Wild Autumn

wild autumn

hot ten day heat wave
hydrangeas wilt in the shade ~
  steamy heat at night

mistrals fan embers
rises up to spread white fire ~
  dry grasslands shutter

up from churning seas
hurricane force rain floods plains ~
  cactus bloom too soon

9-14-22
Over the past two weeks we have had a heat wave, seen wildfires start and had Hurricane Kay bring flooding.

Hi Sam, Congratulations on your premiere choice selection. I was overwhelmed by the vivid imagery and those powerful descriptions. A potent message indeed. Thank you for your generous comments and insights on my computer Footles. I appreciate that Howard

Hi Howard! Thank you so much! I so enjoy writing haiku. It just seems to inspire the creation of mental pictures with vivid images within the constraints of seventeen syllables! Those two weeks in September truly were wild from a weather perspective. Hope you are well. I did enjoy your very whimsical footles. Made me smile! All the best.

Quite a chain of wild weather. I hope cooler, calmer days have settled the tempest. Most interesting Haiku's. Best wishes, Brian

Yes, it has been weird and crazy! The heat has broken and now we are below normal with our temperatures. And, we are predicted to get rain this weekend - highly unusual for September! I guess I'm going to have to add another haiku as the wild weather continues! Thank you for your best wishes and wonderful feedback! Blessings

Hi Chris! Many thanks for your message and note of congratulations! It has been a wild September weather wise and this weekend we are due to have rain! That in itself is weird as our rainy season doesn't really start until November! I think I'm going to have to write an additional haiku for the string! The wildness continues! Blessings of clear skies and calm breezes to you!

Hi Michael! Like you I do wonder about the crazy weather and all of the craziness in nature - what is God telling us? I am tickled that you liked these haikus. They were fun. I may add a fourth haiku as we are due for a highly unusual September rainstorm this weekend! Thank you for your visit and and your wonderful message. Sending you many blessings my friend on wings of peace.
