Premium MemberHalfway the Path

They were sweethearts from childhood
Someday wed was understood
Clashing goals drove them apart
Now, there’s no path to their hearts

Lovely in her wedding dress
At the altar, vows professed
Bound ever to another
What might have been was over

Halfway the path to a heart
Another must share that mark
Where true love’s most skillful art
Molds “Until death do us part”

At halfway mark two begin
Both lovingly bound by trust
Life’s reliable linchpin
Forever holds safely thus

Premium MemberAn Imperfect Union

Where to now, uncharted waters,
Two men vying, two men scheming,
Biden gloating, Trump now reeling,
Storm clouds gathering, eyes aloft.

So much anger, consternation,
A million words spewed every day,
Talking heads intent to sway,
Incessant noise drowning our senses.

Gone all reason, truth abated,
Daggers drawn, no time to ponder,
Where is grace, we're left to wonder,
Faint the beacon that shone so bright,

No aim but personal agendas,
Winning the game, no regard to cost,
So much broken, so much lost,
Legacies destroyed, a worthy prize?

Is there hope, slithers of light,
Where discourse and civility prevail,
Or just a forlorn dream, to no avail,
With troughs too deep, waves too rough.

Yet storms pass, the sun burns through,
Foreboding clouds soon dissipate,
Destructive winds gradually abate,
The dawn of hope a promise fresh.

America was born of freedom,
A welcome port, a haven sure,
Ideals the core, intentions pure,
Democracy the linchpin, autocracy despised.

So with heavy heart we bear,
This foisted moment of division,
Holding steadfast for our vision
Of one country united in a dream.

Premium MemberVampire Sonnets Xxiv Unsatisfied

Carefully watching every word I said;
For the moment I did not want to tread
any longer on this sharp vampire’s toes;
Something new I was going to compose;

‘Fable’ I asked ‘when are we to begin? ‘
I was going to become the linchpin
of the entire city of New Orleans;
 I vowed by any necessary means;

‘We will fly at the last light of Sunday.’
she replied ‘Please arrive without delay.
With me you’ll grow. I have no doubt of it,
and will quickly build a finespun skill set.’

Sink into my skin? Well she had just tried;
That desire would remain unsatisfied.

The Poeter's Framework

Taking into account; the Poeter's quip
Shant it be unfurled to reveal thine
Penned and newly coined path of authorship
Paying out the Poeter’s plumb line

Veering from the course
Plotting new wave points
Carting the next rhyme before the horse
Beginning each line with the next conjoint

Taking time to proceed; and dote
Forsaking time tested ways
Remaking each verse concave and connote
Breaking the norm; within this phrase

Plucking the strings of a mental violin
That one trains to adroit and therein
Making each intellectual a rational linchpin.

Weighed And Found Wanting
Written: by Miracle Man
12-26-2019

God provided a way for forgiveness of sin,
so we must trust in his sacrifice on our behalf.
For God, on the cross, became our linchpin,
If accepted HE remembers, no longer, our chaff.

By accepting Him we’ll walk a narrower path,
one void of worry when in judgment we stand.
A path that at life’s end will escape God’s wrath,
and hear HIM say, enter in, at my right hand.

Matthew 25:41
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:”

God Speaks
But Few Are Heeding His Voice
Written: by Tom Wright
2/25/2016

God communicates in ways that not all understand,
Many brush off his message while neglecting his command.

From the pulpit we covet substance to tickle our ears,
While remaining as mute sheep, bound for the shears;

Presently, I sense a partitioning in society taking place,
As an influx of foreign born, illegally, invade our space;

Were separated by both tenets and tinge of our skin,
Without appropriate thought, of God being our linchpin;

From planted seeds, we water, and see so little response,
While God sees our insincerity, and our nonchalance.

So as pampered generations, turn deaf ears to Gods call,
I sense it’s time for God’s rising, to announce, that’s all.

Ravenous Rats Capture Our Caverns

Ravenous rats in our lives
Determined to nibble the nipples
Stabbed by knives
Cutting tenuous triples in ripples

Undulating and ululating
In horror
At the humiliating and excruciating
Error and terror

Erstwhile partners and associates
Commit or omit
To implicate affiliates
Whose remit

Captures, raptures and sutures caverns
Embedded deep within bowels, dowels, towels, trowels and vowels of the Earth
Away from testing and truculent taverns
Where felt, unleashed wrath

Against ravages rodents havoc wreak
In the calm we covet
Even when we struggle up the creek
And services of a vet

We seek, click and tweak
In our endeavor
To kick, tick and stick
Into the peace favour and flavor

Singled out as the linchpin
Enmeshed
In a twin pin whose sapience spin
Bashed, crushed, slashed and trashed

In burrows dug by ravenous rodents
Ferocious and noxious
Whose complicit correspondents
In spite of behavior fractious

Slump and succumb
To energies injected in the strategy
Ensuring ravenous rodents run numb
As triumphant emerge our deployed and employed synergy.

