Jay’s jargon is jammed with jerky jammer
jiggery-pokery and jocundity. Jiggling joyous
joviality and jubilance, justifying Jay’s jollity.
I'm torn between two distant worlds ~
one steeped in wickedness and sin,
the other pure and righteous;
my mind drifts like oil on water.
Alluring is the glory of heaven,
promised if I remain pure and holy,
yet enticing is the frivolity
hidden in jollity they call "sin."
My mind imagines the afterlife the Bible depicts,
yet I savour worldly pleasures my flesh can't resist.
Even when I long to retreat from every sinful street,
my soul burns within with these endless conflicts.
What if the promise is merely a myth,
and I found out that piety robbed me of earthly pity?
Would that not be a loss of two cities –
one paved with gold, the other left cold?
I was never part of a family
never on a team
never felt comradery
No one ever stood up for me
people bullied me
I was alone
Poor me
Poor me
Poor poor me
She held a pity party for herself daily
In the lunchroom at work
ruining lunch for the rest of us
All cheer and jollity are extinguished when she enters
poor her, poor her, poor poor poor whiney her
We started eating at our desks
When the sad worldly din,
starts to close in-
I notice a dearth of humor,
the lightness of laughter
I seek after,
from the ministry of mirth.
Last Thursday my daughter told me
that week's food bill was $303,
we are a household of five,
we do our best to get by,
instead of a sigh and exasperated moan,
I busted out laughing once off the phone,
whilst watching the backyard squirrel's
acrobatics,
as they ate upside down from the
bird feeders, fantastic!
Global events and the home front too,
could make many of us full of rue.
Try to take some time,
in a jollity hour sublime.
Giggle with family, friends,
not everything has a morose end.
Sometimes our hearts are heavy
on this earth,
and we need more from the ministry of mirth. ~
I am a merry me frisky fey a tiny man bragged to me
Please join me at my explosive enjoyable revelry
A jollity in his overzealous ambiance was brighter than I had ever seen
Magical merriment and meshugga craziness was about to convene
Are you a leprechaun? I asked the adorable trickster, right away
Name’s McCindlesticks and I’m Celtic Irish, all the ever-loving day
That was good enough for me, being the daughter of a McCormick.
I am a bit Irish myself, and not easy to fool, cajole or trick.
jaunty jack-o-lantern joined
jingly jangly janitors’ July jamboree
jaundiced Jasper, Jack’s jackhammer
juggled and jostled the journey in jovial jollity.
Jovial Jukebox Julep juxtaposed Jasper and Jack’s
jonquils, joining the July Jubilee
Javelin, a jazzy jaybird, jangled Judy’s jaguar,
who jabbered jokingly and jauntily.
DARK
Being considered dark, is not bad
Just mysterious, perhaps for some
And not readily liable to frivolity
Telling jokes and embracing jollity
Suggesting greater depths to plumb
But maybe an ironic smile, not sad
Dark, sometimes seen as frightening
Can also offer thoughtful inspiration
Imagining what may lie beneath it all
With little pride, less chance of a fall
And keeping hidden any perturbation
Maintain no desire to be enlightening
Chit chattering so happily, in babyish first conversations,
Like treetop little birdies, sharing emerald observations,
Burbling giddily and gaily, as golden moments evanesce,
Tattling like garden beauty secrets, in the feverish press!
Jabbering enthusiastic jollity, in the success of noon sun,
Rumors of glad gibberish, as droning bees in gilt sudden,
Joyful, twittering chit-chat, at back fence of my gladness,
Gossiping with fascinated grandma, on a summer canvas.
The day after
This evening saddens me, right now Thailand
celebrates the New Year with fireworks
pathetic lives for a moment lit up by artificial stars
In three hours, time, it is our turn to shine
be blinded by the jollity, of bright objects in the sky
talking about the passing of time.
Time is not going anywhere it is still; we are ants
inside giant cheese holder made of glass, given life
from an obscure beginning, with one destination
that ends under turf or ashes on a log.
We labour under the illusion life is meaningful and
busy ourselves with trivia that is happenchance.
Colorful leaves on trees
They fall during a breeze
Natures masterpiece
People dressed in fleece
Abundance of Mother Earth
Showing her worth
Pumpkins, apples, and gourds
Harvest festivals volunteer boards
Corn, cider, beans, and wine
All of which are fine
Cornucopia, pine cones, and seeds
Separating wheat from weeds
Stag, blackbird, and owl
Wolves howl
Harmony, balance, and equality
A time of jollity
Amber and cat’s eye
Protect and fortify
Thistle and marigold
For the young and old
Fresh and dried flowers
Décor empowers
Rosemary, mugwort, and sage
Help with romance, prosperity, and age
Orange, red, and yellow
Relax with a cello
Brown, dark yellow, dark green, and copper
Corn in a hopper
Mabon is colorful
Pagans are religious not cultural
The hawks are back on the Mall roofs.
They form youthful bullying gangs
and only the parking lot geese are not intimidated
smaller bird scatter to the snowy woods.
November slides on black ice
toward light displays of hollow jollity,
No one pauses to see the hangry hawks
as the raptors scan flocks of shoppers
with their ever bleating lambs.
The hawks are not seeking us however,
they are hunting the fearful,
they see many such
as our minds cast their shadows
on a sheltering landscapes.
Who told me you're a lazy
They make me everything easy.
Who called me a crazy yak
They advanced me to mind work.
Who is defrauding me in the shop
They are teaching me to wake up.
Who is hurling at me words of pain
They are telling me to get ready to fain.
Who is interfering with my activity
They allowed the opportunity to involve in the jollity.
Whom looking at me with eyes of disparate
They notified me that you are differentiated from satellite.
Roses can be green
The globalized world is a grey blanket
the common language and culture (consumerism)
A haze of foul jollity and hollow laughter
lost minds, save elephants and waterholes
life is self-indulgent a rush into the arms of self
where the famous chef wears a toupee.
Roses are blue, the only colour of today
oxalate hamburgers, beans in tomato sauce
sesame seed for breakfast, lunch and dinner
Eunuchs are ruling the worldwide internet.
Ha, Ha, Ha.
Hee, Hee, Hee, Hee
False Laughter,
And forced jollity.
Anything false or fake.
I dislike,
And find it hard to take,
Where is the truth hidden,
Is it locked up somewhere?
Forbidden,
For all to share,
Why hide the truth,
That's not fair.
Fairness, where is that today,
Fakeness has got in the way,
Oy Vey!
Dismal indeed,
How we all need,
Some truth and laughter,
Back in our lives,
So we can survive,
And laugh with genuine laughter,
Perhaps that's the goal we should go after.
Ha Ha Ha, Hee, Hee, Hee,
The world will turn more peacefully.
What the world needs today is frivolity
Benign silliness of the highest quality,
Mixed in with various country’s polity
Will clearly enhance the planet’s jollity.
