Through life's clenched jaw
See, faced with no one,
yet in my mind I see him everywhere.
The best thing for me;
do not name it,
stitch my mouth,
say nothing.
But silence is never nothing.
Silence is the loudest thing he gives me.
What seizes the eye at once
makes the heart beat between lines.
Utmost, inexplicable, perpetual stimulation.
Now the wind blows mournfully,
and I let it.
Naturally,

Through Life's Clenched Jaw
Our proximity came with my age
And I only saw your later chapters,
though I saw myself in you.
Not unlike myself with ambition,
Homely peers and shouting,
The weight you did accrue.
Your aims changed a while ago,
And I added them to my own,
I saw your smile tighten,
But I let my feelings stew.
Fancy chains of gold, white veiled capture,
And,

Through Life's Clenched Jaw
teeth grind silently
in jaw's prison for sorrows
anger pressed to bone-
forgiveness waits at the gate
suppressed until victory
clenched lips hide the cry
parry what loud eyes don't see
masking every wound-
rage silenced by the anger
etched in muscle, bone, and brow
knuckles white, jaws locked
displays the relentless fight
in hate's epitaph-
yet while clenched, a jaw can't shout
a clenched fist can't grab a

A Brief Guide To My Jaw Harp
percussively
I think my way as rhythm
over cloud peaked tops
mountain points like metered dots
and on them stand and pluck, oh see
my breath transcends eternity
introspect
I aim my gewgaw outwardly
to a passing world
and yet it seems I’m not as bold
it searches inward with effect
I am my own play’s architect
meditate
a friend who soothes
who heals at home
I

Jaw Harp Man
see my hand it has a gewgaw in
and to my lips I kiss the day
with her sounds I repeat back
in overtones and harmonics
of a heart whose breath is wide
horizonal, for scope, there is scope
and much to fill with a beauty
of song and call and secretness
yet do I not keep the outside out
these harp

The Witch And The Jaw Harp
Geillis play for King James VI
pluck your jewes trump harp
you dance then prance
and twist your wrist
in tune and rhythm
through the mist
of song and on till dusk
the King delights with curious
a watchful eye
a witch be though
and lo still die
come hither, done
December, fifteen ninety one
oh Geillis Duncan hung

Jaw Harp Blues
listen to
her galaxies
the far away
her slow dances
listen to
the near and here
her melancholic
atmosphere
in what a world
may androids sing
metallic voice
or sheer the wind
yet I, the wind
oh restless be
and still, my harp
still me

A Jaw Dropping Experience
Went to the ROM last weekend
The Royal Ontario Museum
An absolute and total eye opener for sure
We, with our sophisticated smugness
With our feeling of superiority
Emboldened by today's amazing technological
Need to stop and take a look back
At the achievements of these artisans
From centuries gone by
Of generations with totally amazing skills
Without the aid of of today's modern technology

Old Jaw Harp
Aging man your shoes do not shine
upon jagged century’s wooden floor
scuffed, swollen leathers, buckles
not laces, bereft of brush that buffed
they tap your time, just time for you
where ghosts still walk and gather
to hear, in a back room on folk night
plucking on your jaw harp, your empty
pint stoic, but full to you, as is the

Jaw Harp
beyond the cartoon spring in Scooby Doo
like a stag on a mountain’s rippled rove
a dimensional wormhole letting feelings through
bringing words of secrets, a couple’s love
an instrument whose song comes from within
a pluck, the kiss upon the lips
my meditation, a distant lawn mowing
bring me syllables served in porcelain cups
and the shaman knew its cosmic worth
a healing

Let Him Drink More Punches
A time you must exploit
To have things for him spoilt;
To stop The Cynical,
His knockout ‘Technical’…
Let him drink more punches
And keep making bunches;
Soon, The guy you would waste
And His Hopeless Case rest…
More jabs to his soft head
To soon help him see Red…
He’d be hating himself
And you laughing yourself
You take the Center Stage
And he shall be All
