Breath of Spring

Breath of Spring

Soft zephyrs drift on wings of thawing mists,
Gossamer breath touches shivering hearts,
Shadows of vernal memoirs linger - a kiss -
Restless cold mistrals in a huff depart.

Between cold winter’s last icy exhale
And summer’s heavy breathing siroccos
A gentle breath hugs the heartbeat so frail
Awakening the sleeping beauty Hope

Floral murmurs blend in unison breeze,
Unrestrained canticles of glory runes,
Beneath sighing ides of equinox seize
Joy - an empty tomb after the first moon.

Through fluttering breaths of resurrection,
Frozen lungs breathe new perfume - perfection.

Michael, your words lift me up like finding the empty tomb on Easter morning. Thank you! And you are so welcome! Will share something I discovered that forever changed my relationship with God. In the Psalms, the understanding of lowly meant - knowing your need for God. It meant that submission to God meant being under the mission of God with God large and in charge with the best answers. What a great place to be. I thank you for sharing your faith journey and hope this info is a source of continued inspiration to you as it was for me. Blessings of Easter joy to you!

You captured the theme of spring's breath really well. I hadn't read yours before I wrote mine, and amazingly we have a similar way of thinking. I love the "breaths of resurrection." Spring always reminds me of life coming back from the dead. Great job on this!

This was such a wonderful theme to explore both in the sensations, aromas and visual explosions of of color in spring - a true resurrection of the spirit on many levels! I remember the huge lilac bush in our back yard growing up and how I treasured the rich fragrance and beauty of its purple blooms. My lilac seems to be waking up - can't wait for it to bloom. Sending you blessings and joy!
