Notes About The Poem

seraphima

there was a blossom
     so perfect and sweet
         born of a plumb branch
          placed ‘tween her feet
         there to adore her -
     adorned and complete
my Seraphima …

          there was a meadow
    so shimm’ring and bold
 and like her sweet tresses
streaked brightly with gold
 as her, meant for places
    like heaven, I’m told -
          my Seraphima …

there was a gloaming
     from romance memoirs
         and like her dear peepers
          it soft-breathed with stars
         so birthed from a sunset
     its moments were ours -
my Seraphima …

          there reigns a heaven
    quite deep as the sea
 where angels can wander
where souls are set free
 please, heaven, return my
    sweet angel to me -
          my Seraphima …

oh God why did you rip
     the heavens from me??
         come back …
          Seraphima.
