Premium Member SOLAR SYSTEM SURPRISE

New plane called PLANET GHETTO
Scientist didn’t expect and know nothing about
Telescopes had no effect in sighting
Mars said, “Don’t look here”
The Milky Way responded, “Don’t even come our way”
The Moon stated, “Don’t even think about it”
What do these planets know about Planet Ghetto that we don’t
I certainly won’t perpetuate
A planet that became a create
Planet Ghetto appeared out of nowhere in space
Not much to say
Don’t bring any Earth waste
Being new to the Solar System
In fact, all the planets are protesting that they don’t share the solar system with anyone
NASA says beware with care, and they must study more for sure
Planets have made history with stories
There are still some mysteries
Planet Ghetto certainly is a surprise
No one had any idea nor realize
Unknown element in the principle
Planet Ghetto distance far
You won’t even find any car
Don’t expect to look like Earth
Planet Ghetto being a new birth
No comparison to Earth.

Premium Member THE CURSE

Being the image
Non-existence
Unimaginable
The ignore
Dead, but still living
Forgotten one
The never knew
No cause having no effect
Loss in the unknown darkness
Born but never seen
Skies wonder
Hearts hardened
A curse revealed
Unreversed
The curse stands

IF ANYTHING

IF ANYTHING

If anything, I must stop it right now
Well before it grows and dominates
I should never have tempted the fates
With low hanging fruit on the bough

If anything, it was never my intention
It is the birth of pride, and so strong
And will start to take over before long
As the mind succumbs, as is convention

If anything, a temptation I must reject
Yet it is so seductive, as it looks at me
It swells inside, deserving no sympathy
Smiling, as mere humility has no effect

If anything, I’d prefer that it was gone
As I have seen what such pride can do
It’ll be good for me, but also for you
At least it’s something to think upon

Positive Transformation

O how had I always fallen back;
With days full of retrogressions, alack!
I was degenerate;
Surely a youth of no notable rate.
My existence was like an ungodly song
With defiled rhythms was it sung
Wherewith I dreamed no dream
And saw no, not a gleam

For there was no light in me to reflect;
So my star could take no effect.
I was consumed by the darkness
Of mundane blissfulness,
Which was deceptive to inward madness.
I thought I was living happily;
Alas! I was dying virtually,
Forgetful that Life could wane out for itself alone
And hand over me to my Maker whom I never knew.

But there came an hour
At the Annual National Campus Community Congress
Of the Deeper Life campus fellowship
Entitled `Excelsior`
For bringing Life and Hope to intellectuals
And equipping them to reach the utmost height:
Where I wholly got transformed.
I was taught to be purposeful, and not lust to be conformed
I could then soar to the farthest height
And ignited became my light
Revived to live for Christ the Saviour
After which I farewelled failure.

Premium Member The Manic Phases

Sometimes I am a shadow

Casting images upon a wall

Having no effect on life

A curiosity to all

Sometimes I am a rock

Moved by others pain

At times like this I wonder at the thought

That I am insane

Sometimes I am an animal

Drifting along at whim

Doing things without a thought

Of love of life or limb

At times you think you know me

At times you know you don’t

Just remember I am all me

Even when I won’t

Premium Member Fourth Watch

Now far offshore and beaten by the waves,
into the wind, they pulled to no effect.
The choppy seas, enough to quell the brave,
lept o’er the gunwales, merciless, unchecked.

He came to them, the fourth watch of the night;
not recognizing him, they were dismayed.
Thinking a ghost, they cried out at the sight.
Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.

Then Peter answered, Lord, if it is you,
command me, Walk, and I will come on out,
walked on the water till his fear broke through;
O you of little faith, why did you doubt?

Then, making far more progress than before,
with Christ aboard, they pulled for the far shore.

It's Not Like It's Their Job

The smell is overpowering
My lungs, screaming for one
   for just one
       breath of fresh air

With prayers unanswered,
They are engulfed in
    yet another load
     of these odorous toxins

The odorous toxins
   of humanity
Being burnt to the crisp

While communities start
blaming one another
Turning on one another

The powers encouraging the riots
Where are they?
Those powers?
Where are they when we need them most?

