Velvet Night

On a warm, velvet summer night,
When moonlight drips in a soft SIGH,
The scents of LILACS bathe starlight
And CAJOLE crickets to reply.

MISTY castles enchant SLUMBER
On a warm, velvet summer night
Spent hearts dream in shades of umber
In mystical moonstruck half-light.

Midnight mistrals, rufous bobwhites,
Chirp with sweet sonata finesse
On a warm, velvet summer night
Soft breath of summer seeks to bless.

ETCHING calm into WEARY eyes
Sweet wine of sleep nuzzles midnight
Dulcet GUITAR blooms – sweet tones rise –
On a warm, velvet summer night.

Gotta Love Alliteration 5-21-24
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gracious Grace
Endless effervescence of grace,
In riots of radiance, infected by innocence,
Seeks out the heart harassed by humiliation –
Wrapped in sleepless shrouds of incensed worry –
When alliterations of angst plunder soiled spirits with pandemonium
Grace, the eternal romantic, lavishes love.
Purity, born of playful purity,
Tames tempests of melancholy mistrals
As midnight murmurs into dawn’s jubilant joy
As dusky dews flow from fountains of forgiveness
With eternal elixirs from the everlasting
For the pensive plea of the penitent pilgrim.
Grace sings the ageless anthem of sweetest sanctuary
In honeyed breaths for the hobbled heart to inhale
Ever abiding loveliness, always in ascent,
Tingling with tenderness, opening soldered seas of sin,
Miracle made manifest in majestic melody
With promises penned in poems of peacefulness.
Blue Glow
Braving storms, push and pull piercing my
Parched soul, while glazed in flaxen mists
Framing lingering dew drops
Consoling my warped core,
As I drift amidst
Sweeping mistrals
Calling me
To the
Blue
Glow
Of our
Ocean home,
Swaying to tides
Eclipsed by sundered
Coral sighs glistening
Upon glossed ripples bleeding
Devout love encompassing my
Frigid heart, seeking the warmth of you.
Premium MemberWild Birds
I am soaring above canopies of an olive kingdom,
singing sagas of untamable freedom, to whistling mistrals,
as a choir of tropical rain-forests serenade a wild chorus,
my rare perfumed wings unfurl strength~pirouetting like a ballerina in the velveteen clouds,
gracefully gliding toward mountains clayed with honeysuckle-glazed minerals;
I’ve been a keeper of secrets lost in the mists of time,
embracing the glowing sun that illuminates fields of fern,
whilst hope rests beneath my indigo feathers, guiding rose gold flocks.
Sometimes falcons and eagles are ignorant to my survival instincts-
they search for a sign to prey on my maternal prowess;
I mimic their frequency to deceive sharpened fangs and talons,
for I can hear whispers from miles of silence echoing amidst predatory darkness.
So find me in the wilderness, I am a harlequin macaw conquering depths of dense thicket trees.
Sunset Reveries
as swans slide across lakes - sunset rays sway to autumnal reveries
ambling across swirling helix - of deadened cinnamon foliage
mocking greenery framing skeletal bones - of lifeless roots crackling
the warmth of your deep saffron gold aura - harvests the depth of our love
eclipsing rippling mistrals - simmering amidst auburn horizons
Gilded Life
Lost in a labyrinth of
Glistening sights
Infinitely out of reach,
Trembling amidst sweeping mistrals,
Fabricating a life of nostalgic allusions,
Caught in lapsed reveries, of
Restless arias and faint rustlings
Sequestering my rampant aura,
Bleeding in russet naivety,
Evaporating in silent elegies.
8-16 Lines of Fall Splendor – 9-12-23
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Storms of Fall Splendor

Whirlwinds of splendor jitterbug in back streets,
Autumn’s song breathes in a blizzard of umber,
Downpours of vermillion create flushed retreats
Crimson cloudbursts, impetuous as thunder.

