Premium Memberfrom hillbillies to beach bums

We were hillbillies when we lived in the north
But now that we are Floridians, we have to come forth
Admit that we love wearing pajamas and nighties all day
When I go outside, my attire scares the alligators away

Now we are known as beach bums, which is okay by me.
I can sit on a beach and eat crackers, and drink lemon tea
Not only in the summer, but in the winter and fall too.
I love living here with the rednecks, Trump true.

I like my mumu, can wear it outside to garden or water ski.
Since I am in my seventies, no one says anything to me.
I became invisible a few years ago thanks to my age.
Wow! We had two inches of water according to this little gauge.

I have new friends now, we play bridge and use walkers too.
Eat all the rich foods, some of us weigh two hundred and two.
Our waistbands are elastic, there are crocs on our feet.
Come over for some goodies the next time you want to eat.

Premium MemberTightie Whities

What should I write, what do you think
How's about tightie whities
The kind that get most women all worked up
Divesting themselves of their nighties

Even if you plead you have a headache
She's in no condition to listen
Those tightie whities are driving her crazy
Down below she starts goin' fishin'

All of a sudden your headache disappears
Now it's you who's all gung ho
You yell out “tally ho ride 'em cowboy”
She screams bloody murder “woo ho”

That continues for about thirty-eight seconds
Then collapsing exhausted on the floor
You scream out “got a cramp in my leg”
She yells, “want more, want more, want more!”

Think to myself that's the very last time
It's polka dot boxers from now on
Tightie whities will be the death of me
At my age, I ain't got that long

Ha... a fairy tale!!!

Scarcely had dawn lit the town…
Nighties hugged tight around…
Onlookers at an overnight transformation…
Winter wonderland’s aspiration!

People light the fire and consider…
Let others go outside and take risks.
Only those truly dedicated few
Understand and act on loving neighbours, through
Getting everything prepared as they go…
Heavy clothing to protect from snow, they
Shovel roadways with their ploughs…

Premium MemberHumor Air Condtioner Broke

Do they have souls of their own?
That break and let us perspire and moan?

I just want to leave this steaming town.
Those AC’s, such insensitive clowns.

They wait happily till it gets to be in the nineties.
They happily break and you sleep in sweaty nighties!

These devilish demons cost us plenty money.
But in hot climates, are as sweet as the best honey!

Premium MemberThe Clothes Line

The laundry on the line is dancing in time
to a wind whipped tune in early June
it tosses and turns, it whooshes and whirls
around and around in a yard before noon.

As clothes gayly flow, with pink socks in tow
the magic of the cool breeze surrounds
while bold colored shirts flirt with frilly skirts
the gossip from lace nighties abounds.

Sweet dresses sway and swiftly sashay
‘round blue jeans and tee shirts alike
they flip and they flap, they jitter and snap
as the wind crescendos and spikes.

Sheets fill up and fluff in billowing puffs
‘til the breeze takes a break and rests
“hands” then appear to put an end to the cheer
and the clothes slump and know they must rest.

In all of my days, of this simple display
I had never imagined or thought
that a view from afar, a clothes line in a yard
could bring pleasure that cannot be bought.

Grays On Parade

out to walk
my dachshund and me
a gray streak is all you see
passersby in daily parade
me, the dog and gator aide

silver haired streams
seniors roam
travelled trails lead from the home
pastel processions in vestal white
naughty nighties in plain sight

minus a mass
memory lapse
bathroom breaks and after naps
seniors pass in parade
dashing like a barefoot brigade

Premium MemberMia's Fallow

A frustrated housewife called Mia
Wore nighties so skimpy and sheer
There’s no roll in the clover
Hubby snored and turned over
His impotence is her greatest fear

Yesterday I saw a pic of actress Mia Farrow and had a bit of fun with the word play with her name

Premium MemberIce Cream In Vegetable Soup

Got an ice cream cone in one hand
While typing with the other
Ice cream creates contented old seniors
Drooling on our nighties as we hover

Isn't ice cream meant just for kiddies?
Wow! That surely isn't the case
Old folks can down a chocolate sundae
Beg for more with a messy face!

Maybe it makes us feel younger
Or it's simply just a treat
As we lick away like happy spaniels
A sensation that can't be beat!

Really not shy about our craving
We'd fight for another scoop
There are many other ways to try it
Imagine ice cream in vegetable soup

So stay away from older folks
When they're lining up for some
They'll shove you and step on your face
For a scoop of butterscotch rum!

After Forever

Red lips taste sweeter
Than the chapped skin
Of the mother of your children.
Perfectly coiled curls
And low-cut silk nighties
Slip easily through your fingers
While your wife changes a diaper
And sings your oldest to sleep
The same way she has since Dad left.
    He’s only six.
    The baby’s two.
        They’re old enough.
    Old enough for their father
    To leave them behind?
        Stop trying to guilt-trip me!
    I shouldn’t have to.
She still wears her ring,
Like some day you’ll change your mind
Or she’ll wake up from her nightmare.
    Daddy’s not coming.
    Daddy can’t make it.
    Daddy’s busy.
    It’s not your fault, baby.
Your wife cares for the family
You let fall to pieces
Like the marriage you swore
Until death did you part.
    Not death.
    Until her.
       Don’t blame her for this.
After forever,
Your wife sends your children to school
And you watch them grow
Through your cell phone.

Garage Roses, a Rhyme For Valentine's Day

Bitter spinsters in their nighties
Wedding rings of bright pyrites
Unrequited youthful crushes
Unwise lusts, unwanted blushes
Teddies trapped in pink balloons
And endless loops of sickly tunes
In the garden, badly hidden
Garage roses on the midden

Pisces' Peaces

The eyes of March are always watching me
Though scattered from a constellation past
Oh March only you know my history
The stars maintain victory from the blast
When I could not find you in the Pisces
I figured your airy scent wanted more
So I slept twenty-one days in nighties
When I awoke there he was at my door
There was peace, There was air and no more lies
I knew the three of us would meet again
Knock, Knock, the door, and March to my surprise
For one whole year I lived no peace within
But now two days from today we can say
No more Pisces, just an Aries' birthday

Patients Dilemma

Its breakfast time
On ward B1
Wonder what they have
To fill our tum.

Cereals or porridge
He says without a smile
Croissant today
No toast for a mile

So croissants we have
With butter qnd stuff
Ate them with gusto
Is one enough?

But why oh why
Do the crumbs always fall
Into our beds
Our nighties as well

They make us itch
As though we have fleas
But if they say have another
We'd all say "Yes please""

But tonights the night
Fish and chips for all four
Ate with our fingers
Then sleep and a snore.

Childhood Memories

When we think of you our faces light up
Memories flood through us of happiness
Snuggling against you, listening to you breathe
Our hearts beating gently in time

Your lap is warm from little bottoms
Your arms strong and safe around us
Our eyes bright with laughter
Your hair glistening in the sun

Your voice is soft and smooth
It washes over us with tales of adventure
You kiss us with soft lips, pulling us close
Tell us how much we are wanted.

Little bodies topped and tailed
On a bubble covered draining board
Wrapped in fluffy towels by the fire
Our nighties warming on the hearth

Long walks in the woods with picnic baskets
Dandelion blooms toppling from overfilled buckets
Wellington boots and bread for the ducks.
Planting kisses on scrapped knees and elbows
Wiping away our tears, telling us it would be ok

Tying pretty ribbons into our plaited hair
Our clumsy fingers taught knit one pearl one
All these things you have undertaken
With endless patience and immense love

Thank you for making our childhood so happy