Hiding away
Protected by the security of money
Our country's money
My country's money
That they stole!
How could they do that?
And leave us to fight for ourselves?
They are meant to be saving us
But why are they not?
Why they are not;

Why would they fight for something
That has no effect on them
It's not like it's their job to protect us anyway

Premium Member Spiraling Down

Professor Bridges and Senator Hawley
Had an exchange they both scored as a win.
One thought the other was being transphobic;
The other pushed back on supposed pregnant men.

I’m not here to argue one way or the other;
What I find appalling is both thought they won,
And all of their posturing, each for their bases
Has no effect, and convinces no one.

I think we are way past any reconciling.
The treaties are shredded; there’s no middle ground.
Where it’s all headed is hard to conceive of
But I get a strong sense we’re spiraling down.

Premium Member And God Said

Breath expelled, sound shaped,
    words uttered, issued forth.

Aim, intent, lurk within,
    plain or thinly veiled.

Waves crash on listening ears;
    some or no effect results,
    some or no response.

Undergirding all,
    a proposition,
    a statement true or false.

"Fire!" called out in a theatre.

The building burns;
    evacuate now!

Many will get up,
    walk out,
    and be saved.

The building is or is not on fire;
    a hero or villain is disclosed.

The Father reveals.

The Son conveys
    through gracious acts.

The Spirit opens ears,
    hardens hearts.

If Jesus is hauled,
    sputtering and drowning,
    into the boat,
    does "Fear not, I am with you!”
    engender faith?

Premium Member Infatuation Versus Love

Infatuation
Is when you scrutinize somebody
Strikingly illustrious
Love
Whenever you recall them
Aren't flawless
Decidedly, it has no effect.

This Is Who I Am

You will never fit in! is my everyday alarm .
My emotions so hackneyed to that venom
That like water off a duck's back has no effect.
Hide away they tell me, because we cannot bare to look at you

The dark has become my companion, the citadel of refuge to whom I can always flee so that I'm invisible to many.

Wherever I am, I try so much to be the ghost,
Unnoticed and invisible.
Because if I am noticed I know that like a thousand arrows the words will stab me to death
Before I realise it.

They say I love the mirror
but that is not the case
I am trying to identify, to spot,
To analyze what you say is wrong with me.
What you tease me of!
But sadly I cannot seem to find it
I shall not cease to look in the mirror
Maybe one day I shall see it too
But for now I AM BEAUTIFUL THE WAY I AM.

Dry

they live in an iron nest
under a back window

they have begun to dream
the way threadbare drapes will
in too much sunlight

scorched by sky
blooms crumple like straw hats
reach up bent by an internal smolder
as if the air were a cistern

but the sky is a dry bed today

sprinkled water has no effect
i expect to see stringy stems
swell into firm aqueducts

but the newly doused droop the more
as if water were a flame
in a beached throat

Suffocation

Breathing is affected today.
We're feeling like a shortage of adequate breath.
No, it's not for the closeness of lovers,
or not for their instincts awake,
but the bell of death.
It is ringing all over the world,
we are about to fall.
Though we had fallen before from humanity,
but now it has no effect to feel sorrow, feel guilty at all.
Once we have hurt our mother Earth.
No, she is not taking revenge,
mothers' are always merciful,
but she is giving her moron children a good amount of learning,
by which their behavior can be changed.

Animal Embassy

A porcupine, an owl and a beautiful iguana
Were among the creatures that I got to see;
And no, I wasn’t dreaming it or smoking marijuana –
Every animal was real as it could be.

For my grandkids were invited to a show with all these creatures;
There were also frogs and tortoises and snakes.
It was wonderful to see, up close, exotic facial features,
Some of which resulted in some double-takes.

Both my grands were quite enchanted and were brave enough for petting,
Gently stroking certain reptiles’ backs or shells
And I joined in their enthusiasm, somehow, though, forgetting,
Age has no effect on Nature’s magic spells.

*Animal Embassy is a program founded by naturalist Chris Evers,
which connects people with live, exotic animals.
