Welcome back sports fans! 

I'm Woody Wanker and this is still...Friday Night Lights! 
We hope everyone is enjoying the game.

It's late in the fourth quarter and the "Dogs" are down by 6.    
                   

Schizophrenic To Disco Lights

 [Bass drop]  
I saw the lights—red, blue, divine,  
Thought the cops were DJs droppin’ beats in a line.  
Sirens wailing like synths on fire,  
My brain said “dance,” my legs said “fly, sir!”

I hit the field like a disco crusader,  
Tripped on a skunk—funk’s personal invader.  
He popped

Lights on the river IX

Crimson scaled serpents
Sinuously slithering
Winding through the reeds

Lights on the river VIII

Quicksilver tendrils
inlaid rivulets flow through
the inky blackness

Lights on the mudflats

Rouge on old grey skin
lustre trying to conceal
yet exposes flaws

Bell bodies float lit
red globe lanterns trailing their
tentacle tassels

Sometimes I hide the truth in words that dance among shadows and lights

Sometimes I hide the truth in words that dance among shadows and lights,
I tell you that I want nothing from you, not even in exchange for these lines,
But if you look deeply, you'll see how I try to make you mine in silence,
Persistently, in ways I hope you won't notice, but always feel.

GAS STATION LIGHTS II

a lone ancient dark night
Your engine stumbles
rumbles, coughs to a stop
so close to E
The gas pump, blocky, digital
smells of gasoline
like a primordial dance 
an intercourse of machines
rape of a Mesozoic age, processed 
Petrol in a tank, deep
Swipe card, digital hum of circuitry 
Choose your poison, your savor 
Buttons—regular, premium, 
Reek of diesel 
Corruption 
So many

Under the Casino Lights

In the casino hall, the reels all turn,
Lights keep flashing, the bright fires burn.
Coins keep ringing, neon signs glow,
The thrill builds higher with every throw.

Roulette spins fast, the bars are alive,
Cigarette smoke in the aisles will dive.
New slot machines shine bold and bright,
Luring with stories, tempting the night.

Players wait, their hands held tight,
The reels spin

Lights Before the Fall

They say time is precious,
They say live, enjoy the highs and lows,
But when I’m up there on the Ferris wheel’s crest,
All I think of is the fall that follows.

Yet I feel the joy,
I feel it in every loop,
That wild moment when I bellow in joy,
Even knowing the drop is coming soon.

Crashing down like a Tilt-a-Whirl’s

Carnival Lights

Beneath the sky’s deep purple hue,
Music calls, the laughter too;
Wheels turn slow, the lights all spin,
And pull us gently further in.

The air smells sweet with candy threads,
With buttered corn and warm baked breads;
A carousel of painted dreams,
It ripples on the moonlit streams.

I watch your eyes in neon glow,
They shine in ways you may not know;
The

Lights on the river IV

Red hourglasses
drawn thin and narrow waisted
sparkling motes fall

Turn Off Your Head Lights

That’s not the light you're seeking.
Words cannot live
with your brain all lit up like that.

Let those dark parts of your body,
those body-prayers mostly ignored,
gift to you a poem.

Most of your better images
are born in that low-grade radiance
of flesh and bone.

After the glow
you can fill in the gaps

but not too much
or you’ll cover up
what you should

Light that lights all lights

By whose command do thoughts arise in mind?
Wherefrom arises the breeze of intent?
Who lights the lamp of love, to make heart kind?
What’s the source of the force for soul’s ascent?

Mind of mind, eye of eye and ear of ear,
is verily God, Who dwells in our heart,
immediate, intimate and so near,
recognised when bliss ignition does start.
