Best Jaw Poems
listen to
her galaxies
the far away
her slow dances
listen to
the near and here
her melancholic
atmosphere
in what a world
may androids sing
metallic voice
or sheer the wind
yet I, the wind
oh restless be
and still, my harp
still me

"You haven't a clue to what I'm talking about"
Perhaps that's not the best way to start off a piece.
Still I thought I'd warn you 'fore you opened your mouth,
this dire message of mine will be cryptic at best.
With rhythm and flow may you set your mind at ease,
for these words desire eager ears to stand the test.
Please allow me to pick your jaw up off the ground.
You've been gibb'ring nonsense ever since you read me.
Blind adoration in huge heaps like compost mounds,
clinging to all that my busy fingers writeth,
wasted on the teller instead of the story.
And thus the final words of a famous poet,
"You haven't a clue to what I'm talking about,
but allow me to pick your jaw up off the ground"

Went to the ROM last weekend
The Royal Ontario Museum
An absolute and total eye opener for sure
We, with our sophisticated smugness
With our feeling of superiority
Emboldened by today's amazing technological advances
Need to stop and take a look back
At the achievements of these artisans
From centuries gone by
Of generations with totally amazing skills
Without the aid of of today's modern technology
To help them in their endeavours
Just their hands and their inventive minds
The results of which were astounding
I stood there in awe
It was a totally mind blowing experience
Everyone needs to take a break and look back
It makes us realize what great things
The human mind has always been capable of
It was a jaw dropping experience!

Geillis play for King James VI
pluck your jewes trump harp
you dance then prance
and twist your wrist
in tune and rhythm
through the mist
of song and on till dusk
the King delights with curious
a watchful eye
a witch be though
and lo still die
come hither, done
December, fifteen ninety one
oh Geillis Duncan hung

Half past two: “BANG!” Thunder rolling, post, the lights
Insomnia now, made coffee, drank, to bed again, no frights
Boom! Vibrations of my bed, but still, there's nothing to dread
Just another thunderstorm experienced, from my bed
Three-AM. So quiet now, but wait! There stood a grey man
“Oh, no! Not you again.” Questioning, but he insisted his hand
And, like before, there is no choice, and off and away, we went
Parallel to the earth and up over heaven, so while flying; I repent.
And, as before, so many times, entering the mothership, are my kind
Some sleeping, some playing cards, some in surgery, Oh, my crazy mind!
Surely a dream, so, I ask, and no one answers, but vacantly stares, in fact.
“You, know the answers,” from within my mind, thus seeing, my body, intact
And, there I was, on mother’s ship, for several hours, plus more
Suddenly, my alarm echoes seven, from under covers; wondering, dreaming lore?
Got ready for work, with bags under eyes, disheveled, from astrums' soar
To somewhere else ~ that I've traveled, innumerable light years before

Growing up in purest innocence
Greeted as a friend
Groomed with a fine tooth comb
Grabbed unexpectedly
Groped involuntarily
Grouping parts of self
Gripping deeper fears
Grinding self image
Gritting teeth
Gryping of opportunity lost
Grifting gratification
Grappling with truth
Grieving childhood missed
Gripping reality loosely
Grousing silently
Graduating in faith
Grinning of small hopes
Granting mercy
Graced with love

No one prepares you for the fall
I never knew you grew that tall
When someone warns you of how much they care
Your heart begins to swell and tear
The excitement that someone could be in love with you
And maybe you could care for them too
So you lay awake at night
Trying to put up a fight
Against the feelings that nap just behind your eyelashes
Times goes by and it flashes
There you stand as it passes
With your heart in a pretty box for the masses
It happened without you even realizing what it did
Placed it there and closed the lid,
Your subconscious boxed it
And I involuntarily handed it over,
Before you passed me your heart
You unwrapped the decorations with care And opened the box without a tear
A sneer spread across you face
"Thank you", escaped you lips
As you devoured it
Raw and bloody
I never thought I would be so muddy
I feel so funny
All so empty
It didn’t agree with you stomach
My flesh was rejected from your tormented soul
And here I sit beside the pool of [your] sick
Picking out the remains left
Is there anything of me that can be saved Or is this all part of the twisted game?
It sure as hell wasn’t love.
I don’t know what this would even be called.
No one prepares you for the fall
I never knew you grew that tall
When someone warns you of how much they care
You heart begins to swell and tear
It happened without you even realizing it
You subconscious placed in there.
My own heart.

Climbing the mountain cliff,
Banging crazily led to foot slip,
Gone like a mad toggling mind flips what a new outlook trip!!
Frozen mind stopped like a clip, Slipped only little down yepp!!!
Felled to a new edge, Waited for a moment thinking out of cage
Now stopped mind blood flowing like a leeward gaze.
Cutting the edge of mountain with a new knife,
The sharpness has its own impact on life
Like a voice shrilling over high shout
As if the weapon with tempered music out.
The idea of falling down from a huge height
O my god!!!Give me courage to fight ,like a kite
like a free fall, face is turning from red green pale white
Now unable to see the ground sight, I know I am doing is not right.
Wake up dud wake up ohhh!!It was just a dream of night!!!!!!

My neighbor accused me when his truck was stolen.
He broke my jaw two months ago and it's still swollen.
I lost fifty pounds because my mouth had to be wired shut.
Even though I'm innocent, my neighbor still kicked my butt.
He bounced me around like a basketball.
I was no match for him because he's over seven feet tall.
The cops found the real crook and my neighbor knew I wasn't at fault.
He begged me for forgiveness but I still had that ox arrested for assault.
When he went to jail, his boss fired him and his wife left, it's sad but true.
When he is released, he will come looking for me and it will be round two.

see my hand it has a gewgaw in
and to my lips I kiss the day
with her sounds I repeat back
in overtones and harmonics
of a heart whose breath is wide
horizonal, for scope, there is scope
and much to fill with a beauty
of song and call and secretness
yet do I not keep the outside out
these harp filled moments
allow my alone to distant inwards
solitary in an openness of voyage
among this voice of many voices
for it is here in this everywhere
that soothes, that steals, that builds
and my direction honed, renewed
oh these moments pass too quickly
once I’m out of the eternity
but the whet and drive has thirst
see my hand it has a gewgaw in
and to my lips I kiss the day

percussively
I think my way as rhythm
over cloud peaked tops
mountain points like metered dots
and on them stand and pluck, oh see
my breath transcends eternity
introspect
I aim my gewgaw outwardly
to a passing world
and yet it seems I’m not as bold
it searches inward with effect
I am my own play’s architect
meditate
a friend who soothes
who heals at home
I play for me and my ear alone
a remedy of beats I incorporate
in my therapeutic style of late
sanctuary
my sound is that
of a honeyed waterfall
hear breath, it’s grace over boulders call
a harmonising of beauty’s key
be vibrant yet my soliloquy

I decided to draw,
A portrait of her jaw,
I can’t see it, I said,
And she turned her head,
Suddenly I saw.
