Samantha

I wonder what I'd be like if you had loved me
As a mother myself, a friend, and spouse
If your love had stretched like branches of a tree
But I still keep your picture at the entrance of my house

She's the Samantha before you had to take life by the handles
The Samantha before you were consumed, as if by fire
So I ran to a Father who gave my feet sandals
And He gave me all the love my heart could desire

Shall I Compare You

Shall I Compare You... ?
Shall I compare you to the sun?
Shining and warm, my dearest one
Shall I compare you to the moon?
Unique and bright, my greatest boon
Shall I compare you to the light?
Illuminating what not of sight
Shall I compare you to the knight?
in honour and dignity willing to fight
Shall I compare you to the Queen?
Admiring how you yourself preen
Shall I compare you to the heart?
You are the love bathing in my heart
Shall I compare you to life?
Of essence, lenient and tough
Shall I compare you to...?
You are beyond my similes and metaphors
You are above what I write of poetry forms
You are my mother
Of words I can add no other

Happy mothers day

Happy mothers day

To all my female family and my female friends
You was blessed from up above when they sent you a child or children to love . They saw that your heart had a void so they sent you a girl/ boy
Someone who could fill that space and be held in your warm embrace .
No one can say when GOD will decide to take them away , but in your heart they will forever stay .

A Letter from My Mother

Little girl, don't you give up now,
Unravel that quizzical brow.

Run like a roar, not with dread,
Stand tall, hold high your head.

Remember the words your mother said:
"O sweet daughter of mine,
Let the whole world see you shine,

Everything will be fine,
O sweet daughter of mine."

Become an alchemist,
See through the mist.

Turn the pain into your gain,
But don't let your heart wear a brain.

Keep the poems close you've read,
There's beauty and love just up ahead.

Though life may not be as it's said,
It's more than butter, more than bread.

Rise above the noise because you can,
Life is a journey, not a plan.

Have faith in Him,
Life won't feel so dim.

He loves you, sweet child, you radiant spark
So be gentle when life feels dark.

Be wild and free, go hug a tree,
Dance with the wind, just let it be.

Live with ease,
Listen to the honey colored bees.

Talk to the flowers,
Rest under the bowers.

Spend your hours
Smiling through the rain showers.

Carry on,
Look for dawn.

Every hurdle will be gone,
By the next morn.

to come home to a mother,
after a long day at school,
to that greeting of love and care,
to a spotless house, and aroma
of food that she makes so well,
to her healing maternal touch,
… those bygone days,
still stay with me…

to drive home to a caring wife,
waiting alone for me at home,
for that hug and kiss, the bond,
that strengthens two souls to be one,
when thoughts and hopes merge,
her thoughts are mine
and mine she knows from before,
.. her never fading smile,
still stay with me.

to be with the bright eyed girl,
my little 5 year old,
the distance from work to home,
felt so, so far far away,
I might have raced my car,
unknown to myself,
then watched her through teenage to
her wedding.. when she left.
..my love for her, and hers for me
still stay with me.

each a mother, like another,
each a glorification of that special
creation- womanhood…
moments pass, time washes days away,
imprinted on my heart and soul,
they stay with me…
forever.

Mama, my best word

My sweetness, from you, my first meal,
Exclusively for six.
And for many more months after~
The grub that made me tick.

You'd go hungry for me to eat.
Still my tum begs for more
What yours for days has been denied,
For hunger there to roar.

Empty tummy twirls blank your eyes,
Then you fall down and faint.
Still you rise just to find me food,
Your hunger no restraint.

More I grow, so your sacrifice.
You forsake your pleasure~
For me to have a great future.
To you, I'm your treasure.

Why Mama becomes my best word~
On my lips, just your praise.
I care not what anyone thinks.
In my heart, your love stays.

Your face now wrinkled by old age,
More, to me, you're pretty.
Tell me Mama how to pay back,
I'll pay to show pity.

Poem and Child

A poet gives birth to a poem,
Just as a mother gives birth to a child.
The child looks after its mother
When it becomes grown;
So, does a poem take care of its poet,
When it becomes well-known.

