In days of yore
her husband snored
Her nightly grief
knew no relief
But then by chance
she learned to pole-dance
which promptly cleared his sinuses
~ Though that had its plusses and minuses

May Mother Nature receive her due
For seasons of splendor each in kind
Contrasts noted in color and format
Starting with spring, her minuses few,
Then, summer in her brightest blues we find
Until autumn shows us nature’s palette
Of crimson, yellow, orange, and gold
All the vibrant colors we know are refined
Only to find themselves in a burning vat
As winter approaches, oh, so awfully cold
Now, ponder that.

I take to heart that true love
Needs arithmetical attention.
Mathematical tenderness
Equations all formulas equipped
With pluses minuses and square
Roots to boot. Arithmetically
Sound
Travel with it
For sure indeed never leave the
Shore without the satisfaction
Of a truthful heart and a little
Equational engagement

We met out of circumstances
that would seem insignificant
But you've got that magic
of turning minuses to plus
as you always find a way
to solve for the x in my life.
And even as much as
I can solve maths pretty well,
I believe that you solve mine better.
And I love you for that.

peace'a the day be to ya
...that which you've given me...
everyday at no cost
...is a reality...
reflections within and without
...mirroring...
the middle way
…of pluses and minuses...
being without pain
...the other is never an alien...
with respect our common logic
...love on each planet is the same...

Thoreau Through and Through
Breathe and observe, duet sitting on a beach,
Or a Walden Pond, attend details' breach,
Ripples, waves, light glinting off splashes,
Warm sun crust, rays streaking striped sashes,
Surge after surge wash over and under,
Awareness catches subtle and quiet thunder,
Surface Cat's Paws emerge by breeze breath,
Wash lapping waves upon lack of depth,
Closed eyes hear resounds of cardio throbs,
Thoreau math minuses the bleating mobs,
Don't Go with the Flow but Put Your Ducks,
In a Row, fulfill your life: "I am!", not "Aw Shucks!"

If you know what you're sad about
What you're angry and mad about
Be a bit of a gadabout
Find something to be glad about
You dwell on the minuses
Complain about the Why-nesses
Time to elevate, Your Highness
Unclog your mental sinuses
Enough of the gloom; enough of the doom
Destroy them now: POW and KABOOM!
No more assigning blame
Just play the Glad Game
Your eyebrows are fine
And so are your knuckles
Think about those two
And burst out in chuckles
No phlegm in your throat
Or snot in your nose
Make a wee bit of effort
Wash the dirt from your toes
You're not allergic to chocolate
Or cookies, or candy and cake
And when you eat pizza
Your tummy doesn't ache
No pimples on your face
Or freckles on your butt
If you're over nineteen
You've outlived King Tut
Once you open your mind
And see what you've had
You'll always be glad
My dear friend and comrade!

In the last four years I have had no seasonal allergies
Thanks to all of Chaga’s wonderful properties.
Then comes along spring of twenty seventeen
And I am back swallowing a bunch of antihistamine,
For I had stop consuming my magic potion.
Really, truly, I had no notion,
Of all its pluses versus its minuses.
Now it comes too late for my poor sinuses.
Chaga, I hope it is not to late to reclaim your power
So I may stop popping pills and get off all puffers.
I believe and trust that you will not let me suffer
So I might enjoy what this season as to offer,
Like the beautiful blossoms and blue skies
without having oozing and watery eyes.
But in the meantime, family and friends, just stay polite
With each time I sneeze, just say "Gesundheit"

It was warm today
wasn't in the minuses
dipping down again.

Today was the first day in the past couple of weeks that it was and stayed above 0 degrees Celsius. It's going to dip below zero again tonight. After the rain we got today, it's going to flash freeze and make roads dangerous.

In dredging memory for childhood moments,
Those lingering longest in abysmal slumber.
I've searched for seed in crevice and shadow,
Absent of sound, I found inordinate number.
Exposed were seedlings long ago planted,
Infertile and parched until this sounding.
But detrimental seed weren't sown deep,
Satan's recall is most keen and abounding.
Time eroded soil which encased dire seed,
Whether good or bad, neither, minuses yield.
Before my unharnessed mule was in the barn,
Satan's shovel was busy grubbing in my field.

Form: I do not know?
I have trouble writing in free verse
As though my Minds stuck in reverse
Every time I think of a rhyme
It is defiantly writing time
That’s something that will cause a stump
The rhythm can’t go bumpity bump
I am a simple country girl
Few fancy words go in the whirl
Not ignorant or uneducated
Just to my life style dedicated
I write from what is in my heart
Experiences that I played a part
Of faith and love and family
The things in life that we all see
The end result will be of my best
Anything less isn’t worth your request
It took me longer get Microsoft word open
than it took for me to get my first line typed
Approximately 3-4 minuses from start to finish
but I type 24-30 per minute due to physical
and visual handicaps

The Game
The white runes,
the words I spelt,
the total score; the near misses, the losses, and the rushes.
These aer just some of the things that make the games fun to me. Filling the
agony of all the defeat that they handed me.
Pluses and minuses evening out the scoring.
Changing to a new level and then to one more new level always one more new
one OH boy.
Clearing a row in the nick of time the handsbreath away from the ending.
Pausing to check all my email messages for one more new game.
Playing and tiring and pausing and playing again:
over and over and over and then-
eating my lunch at ten and not noon to have the strength to shoot one just one
more ugly alein creature.
Searching the skies for the things that can`t hide from my lasers.
Addiction for some is just fun for the men.
Game Over
