Mosaic Poems

mosaic

I am a mural
of seasons patched in nectar
slowly—bit by bit I falter

Tinkling tinkle—
bicycle bell
bashes my pieces back to
where they belong; Where
they were sort of a whole. At least
I remember them making the decision
that we hate tomatoes
as a collective.
And they ride
on one bike, towards
nowhere specific—
—tinkling, tinkling

Now the shred of rainbows despise
the fragments that watch

a sharp picture forms
clarity
of shadow
omnipotent silhouette
just as suddenly
observe the single
uniqueness of its essence
solitaire
stars align
prodigious melding

mosaic

i am nothing mere of a mosaic
a broken frame
of what should remain
a whole personality
but it split
and caused me great chaos
i am a mosaic that nobody can piece together
i am a mosaic with random bits scattered across the ground
as i try to pick up all the pieces,
they crack apart and split,
i cannot remember where they went,

i

and we are,
       but dusk-kissed poems,
many moons apart,
      sequined in stygian sorrow ~
while ultraviolet veins
compose an electrified elegy,

A Mosaic

I have written for some time now and pause,
the quill in my hand rests from wear and tear;
The realization strikes me in my mind,
my mentor used to hold his quill the same;
In morning walks I wave my hand to greet,
the stranger smiles and I remember how,
my Brother used to wave his hand the same;
The time

Mosaic of Emotion

Holding myself not to fall apart,
I’m chauffeured by Dawn’s cart,
Each day with its fight,
It’s a tenacious walk into light.

A mysterious hand strives to reach for me,
I sail on a turbulent sea,
It’s a world in the dark,
I search for an escape footmark.

I have gone miles on this way,
Hope is an essential ray,
I look deep into my

Love's Mosaic: Finding You in Every Hue

If I ever found myself in a room full of people I've loved
You'd be there twice
Because in every person I've loved after you
I've tried to find a piece of you
If you mix together all the colors in the world you get black
And if I mix everyone I've loved, I get a mosaic of you.

Mosaic of Life

Shards of glass all around
Broken gems, sharp and profound
Picked, glued and retained
Artwork, colourful and framed

Life is a mosaic of broken glass
Memories retained, glued, amassed
Your gems are unique, profound and glued
Colourful, beautiful and viewed

Mosaics will look different each day
Sometimes bright, sometimes grey
Life is about glueing your broken gems
A journey of applying colour your

Thunder clouds at sunset.
A tiled mosaic.

NB: Inspired by Suzanne Delaney’s contest and subsequent blog (3-29-2023). This form arose from the oral tradition of “call and response.” In the rhythm of their work and perhaps in the spirit of a game or to relieve boredom, people would call out to each other. The first speaker

We are all a bit broken inside
Some only have hairline fractures
While others are completely shattered

Maybe the more broken you are is a blessing
Because when you put the pieces back together
The beauty in your rebuilt mosaic design will eternally shine

The masterpiece that never happened,
a mosaic of untapped passion;

Walked away from a chance,
waiting on the right circumstance;

Memories that were never made
all because you were afraid .

My sunflower table was created by artisans
Perfect for Kansas, with piano keys and pops of color
Everything you set on it looks insanely pretty
It shines with a shimmer that rivals glass.
People comment when they see it, and I smile
Remembering that my husband and I were in a store
On Father’s Day and he kept saying.
“I’ll

The Mosaic

Once upon a spherical time in state of dream,
absolute intelligence created a theatrical scene.
The unborn Lord making a puzzle of himself,
to establish mysteries and ingenuity to be more the self.
A game by gigantic life force energies to proceed,
all living souls having sense abilities as lead.
The aim of the puzzle is to establish truth condition,
to be
