito de trabalhar,
de empreender e viver, livre das restrições
que governam as gerações anteriores.

Hoje e sempre
de muitas maneiras,
a mulher  faz cada vez mais;
e controla seu próprio destino.

Não é o que está acontecendo agora
ou o que aconteceu no passado
que determina quem você se torna.

Hoje e sempre
faça mais e mais
se torne a pessoa
que você decide ser.

Portapique and Nova Scotia

Portapiqué and all
Nova Scotia, you will hurt
For a long, long time
In deep sorrow of
What has happened in your lives…
Never knowing why.

Your burden is huge.
Yet, when you teeter…
We will bear you up.

Mountain sunshine, take my hand;
 Wrap your warmth around my shoulders;
Slip your arm within my arm;
 Dance in my eyes as on sparkling waters;
Warm my heart to grow as columbine.

Mountain moon, weave me a gown;
 Cast in my spirit a summer night serene;
Braid my hair with silver ribbons;
 Give my face your harvest glow;
Let me too reflect the sun’s light.

Mountain rains, wash my heart clean;
 Fill up each day with tender grace;
Create in me a wellspring of peace;
 Give me the melody of rushing rivers;
Let me share the joy of rambunctious raindrops.

Mountain wind, give birth to my soul;
 Shake the dust off of my feet;
Sing me songs of rustling leaves;
 Give me the words to a snowstorm lullaby;
Send my feet to greet the dawn’s light.

Mountain stars, give me your dreams;
 Diamonds that twinkle to wear for a ring;
An open heart for a wishing star;
 Shining dreams to hold in the night;
Make my life a heavenly nova.
