Monkey wrenches are distressing.
Always, with my plans, they're messing.
In my life, I've come to realize,
they come in every shape and size;
but I don't mind - it's OK,
what will be my monkey wrench today?
The Grinch
is the guy I want to pinch.
Why would that crazy fool
ever want to steal the yule?
Santa Claus,
I'm just a kid who has four paws,
so, I hope to see beneath the tree,
a chew toy just for me.
Frosty the Snowman,
you ain't got much left to show man -
just coals, a hat, and a carrot stick...
in a puddle. Your spree was over pretty quick.
Bob Cratchit
Did you catch it?
Scrooge says you got a raise.
For Tiny Tim, to God, let's praise.
Rudolf the Rednose Reindeer,
raised not very far from here,
hit the big time on Santa's sleigh,
with gifts for kids both young and grey.
Jack Frost,
I told you to get lost.
Move along, don't linger.
I can't even move a finger.
Bob Cratchit,
Scrooge will bury the hatchet.
Before he changes his views,
buy Tiny Tim's orthopedic shoes.
Santa Claus,
don't send me a toy because,
as I start to think,
help my dad, so he won't drink.
Frosty the Snowman,
your mom told you not to go, man,
outside to play in the sun.
A blizzard's a safer place to have fun.
The Grinch -
that's you, you Christmas monkey wrench.
You should be grateful to know that you
are the subject of a clerihew.
In the city, there are benches
Placed where people might
Relax and take a load off,
Which is everybody’s right.
They’re either made of metal
Or old-fashioned painted wood,
Found in parks and promenades or where
They’d do the utmost good.
Most bus stops with a shelter
Have a bench for those who wait
And in playgrounds, there are benches
Where the nannies congregate.
My apartment building spans a block
On quite an average street,
Without a bus stop or a park;
It’s nice, but not elite.
Yet recently, a metal bench,
Three seats’ worth, with a back,
Was placed to give my home address
What other buildings lack –
A place to sit, but no one knows
Who ordered such a thing.
It sounds real good, but there are several
Problems it could bring –
The detritus of strangers,
Which is quite a common sight
And perhaps some noisy revelers
To party through the night.
My street is pretty quiet
And I hope a monkey wrench
Hasn’t landed on it with the
Sudden placement of this bench.
There's a MAGA 6-pack,
Sitting aloft the highest bench.
Where they've decided once again,
To throw in the monkey wrench.
It seems they weren't satisfied with,
Just taking a peek in Pandora's box.
They had to turn it completely upside down,
Shook it well, only to see what rocks.
Frayed mangled sparking wires crossed dissonance hang-up sires Metallic smoldering stench friendship slipping monkey wrench
Most she cited as jargon
Words to communicate
With the fans. She looked
past the "marks" and saw
something in the fan support
pile that allowed her reposition
and in clear mind aside from
the " media mumbo jumbo" she
looked at something someone
wrote, an when it made sense she
responded. A man see's beyond the
edges. His labors seeks reward.
Even the crumbest of them sometimes
are as worthy, as the most qualified.
Her sarcasm lead others to think.
A night were the less appreciated
wins. They don't know I spend most
Of my time separating from them; I
never said I didn't love them.

Monkeys, apes, gorillas---all so close to human
They can sleep in any bed a hotel has extra room in
Wearing glasses, reading matter in hand
~ Primate scholars, intellectual Tarzans
Monkeys are subjected to personification
When from the jungle they are on vacation
We talk of 'monkey business' and 'monkey shines'
~ While a 'barrel of mankeys' is a fine, funny line
Monkey see, Monkey do
If you're a monkey, happy birthday to you!
Feel the need to monkey around?
~ Your spouse'll make a monkey (out) of you
To throw a monkey wrench into this poem
~ Just go ape over it. That'll show 'em
Better don your leather chaps it's going to be a rough one
Pack extra roll caps into your Six Gun
Ask for double shots to compliment your Starbucks
All that's left now is to wish you good luck
Bring an extra pack of Bottle Rockets if you have them
Monkey wrench and needle nose pliers if you can find some
This could read as the last page to the final chapter
In what we anticipate as the Happily Ever After
Do all you can do to bring the water balloons
A cassette if you could of your favorite Show Tunes
Add extra sugar in your Slurpee from the 7-11
This ain't going to be easy is what I am guessing
Get a tight grip on your Thingamajig
Loosen the top on the Pickle jar lid
We're about to go through another life lesson
Which ain't nothing new if I was a man betting
Pack your bags for another day in the life
Extra padding would help for the bumpy ride
Think we've thunk of it all there's no more to say
We're now more than ready for another day
Unjustly stymied, down by law,
The good citizen balks, throws his -
Monkey wrench into the grinding gears of society:
"They all be damned."
But freed, aided,
The good citizen (Way, will) makes straight that path,
Turns forward the Great, Lasting Wheel of Society,
For the benefit of all.
Messiah complex
In a turtle neck
Twirling vortex wreck
Black hole quench
Talking in riddles
Might as well be speaking in french
Little skittle flecks
Buzzing from two twenty two's
Of bubbly Beck's
Clinching a monkey wrench
Dragon breath honey stench
Riding bouncing checks
Pay attention now
Cause this will be in tomorrow's test
chatterbox monkey wrench
can't fix a thing
rusty lunchbox champion
never had any zing
mini munchkin dropout
only good for a fling
rabbithole ratfink
listen to how you sing
i remember a time when sunshine
was a hit in the center of sound
i treasure the innermost rhythms
and broke down in my mind each mound
now it is all goose dropping fodder
being duplicated by the pound
what once was an oatmeal raisin cookie smile
is now a kid with broccoli on a fork frown
Limerick : Once a typsy Toddy-Tapper took Wench
Once a typsy Toddy-Tapper took Wench
Up coco-nut tree with monkey wrench
He pumped her full toddy
Till Wench was tight giddy
But she hung on to ? nuts with wrench.
