a kite
with a severed string...
is what I am;
the wind's useful idiot,
d r i f t i n g
erratically
across the tempestuous sky,
losing all control...
make no mistake about that!
should I rise
with the morning sun
one day
and not see you
lying right next to me....
gee, I can't even imagine!
v u l g a r
just the thought of it!
you see,
you, my anchor
are the tethered string,
that gently reels me
d
o
w
n
from the evil winds that blow
in the loftiest of skies.
should I no longer have
your hand to hold,
no matter how you leave,
i'd be everything
to the gust of wind
and nothing
to myself.
i'd be however it wants me,
so please,
never do.
Nothing brings joy anymore,
only a vast emptiness.
If you can, leave them here—
the unwritten three words of love.
I want to be listened to,
now none is near-
I feel threatened,
yet I stay here.
Those arms that hug and sway-
I never thought they'd betray.
The castle of love
I built so high-
I dream a sailor
someday will try.
Far and far I journeyed through-
this road has turned me blue.
I wish the crew could find me safe-
so I still keep his space.
They twinkle with sparks of love
that dance as a rippling pond
to spread upon my heart's shore-
your deep eyes of blue
Thy curve hath taught
the rosewood how to sing
and my fingers
long roughened by cedar
grow gentle upon thy hips
returning unto the edge of thy ebony
Through forty harvests
rain hath polished
snow hath kept
the sun made sweet the grain
Lo, the wood thrush calleth
from the bough
where once this timber
drank the morning
Thrice I say unto thee
I love thee—
And another ring
God closeth
in the heartwood

MISPLAYED
Hate came out to play.
Falling into a peace hole,
It soon became love:-
Where there is peace, there is love:
Where love is, hate can not be:-
I keep blossoms under my tongue
like contraband prayer, wet, bruised
a broken smile slides past me
sinister, undone, almost familiar
like contraband prayer, wet, bruised
a fallen guide drowns in mind rain
sinister, undone, almost familiar
seeking the now, an endless present
a fallen guide drowns in mind rain
a door to the cage named life
seeking the now, an endless present
it was never locked, not once
a door to the cage named life
bent, twisted by our hands
it was never locked, not once
we applaud thunder, swallow light
bent, twisted by our hands
I watch until nothing can bleed
we applaud thunder, swallow light
petals stuck between my teeth
I watch until nothing can bleed
sweet rot, a vow in disguise
petals stuck between my teeth
I laugh at saints in glass
sweet rot, a vow in disguise
then choke on the pollen
I laugh at saints in glass
a broken smile slides past me
then choke on the pollen
I keep blossoms under my tongue
a broken smile slides past me
sinister, undone, almost familiar
Love's sweet aroma drifts -
Draws me to surrender.
My joy is your laughter;
Your presence, my repose.
Let love and fire marry
And living be the prize.
I resign my empty nights;
Where you lead, I follow.
Like a candle and flame -
Be with me as one -
Wax melding into tongue
Inextricably so.
The calm skies welcomed a light rain that lasted
a while, but suddenly natures unpredictable flare
gathered its clouds and burst into a heavy storm.
With intense luminescence of a lightning-lit sky,
the soft light precedes the shatter of thunder that
pierced the heavens with an iron bolt; and again,
repeating its uproarious cry until Zeus was satisfied.
At the storm’s climax, mirroring each other’s motion,
aligned together, our bare homologous bodies
in full sway intertwined under blue satin skies,
synchronize as an unwritten symphony, a bohemian
rhapsody of involuntary euphoria that seems to last
forever. When the storm finally subsides, relaxing
in each other’s arms, in search of a resolution unlike
the placelessness of other times never visited before.
Our eyes shut, the words “I love you” yet unsaid.
Teasing rumble in the distance,
faint fragrance of petrichor,
redolence of rain nymphs
drifting along in primal scent,
like a mesmerizing lover hovering,
tantalizing, provocative.
Pent up emotion mounts, burns,
a yearning fountain of ecstasy,
love bursting forth flashing bolts
splitting skies and scorching earth;
saturate my soul with storm
relentless love of tempest born.
One with nature's searing surge,
I am consumed when we converge.

METAMORPHOSIS
BLACK COAL TURNED INTO DIAMOND,
WAVES ARE SLOW AND CALMER.
BLISSFUL AMBROSIA I AM SIPPING,
BEST VERSION OF ME IS CREATING.
CRUSHING THE SHELLS, I GOT WINGS,
CIRCLE ON ME IS GOLDEN BLEAM.
FEARING NO EVILS
In labors of love,
I’m journeying onward:
Life’s evils not feared:
With my Shepherd’s tools,
All evils are overcome:-
I've been escaping from the dark,
In the dark the fire of your love would spark.
I was in the darkest color of the night,
Till you came, and made my path, bright.
I've been drowning in the rainiest eyes,
Till you came and brought me sunshine.
It doesn't matter where you go,
You're always gonna be mine.
I've been falling in your love,
Catch me, before I fall apart.
'Cause things in this world fall,
But nothing can break, like a heart.
Come and once again,
Fill my heart with light.
Revive my dead soul,
With love and delight...
i saw your smile, then fell from grace -
plunged like Icarus out of the lofty skies
and traded that innocuous, frigid space
for the beautiful muddle in your eyes.
i watched my clean slate begin to fade;
the homespun, pristine virtues turn to dust
and fully embraced the holy wreck we made
out of a placid, fragile trust.
because heaven is a mere patient cage
of tediously slow hymns and blinding white
in comparison to this colliding rage,
this enchanting freefall through the night.
if planting my feet firmly against your skin
means that paradise is forever lost to me,
then, by all means, let my sentencing begin...
for I will wear the wreckage quite happily.