Carbuncle Unbidden and Unwelcome

Wounds drained, opened, ingrained, rained, sprained, trained
In the midst of a family loss
Recriminations canned, fanned, planned, tanned
To fight the brute boss

Dressed up as justice cause
Disguised as implementation of lopsided justice
Pursued to discredit the family rose
Oppressed in the sluice

Where survival sap flows
In a bid to catalyze vitality
Where Providence fluid blows
The breath of consolidation and maturity

Grown in decades
In a lubricated life
Ought to celebrate serenades
That from each member recognizes contributions made by the wife

As mother, family front fulcrum, the linchpin
Whose love the family unites
In her role as family queen
Whose care ignites, delights and invites

Family unity, amity, affability and agility
Family loft and love
Family stability, serenity and sagacity
In a family born, built and blessed from above

To bless dad, mom and children
With ever growing faith
Ever strengthening bonds with brethren
In a dearth

Of gangrene gifts and ribald rifts
The family veers away from
In twists and mists
The family considers unbidden and unwelcome.

The Many Talents of Boyce Brandon Harris Second Addition

Away from tireless desk job i.e.,which obliged
swearing allegiance, fealty, loyalty within complex
edifice, where obsolete quaint rubric, schematic,

Watery Grave

I sparkle and
burst into flame.
The winds leave no mark
of my ashes to claim.

While losing the linchpin of my body,
resulting in vaporization,
disarray engulfs my land
until I’m decomposed from composition.
I should be unborn.

This world fills me with remorse.
Corpses over corpses honor the dead’s tears
at the tomb with no guide
in which I reside.

Dishonor leads me lost and astray,
and this world is a wasteland—
a watery death of disarray.

Premium MemberMother's Bookmark's

My thoughts they roil like waters dark
in the abyss of blackest night,
with memories of mother’s bookmark,
of Longfellow read by lamp light.
She called, in the room around me,
the patter of other small feet.
Her gentle voice fetched angels	.
Oh, the rhymes, they astounded me
like lullabies soft and so sweet.
All fearsome shadows, she’d dispel.

Maxine, my queen, read Tennyson
and the Charge of the Light Brigade.
A little girl dreamt of caissons
roll, and thunderous cannonade.
To be so brave, the small child mused,
mother her precious, heroine;
what would it take to stand so strong
without father, and not confused.
What words could be the linchpin
to right mother’s tell-tale wrong.

Such sad inspiration, mother,
oh, how I wronged you by being born,
though I loved you above all others.
Some thoughts of you make me forlorn.
Bring back the tales of mother goose,
three small kittens and their mittens.
Return the vision of your smile
the happiness your warmth induced,
let your spirit comfort, lighten
night, if only for a little while.

"I shall be telling this with a sigh"
Robert Frost

My thoughts they roil like waters dark
in the abyss of blackest night
with memories of mother’s book marks
of Longfellow read by lamp light.
She called in the room around me
the patter of other small feet,
her gentle voice fetched angels
Oh, rhymes how they astounded me
like lullabies soft and so sweet.
All fearsome shadows, she’d dispel

a little girl dreamt of caissons
roll and thunderous cannonades.
To be so brave the small child mused
mother’s small, precious, heroine
what would it take to stand so strong
without father, and not confused
What words where the linchpin
to right mother’s tell tale wrong.

Such sad inspiration*.. mother
but a champion you were born.
You’re adored before all others
yet, tears bring memories forlorn.
So, dreams stream on of Mother Goose
three kittens and their mittens.
My visions of your fleeting smile
return almost every night,
and your spirit comforts, lightens
sights, if only for a little while.

Destroying the Hypnobox

Torrents of opinion replacing fact
Barons control all that scrolls on that crawl
Silicon graphics--deceitful contract
Prometheus stealing fire from all

Tools of alarm promote profit-sharing
Octopus minds plot for us to keep less
Credulous masses need a good scaring
Agendas provoked by careful duress

Flirtatious hosts with no care for this world
Reading the script that our owners have planned
Digital mugging while flags are unfurled
Send kids to die in some far-away land

Empire building requires complicity
They seek to captivate delicate minds
Trust funds abound to buy publicity
To grease-up the wheel till the war mill grinds

Editors selling their duty for spin
Get their grim orders from round table groups
Twin tower fright proves a useful linchpin
Raising the false-flag to sign up more troops

Follow the money, their plan becomes clear
Domination fuels their crusade for more
Pipelines of oil cutting through the frontier
Hide wealth behind the hoax of holy war

Resist the program that boxes us in
See the real world with a clear set of eyes
Trust the brave soul that resides in your skin
And watch the bright flame of liberty rise

Linchpin...

I gift this here...

all my days...
...all my tomorrows...

For you I make this wish...

with loves trust...only you
may borrow...

...blessed with this one kiss
all consumed...

To retrieve another day...
...to console the greatest love...
...my love my heart resumes...

...Incline to applaud my hearts desire...
this love for you will not retire...

...For you have held my love steadfast
and true...

...This love, this love, in love with you...
