Mother's hand

A mother’s hands are a child’s first home,
Where life’s gentle journey begins.
Through tears and tiny steps, her love guides the way,
Her voice calming every fear.
A light in the heart that never fades.

The miracle of birth alone
For unto you can only be known
Now your arduous journey has begun
Like a flower blossoming under the sun
The pain and emotions you go through and endure
A love unsullied and so pure
And the source of strength you somehow derived
Till your new born arrived
For unto one’s life is born another
There is no love greater than that of a mother

A person one loves

Mom of one and all that strives
O'er and under the bed who searches for you
The one that lits the candle
   and sleeps with you
Honor thy Mother for life
Even without lost pictures
or unknown origin of life that bow
Remember who you are

From her, you survived and lived
  what you are and how
On and off the roads you hop and grow
Reels of trials and challenges you blow

Life lived with or without a mother
In your heart you needed a sister or a brother
Forever a memory you keep and live by
Every night and day you ask, "Why?"

Mother figue

Mother Earth breathes life into us
She is the mother of all mothers
She is the almighty

A Mothers Love From Heaven

?The world feels a little more quiet today,
Without your voice to lead the way.
But I look to the sky, to the soft morning light,
And know that you’re watching, far out of sight.
?Though I can’t reach out and take your hand,
Or walk beside you across the land,
I feel your warmth in the breeze that blows,
And the steady love that only a mother knows.
?You’re in every memory, every smile I wear,
A beautiful spirit, beyond any compare.
Today I’ll remember the life that you led,
And all of the kind words you ever had said.
?So Happy Mother’s Day, up in the blue,
Until the day I’m back home with you.
I’ll hold you close in my heart, deep and true,
And live every day as a tribute to you.

Mother's Day today
honoring the best there is
to love and be loved

On This Day

Do you celebrate yourself today,
Remembering the birth
Of your child or children when they first
Drew breath upon the earth?

Or, instead, do you reflect upon
The one within whose womb
You developed ‘til the day your body
Craved a bit more room?

Or possibly, it’s neither
And your thoughts are drawn to those,
Like an aunt or grandma, whose embrace
Did tenderly enclose.

No matter whom you think about
When Mothers’ Day rolls ‘round,
I hope the spirit of the day
Within you does resound.

On Tuesday, it’s paracentesis;
at least that’s the going in thesis.
It would be quite cool
if they found a pool,
and her pressing discomfort then ceases.

On Wednesday, it’s time to convene
for round two of gemcitabine;
with Ativan raging,
though she’s quite engaging,
we’ll leave before causing a scene!

The grands have come over to play,
and dinner looks downright gourmet.
There’s no need to borrow
the trials of tomorrow;
Instead we’ll rejoice in today!

Although her soul and body
no longer earthly bound
The words my Mother spoke to me
have now become profound

She had no fame or money
but now I understand
Her riches came in wisdom
like the countless grains of sand

There for My Firsts - HAPPY HEAVENLY MOTHER'S DAY
Kevin Davis 2024

Someone gave me my first kiss and made me feel love at first sight,
Someone gave me my first hug and made me feel warm inside.
Someone dried my first tears and stopped the pain I felt,
Someone knew what made me feel good making me feel just right.

Someone cleaned me inside and out and made me feel so right,
Someone made me feel safe and calm all my terrible frights.
Someone cared enough for me to anticipate all of my needs.
Someone was my very first playmate and taught me so many things.

Someone shared with me their wisdom, teaching me right from wrong.
Someone’s very gentle guidance saw that I grew very strong.
Someone taught me to believe in my dreams, encouraging me to soar,
Someone’s love was a strong beacon and will be there forevermore.

Someone was always there for my many first things, both day and night.
It was always you Mom, you knew just how to treat me so very right

Everything I Became Began in Your Hands

Before the world learned how to pronounce my name,
you whispered it into the dark
like a prayer afraid of being overheard.
You stitched mornings together
with the thin thread of your patience—
tea boiling over, uniforms drying late,
rent waiting at the door like bad weather.
I thought childhood was effortless.
I did not see
how often your hunger
sat quietly beside mine
and chose silence.
Your palms smelled of turmeric, soap,
old books, rainwater,
and the iron scent of sacrifice.
When I failed,
you did not offer speeches.
You simply moved closer
and made grief feel smaller.
Even your anger
was another form of shelter—
a storm standing guard
outside a fragile house.
I left home
with borrowed courage
that was yours all along.
Every applause I have received
carries the echo of your sleepless nights.
Every room that welcomes me
was first opened by your refusal to quit.
People congratulate me
for climbing so high.
They do not know
I have been standing
on your invisible shoulders
my entire life.
And if history remembers me kindly,
let it write this in bold letters:
whatever shines in me
was lit by my mother first.

Just a day? I hear you say,
‘What of the other days
When I put on their P.Js?’

Though certainly they endear
It’s much to persevere,
How 'bout we make it a year!

Morning sunshine is bright like her love
Onyx hair streaked with wisdom gray
Turquoise sky blessed from God above
Honoring every mom on her special day
Even if your mom is in heaven do know
Red love like roses bloom despite demise
Smile as she did and continue to grow

Do look up remember her words so wise
Amethyst prayers and silver scripture true
Yellow wishes a happy Mother’s Day too

“Mommy!” a daughter asked her mother…
as she sat atop her knee…
“Do you know when it was…you fell in love with me?”

“I’’m going to let you in on a little secret.” Her mom smiled
“And I swear that this is true…for as long as I can remember…
I’ve been in love with you.”

“The idea of you was always in the back of my mind…
The thought of you…alive…
and I spent a good deal of my life…waiting for you to arrive.”

“You were the wisp of a dream when I was young…
A wish, a hope…I knew one day would come true…
And I was so excited and happy…
when I found out that dream…was you.”

“So for an answer to your question…here’s the best that I can do…
As long as I can remember…there was a place in my heart…
I had reserved for you.”

“A safe, warm and comforting place
where my love for you has thrived…
And there it waited patiently for the day you would arrive”

“And though the moment I first held you in my arms
while crying joyful tears…
was the moment I first whispered ‘I love you’ in you ears.”

“With all those years of love stored up
waiting for the day our lives would intertwine…
the truth is I did not fall into your love…
you fell into mine.