Mother's Day Gift

"My Mother, My Guiding Light

She was the first to see my face,
The first to hold me in a warm embrace.
She shaped me into the person I am today,
Teaching me to read, to write, and to find my way.

She instilled in me a spirit that never fades,
Encouraging me to face challenges head-on, unafraid.
She taught me to be strong, to survive, and to thrive,
To stand independent, and to reach for the sky.

I owe my life to her unwavering love,
Her guidance, support, and devotion from above.
My mother, my guiding light, my shining star,
Forever in my heart, near and far."

The hole

The hole
The hole I feel every year
Mother’s Day and Father’s Day
Celebration for your off spring
The hole that no one can take
Each year the hole grows
I want to call you up on the phone
Tell you about all the things
You believe I would never do
After all I was created by you!
Each yeah the hole grows
As I watch marriages grow
Knowing you will never give me away,
Oh wait, you did already, for your personal gain
Alcohol, laughs and even jokes
While your daughter had to encounter the strokes.
Not the way I dream of to be given to a man at just 9 years old.
Each year the hole grows
Wanting to be seen and heard
And be told I’m so proud of you
Only to be nothing more than the dirt on your shoes
Instead your voices play over within my head
“You will amount to nothing”
“You tell and I find out, I’ll make it so you can’t speak”
The hole that grows
And the pain that seeps
With every mother and father love story
I just want to rip off my ears
The hole grows
Each day, sucking the life away
While I wonder on earth as a stray
Unwanted and disregarded
Forever parted
The hole grows

MOTHER DAY

MOTHER DAY

It's not easy to write a mothers day poem
She has watched you ever since you were born
She never makes any kind of fuss
She always took care of us
She was always there to listen and discuss
Sometimes she would be overprotected
But her raising us was always effective
And she is a mother that will always be respected
She never asks for much in her life
She just wants to be a perfect mother and wife
You know she will be a perfect parent
And a great-grandparent
And you know you will never be embarrassed
This is why we all listen when she speaks
These are just a small amount of a mother's qualities
This is why any mother is unique

Premium MemberA MOTHER WHISPERS TO HER DAUGHTER

A mother is caressing her baby
her happiness flows in tears…
As she holds her daughter’s tiny hand,
she kisses her forehead
then whispers in her ear…

“Would you like to know a secret? It may sound crazy but it’s true…
Long before you came along…I was in love with you.

You were a thought I had when I was young…a wish that persevered…
a dream that reached perfection on the day that you appeared…

There may come a time..a moment in your life…before your childhood is through
when you might stop and wonder…when I first fell in love with you.

I’m not sure how it happened…I’m not sure how I knew
but in my heart I’ve always had a place reserved for you.

A place both warm and comforting…where my love for you survived…
and where it waited patiently…for the day you would arrive…

I had an ocean of love stored up for you
awaiting the day our lives would intertwine…
and I will be forever blessed
that…with all the other mother oceans out there…
you fell into mine.

Premium MemberMy 1st gift to Mom

A clear-beaded mousie
with a pointy black nose,
twitchable beaded tail,
and ruffly yellow clothes.

The tail can tilt her head--
she nods without a squeak!
Quiet little church mouse,
I bought from a boutique.

(True story!)

Mother’s Day

I’m not sure what to get you this year, Mum.
It’s so unprecedented.
I’d usually opt for chocolates or wine,
Or a candle maybe, that’s scented.

Do you remember that time, years ago,
When I made you mint creams at school?
But ate them all on the bus ride home,
gave an empty packet to you!

I felt bad about it and the worst part?
I felt so sick, I threw up.
But you didn’t mind, you just thanked me and smiled.
As you cleaned your own present up!

I cant make you a roast dinner.
I can’t give you a homemade card.
You’ve always been easy to buy for,
But this year mum, it’s so hard.

I know I could bring you some flowers,
But I can’t bear to watch them die.
Without your tender loving care,
It’s hard for anything to get by.

So all I can do is sit here,
And think back on all the years,
Sorry mum I don’t have a gift for you,
Just an endless supply of tears.
