A personification written about macaws, macaws are parrots highly intelligent , very playful and colorful, they have long tails , they are found in rainforests, and many of them are endangered. Here I've written about a harlequin macaw one that is rare as they are bred from two true species of macaws (green wing and blue and gold) some of these macaws have perfumed feathers and they can mimic speech and sounds, and are great dancers too: i love reading about them.

I am soaring above canopies of an olive kingdom, singing sagas of untamable freedom, to whistling mistrals, as a choir of tropical rain-forests serenade a wild chorus, my rare perfumed wings unfurl strength~pirouetting like a ballerina in the velveteen clouds, gracefully gliding toward mountains clayed with honeysuckle-glazed minerals; I’ve been a keeper of secrets lost in the mists of time, embracing the glowing sun that illuminates fields of fern, whilst hope rests beneath my indigo feathers, guiding rose gold flocks. Sometimes falcons and eagles are ignorant to my survival instincts- they search for a sign to prey on my maternal prowess; I mimic their frequency to deceive sharpened fangs and talons, for I can hear whispers from miles of silence echoing amidst predatory darkness. So find me in the wilderness, I am a harlequin macaw conquering depths of dense thicket trees.

I love this poem, I have 2 macaws, a blue and gold and a scarlet. My blue and gold smells like a fresh cut fruit salad and is extremely intelligent, the scarlet does not smell the same but loves to give kisses and anything or anyone who comes in the house she always asks can you say hello . Happy Holidays, kelli

Ah thank you kelli, we have a macaw haven too and we have all but the blue one which is rare and hard to find. They grew up with our family from an egg to young adults and they are definitely very intelligent. I love the smell of their feathers i have their feathers in my room too. How exciting to meet someone who has macaws. Awwn they are such adorable birds. Thank you so much for sharing

Beautiful as ever. I deliberately make my comments brief. "I mimic their frequency to deceive sharpened fangs and talons,". How clever they are. Very interesting species. All the Best.... dear Empress.

“I am soaring above canopies of an olive kingdom, singing sagas of untamable freedom.” Such wom Nderful word flow. Your love of this bird resonates throughout the whole piece. Another brilliant line is, “ mountains clayed with honeysuckle-glazed minerals;” For sure, this is a winner. God protect these beautiful creatures. Kudos, SuZ

Ahh..this divinely empowering piece, exuding strength, beauty and grace is so captivating..I can resonate so deeply with this breathtaking piece (as always), my beautiful soul sis! I can relate this beauty and ugliness of life..darkness and light coexisting in a world full of the soulless who want to hurt others, yet soaring above..aware of their intentions, can’t conquer a soul that’s been through the deepest depths of hell, always rising above, still standing tall through it all..deeply raw!

I am soaring above canopies of an olive kingdom, singing sagas of untamable freedom--this captures the essence of their free spirits, Ink. Your poem speaks eloquently from the heights and breadth of wilderness--giving the bird a voice.

Dear Ink, This lovely poetry has the power to soothe the depths of one's soul. Your amazing personification of the macaw lends the poem an ethereal character, instilling a sense of surreal wonder as one reads its lyrics. Your intrinsic skill, like the macaw's vivid plumage, comes forth with a distinct and exquisite beauty. These lines "gracefully gliding toward mountains clayed with honeysuckle-glazed minerals; I've been a keeper of secrets lost in the mists of time" are very intriguing. BOL
