From the Pearl of the Orient
A name was born without dent
A laureate in reticence
A paradigm beyond silence

Composer, poet and lyricist
Over four thousand songs on his list
Written and delivered so crisp
Offered to his countrymen without wisp

Love songs cited and laid for all
Men and women of good values enthrall
From the hearts vibrate with gentleness
Depths of melody blossom in tenderness

Christmas songs of the nation so immortal
Through the decades played and resonate with pedal
Pedals of piano, harmonica and instruments of love
Love for countless people cuddled in the breasts of dove

Sentiments of nationalism in his heart
Heart of a humble man from all hearts never depart
Simple life he lived with great philosophy in hand
Principles of equality and love for country so grand

Musician of leafs, so astounding in his wits
Talent beyond compare will never die in bits
His name is a pillar in the world of music
Forever a name so noble, anyone can sing with a lyric

A National Artist
A Filipino

Levi

You became a man
And I hope you will be proud and stand
The World is yours to see
It may make you happy you see
You may have ups and downs
But don't keep that frown
You're moving away
Which I hope you will be happy anyway
I will love you always
No matter what kind of season anyways
I'm proud of you
And you made me very happy too
I will miss you
But you can always call too
My wonderful Son
Go see the world and have fun

Premium Member Hey Levi What Happened

He is a fourth grader
Sitting alone during lunch recess
Sure some call it lunch
I call it lunch recess
Because it is.

No one sits alone unless they
are in trouble. I sit across from him.
Let’s call him Levi.
Hey, Levi, why are you sitting alone?
I’m in trouble.
what happened?

Nathan is the worst thrower in the whole world.
I threw my cap at him, and he threw it at the teacher
and hit her. So now I’m in trouble because of his
bad throw.

The logic is so easy.
I have to hold my smile down hard.
So are you guys still pals?
He nods.
Tomorrow though, he tells me.
It’s not my fault he’s a bad thrower.

LEVI STRAUSE

Levi Strauss
From Germany to New York
Known as denim maker,
literally "de Nimes" “from Nimes”
Wear tailor Jacob Davis?
Needed strong clothes not worn not holey
For miners purchased bolts of cloth
Corners pockets with metal rivets with that made them stronger

Levi Jeans

God do I need a man?
I know I need a pair of pants
Levi Jeans
Like the one advertised
on Alicia Keys.
Pants that fit me right
Close to my skin
But not too tight.
Let me move about
Day and night
Blue black
and out of sight.
But do I need a man?
Do I need a man?
No!
Not if I have a pair of pants
Levi Jeans
Like the one advertised
on Alicia Keys...

Levi

We lost our beloved Levi today,
A family member in every way.
Only yesterday he was full of life,
Now his life was filled with strife.
His spine was damaged from a leap,
His date with destiny he was to keep.
Hind quarters paralyzed but in no pain,
The vet said he would never walk again.
Heart breaking to see our lovely lad try,
To come for a cuddle it made us cry.
The terrible decision we now had to make,
To end it for him, we struggled to take.
He slipped away, like he was taking a nap,
We felt such pain, he's left an enormous gap.
Our two dogs at home feel something not right.
Their brother's not there to play this night.
So we end this day through a veil of despair.
Our boy will be waiting when we go upstairs.

For Primo Levi

For Primo Levi

it darkened more
as light shone through
and the haunting past stabbed

you felt
wept
screamed
as
silently the blind were led
'thieves' you called them
emerging from nowhere
yet everywhere
'thieves' you called them
no one
yet everyone
you felt
wept
screamed
till
finally

you left

Levi

Levi you are so happy and bright
You fill my heart with delight
You smile so much
That it's easy to touch
I love you so
And hope you know
I give you hugs
I give you kisses
And hope you'll have wishes
When you're sad or blue
I'll be here to help you
When you're mad
I'll make you glad
I wish only the best for you
And you can make dreams come true
So remember mom loves you

Levi Love

Once upon a time, not too long before
You were adored by me but not anymore
You are mega lame
What a crying shame
Since your buttocks in Levis, I adore

Little Levi

Little Levi
climbed up high
atop our kitchen table.
He tried and tried
to get down
but it seemed he was unable.

Little Levi
after many tries
figured out the perfect way.
Down on his tummy
he slid off
without a single
word to say!

The Day I Fought Levi

In the sixth grade
Levi shoved me down
and insulted my mother
by the code of those days
a fight was assured

We met after school
to fight in the park
each brought friends
to stand in our corners
and offer advice

As this was my first
I readily listened
while they suggested
where to punch Levi
and when

We circled one another
Levi called me names
and dared me to hit him
chuckling that he felt guilty
to be fighting with a girl

I let my fists go
wanting them to kill
his blood felt warm
almost scalding
between my knuckles

He punched so wildly
with a wolf-like snarl
I was shocked at the pain
stinging nerves beneath layers
of the will to endure

Still shuffling in circles
vying to take damage
and return it
something peculiar arrived
moving in me

As I struck at Levi
teeth buckling in blows
I began to feel sorry
my hate for him slipped
and was gone

Along with every jab
came silent apologies
Levi did not look himself
so bloodied and swollen
he could have been my brother

At that I stepped back
admitting surrender
asking for a truce
but little Levi called me a coward
and turned to limp home
