Putting out fires not of my making
it's time-consuming heart-breaking
the grass over there don't seem any greener
and from my perspective the streets are meaner
the so-called social networks are as unsociable as can be
impersonal with dirty laundry on show for everyone to see
despite self-admitted wrong-doing and misdeeds
the herd still follows their every lead
but I won't borrow sorrow
and be overwhelmed by the troubles of others
doing my best making the most
if it's not one thing it's another
and then sometimes it's both
feels like the world has gone to hell
with nary a handbasket to carry us there
and I'm at the bottom of a deep dank well
is the world spiralling out of control
while I'm abandoned here in a drear dark hole

Always walk on the sunny side of the street
where the grass is always greener
my advice... give a wide berth to the shady side
(unlike Little Red riding the 'hood)
as over there the streets are meaner
better yet focus on the good
where life is pleasantly serener
maintain a positive outlook
and keep a cheerful demeanour
please don't be annoyed vex or hex yourself
(so as to avoid a scandal)
like the wicked old witch on her broom
who when angry flew off the handle

Oh, I ask, is it my appearance or rather to say my looks,
Or is it my stature that has gone according to the book.
I wonder if it’s my age or demeanor,
that has made older people so much meaner.
I call upon my brethren and I ask,
is not this rule that was placed upon our mentality such a burden.
Many our age overlook this rule,
and their new best friend ends up being a warden.
Now I never know if I’m truly wrong or right,
because thou answer of an oldster always makes them look like a knight.
They infinitely compare us to one another,
not knowing how it’s so much of a bother.
Hold on to reality a little longer,
and do not let man become your enemy.
For we don't have all eternity to confine all these things internally.
They are just exclusive weapons to bring about our downfall.

When I was a kid we watched with hearts aglow
and Snow White’s skin was always white as snow.
But all bossy and meaner
Snow White is now Latina
and heigh-ho heigh-ho it’s off to smirk they go!
Well the folks at Disney have changed it all since
and real dwarfs too offensive they try to convince.
Virtue signalling I see
that toxic masculinity
so sadly there’ll be no more kiss from a prince!

The other side ain't really greener
the streets is cold but society's meaner
Its a rough climb up out this b&*ch
and I'm steady tryin-
constantly fighting for what's rightfully mine
and I'm already out my f-in mind
breakin my spine jus to find
Ain't nuthin at the end of that rainbow
its a low blow
so I stick that needle in my arm one more time
This life I'm livin ain't mine,
It's a complete lie
I used to shine
now I'm just blind
To the happiness I used to feel
I gota jux,rob and steal just to barely get by
and I'm ready to die
im too high
tryna fly
wavy as fck
and I got zero luck
so numb I can't even cry
Been beat down so much
got no energy left to try
an with all that combined
the only lane is way outta line.

Cantina Tina never met one meaner
Though she sure looked pretty as the night grew long;
And so did I, in the mirror of the john.
Bottom of the bottle is where the grass is greener.
A Skid Row guy with an eye for Pasadena;
Spend my nights between seventh and third
With old Jack D ’til the world is blurred.
Bottom of the bottle is where the grass is greener.
Out of County jail for a misdemeanor,
“No sir, Judge won’t be doing that no more;”
Hot foot it down to the nearest liquor store.
Bottom of the bottle is where the grass is greener.
Once had a girl, oh boy, you should have seen her
“It’s poker, pool, or me if you want me staying here:”
So yes, I went ahead and chose the boys and beer.
Bottom of the bottle is where the grass is greener.
So here I am, eyeing Cantina Tina
She’s sure looking pretty as the night grows long;
And so do I, in the mirror of the john.
Bottom of the bottle is where the grass is greener.

She has 50,00 followers,
He has 1,00,00, followers, really,
Yeah but what does it really mean?
Should we give a bean?
Will it ruin many a dream?
With productivity now quite lean,
As we follow someone else's billion-dollar dream,
With our hands always clean,
And minds scrubbed even cleaner,
Oblivious to a world that has just got meaner.
So, yeah that's what it all means!

Steampunk Admiral Rabbit was given his last commission today
He was grateful to have it before he turned too old or too ridiculously gray
His merriment led to some confusion in the throne room of May.
We were going to retire that bumbling fool said her brother Jay.
I am the queen, May said, and still on the throne as you can see.
No one retires Admiral Rabbit or anyone else except for me.
Jay backed off, but ran out to pout with his meaner cousin Jay Jee.
Another naysayer who thinks old folks should be tied to a tree.

She had read the two children a story of Bow Peep
She hadn’t finished it, and they were asleep.
Quietly downstairs, not much on T.V. she had a look.
So, she stretched out on the sofa and read her book.
She explained she was just the sitter when the phone rang.
Halloween and all to do was read her science book the BIG BANG.
Her cell phone rang from Unknown caller, but no one was there.
Again it rang same caller unknown, “Check the children, I care.”
Who is this? But he hung up. Again the same caller, called.
“Why haven’t you checked the children ?” “I did” she stalled.
“No you haven’t” That must be a good book !” “Jeff is this you?
Stop fooling around, you are scaring me, tell me I’ll count to 2 ”
Another call meaner than before “Check the children NOW”
She called the police, advised to keep him on the line somehow.
“ Have you Checked The Children ?“ She was scared as a mouse.
Police called “Get out! He is calling you from a phone in that house.”

Getting Older
As I'm getting older,
I'm not getting any bolder,
and women's attitude towards me is getting colder.
As I become a senior,
my demeanor becoming meaner,
my funds becoming leaner.
With all this trouble,
I'm living in a plastic bubble,
and you'll find my ethics in the rubble.

Dapper Dorothy pushes the envelope to the edge of the canyon
she should know better
being from a small town in the Midwest
Some of the meaner hicks say
She is trans someone whispers
What is that?
Pan? Tran? Slam? Sham?
Some of the relatives laugh
Not understanding how it feels
to be a little boy born in a girl’s body
To be sad every time he has to go to the girl’s side
Wearing panties when all he wants is boxers
There are no other trans in our town.of three hundred and two
Maybe and probably there have never been.
I look at Dapper Dorothy’s clothes and marvel
Glad he is finally honoring himself with beautiful men’s clothes

** A Very Memorable Christmas Present **
Someone made an err::
Boxing Day ‘ere’s
Been the day of — not after.
What started as the greatest
Christmas ever, turned
Us from better to worse
As our tempers grew, altered
After our fingers were slid into
Those gift-wrapped firm gloves of leather,
Punching through the room’s air
At each other
With words roused from harsh to meaner,
‘Till our referee pup barked
To end our Round 1, forcing a turnover
Into creating a round of rich laughter.
Re-freshed, happier, remembering our
Proper manners appropriate to honor
Our Savior’s birthday…We resolved
A return trip to the store to trade
That shared present of boxing gloves for
A healthier, sturdy set of parallel bars.

Gorgeous Mr. T.W. Dog taught at the cat college, a big mistake.
They were snarly and growly, and many were totally fake.
He tossed one meowing student out the window, she landed in a pond.
You cannot do that! Said the headmaster. What planet are you on?
In dog school, we can do this, T.W. Dog told the man with delight.
He was laughing his guts out because that wet cat did not look all right.
You cannot have a second chance, the boss aid, because her daddy Joe
Is the one who brings us kibble and bits, and he would think this was low.
But Daddy Joe came by and saw his offspring shaking off water.
It couldn’t have happened to a meaner or nastier ugly-acting daughter.
He congratulated T.W. and gave him a sturdy healthy raise.
The headmaster turned direction and began to give him deep praise.