Tempests magenta scuttle on winding roads
While squalls of cerise in warm copper whorls twirl
Gusts of red garnet blow across the crossroads
And, like gales of laughter, orange giggles swirl.

Russet storm winds blow in dazzling fandangos
Auburn firestorms spin in scarlet enchantment
Ethereal fogs spin gusts of gold tangos
Flurries of sunlight – autumnal event.

Showers of glory chant in mistrals of red
Twisters of ruby across fields and moraines
Outbursts of amber, maroon brouhahas spread,
On waiting roads, sidewalks, avenues and lanes.

Premium MemberBreath of Spring

Breath of Spring

Soft zephyrs drift on wings of thawing mists,
Gossamer breath touches shivering hearts,
Shadows of vernal memoirs linger - a kiss -
Restless cold mistrals in a huff depart.

Between cold winter’s last icy exhale
And summer’s heavy breathing siroccos
A gentle breath hugs the heartbeat so frail
Awakening the sleeping beauty Hope

Floral murmurs blend in unison breeze,
Unrestrained canticles of glory runes,
Beneath sighing ides of equinox seize
Joy - an empty tomb after the first moon.

Through fluttering breaths of resurrection,
Frozen lungs breathe new perfume - perfection.

Winds of Change

Capricious, wild zephyr – face changing ever
Pirouettes on toes with mischief clever
Breathes dawn’s glow – gusty gales of crystal snows –
Signals the seasons – the bloom of the rose.

A whiff of coming Spring – perfumed soft sighs -
Lifts up baby birds to touch new sky highs
In Summertime cools the dry sunburned land
Sweating dirt devils spin 'cross the beach sand.

A whirlwind of moods - mistrals laugh then brood -
Twirls pinwheel hues in Autumn's interlude
Cold drafts exhale in frigid Winter tales
Telltale breath bears meadow white hoarfrost frail.

Though changing winds beg to spin weathervanes
Each season’s persona remains unchanged.

Lesser Dragons

They call them dragons,
winds such as Rashabbar the black
who darkly binds the unwary, or dust spewing Calima,
she who herds madness from outside-inward.
Then there is Bayamo, the tree killer,
Tebbard the sultry doctor, a fever-wind
that dispenses fire and delusion.

Chinooks and Mistrals scour and skive.
The Haboob hunts where hunters hide.
Those named winds; gales that chisel faces,
as if they were cliffs.
Squamish, Elephanta, the Williwaw,
swirling thieves that steal babe,
crib, wimple and shawl.

I have traveled through some,
and avoided most.
When, in tornado season, I occasionally
roam from my Ohio home,
I think of those dragon-winds,
and scan the sky
for signs of a scaly whipping tail,
or talons clawing some fluffy clouds
before blowing a Dutch barn to bits.

Northeaster Winds Rise

Chilled the January air
 shaken and stirred by suffused zephyr winds
 shimmering icy foam gurgled frigid in the froth
 singing, swirling, whining tempest
 lathered howling squeals thru the trees;
naked skeletons undressed by winter fall
 gasping breaths guttural involuntary convulsions
 tempestuous tease in tornadic twinning gales
 breathless mistrals meandering the trades
 slipping and sliding along the fluid swells
agitated gesticulated waves palpitating
 screech screams, squealing squawking shrieks
 raw bittered bites breaching lung and sinew
 merciless rigor of glacial numbing
 the piercing northeaster yowls
ascending surge of winter awakening rise.

Premium MemberOne Last Waltz

Oh, how I long to drift to my death

Never again draw a CO2 breath

Each of us twirl in a dance all our own

Loosed by the mistrals and heaven-blown

All of our lives we provision The One

Synthesize O2 and light from the sun

Tasting sweet rain whene'er the clouds burst

Wetting our folds for its deep-rooted thirst

And now in the fall, make way for the spring

Let go our branches to dance and to sing

Trading our green for the shades of the sun

Zion awaits when our last dance ... is done.
