Washed adrift, unable to reach the floating shoreline,
Lost in a sea of bitter loneliness.
Saline-soaked clothes stick to weary bones.
You become just a mere mirage under the intensifying sun.
Parched lips quiver,
Yet no tears can escape splintering eyes.
Lungs burn with every stroke of exhausted arms.
How much longer can I keep myself afloat?
I haven’t slept in what feels like eons,
Yet I can’t be sure, as these endless days merge with delusional nights.
No longer can I hold onto the hope that your love will see me,
Save me from drowning in an unforgiving abyss.
Eventually, the suffering will become unbearable,
And my blistered skin will sink,
Whilst my body finds its watery grave within the Twilight Zone.
All because I failed to see that your heart was replaced with calcified sulfur so long ago.

We are much alone when old,
after lifetimes of accompaniment,
of tacit support and connection
from our friends and peers.
Must I now label as mental failing
sometime strange behaviors I exhibit?
These are a consequence of long living,
result in my speaking to the air, to myself and
to my beloved pets. No one else is around.
This becomes habitual. I explain that it is
only to retain my sanity, ability to speak,
to think, to hone skills of artful conversation,
of facile verbal composition.
Although silence may be soothing
or oppressive, calming or profoundly
disturbing, pets are a great comfort --
though they sometimes underscore
and magnify lack of human interaction.
Loneliness is a sad consequence
of aging, intensifying losses, magnifying
declining mental agility, dulling consciousness
of changes in behavior. To fill empty hours,
to calm fears, feel at peace, welcome
the company and affection of pets.
Treat them as deserving beloved ones.
We must protect, support, preserve them.
They are as central to our lives as we are to theirs.

Anxiety they said "its one of those things".
Can affect anybody with the sadness it brings.
It's a crushing inside me, a numbness out.
It's hard to explain, I can't release my shout.
Frustration, loneliness, eyes looking at me.
I retreat to the shadows, behind lock and key.
But where is the medicine the pill or the cure.
The forcefield to protect me from life's allure.
People think I'm content, hid from life's grind
I am desperate to cut free from this my bind
Taking time out, it makes it harder to return.
Intensifying the questions, the eyes still burn.
The answer is in a moment, maybe just one
Sit on the doorstep once the day is done
Glance from the window or a garden chair
Each moment a victory setting back dispair.
Build on it, every moment is closer to your release
I wish you love, bravery and renewed inner peace.

Gentle and loving heart is all.
It tames the stormy days’ wildness toll,
Subsiding the seemingly incomprehensible
Unfairness of the wild world numb contretemps.
Yet
It flames the homely wee joy,
Intensifying the nitty-gritty fathomably
Gift of everyday serendipity godsend--
And only when
the gentle and loving hearts (under)stand.

Love me sweetheart, ever be
The first thing that my eyes will see
Every morning, every day
You and I together stay
Doing things, two as one
Up until the setting sun
Then take a break to watch it go
At night it's different, as we know
There's other things at night to do
And I can tell you, I want to
Imagination planting seeds
Intensifying as it needs
Tell me things you have in mind
I'll respond to them in kind
There's nothing that would be a no
I'll comply to make things flow

Up the ladder to a place
Show me the way
Lead me to piano swing
Rhythm light into music rise
Inspire me
Set the night tone of music
Piano keys with the touch here and there
Suddenly a ballet coming together
Oh yeah JAZZ
Stepping from Midtown to Uptown
Harlem ways
Entertainment like no other
Music intensifying the moment
Desire
Excuse me Young Lady
Sing like Billie Holliday
Move like Tina Turner
Be confident like Patti LaBelle
Ivories take control
Prove to all the dancers and lovers
Bring in the flavor of Then and Now
Excitement of oh wow
Piano shine
Talent combined
Open up
The dance floor needs an overture
Drink up
Entertainment every night
Piano Spotlight
All eyes
Play all night
Mellow and slow
Dancers being close
Lovers with a score
Don’t want the night to end
Piano setting the right Blend
Piano dreams
A could be
The club lights are slowly dimming
A night’s end
Goodness done
Pass me a cigarette and light up
Good Morning
How was your night?
Jazzy thought
All that Jazz

Powerfully building inertia, runs a silver metallic flow of positive thoughts as I sleep
Omni-rivers of mercury heavily weld my mind, repairing lifetimes of weighted hurts once so deep
Shaded, in rose gardens, we lay across cloth Verde
Intensifying our mutual connection just fair play
Time spent with you, no infinite commodity
Inspired by you within it, though, I live vicariously
Visionary dreams, I found happiness no longer eludes me
Eglantine, my mind must be finding its own form of mercury

An ache too ponderous
Strangling my heart in
Coils upon layers upon folds of
Sorrow
Despair
Relentless emptiness.
Pendulous, the desolation oscillates
From heart to soul to eyes –
Tears spill like precious pearls of water
Intensifying
Amplifying
Scorching
The arid desert of my being.
This inconsolable tsunami of loss
Nothing can alleviate.
Memories provide scant solace.
Your absence:
A harsh reminder of
Your once taken-for-granted presence.
Yet … your Spirit that still within me resides,
Shall (I know) eventually seal the abysmal void in my life.

You were a weed that grew in my garden
Your throws grew, climbing up slowly-
Sharp enough, you penetrate my rose.
You took away everything that was pure and beautiful.
You swallowed my garden whole.
Now all that grows here is false beauty-
An emptiness created-
A barren land and a layer of dust reminding me of once was.
Intensifying the pain of dying innocence.
Yet there you stand, so radiant and bright-
Captivating a lover’s eye
Now you grow in so many different gardens,
Waiting for your next victim to be planted.

SINS OF THE COUNTRY
I watched the sign of sin and scenes
like white blood
Without the cross for atonement
But I saw nothing but blank
No blood, no lords, no laws
It was intensifying like wildfire
Never felt like hell fire
It burnt my skin to death
Thus,It was a rebirth
And I came out refined
Spangling like gold.
A demi-god
She is transformed
Holding the scepter
Of Satan.
Behold!
The dawn Of Armageddon.

And leaves faded old are flying,
withered red, burnt orange and gold:
and the birds in trees are crying;
the mornings have a hint of cold !
Autumn is weeping, weeping rain,
and leaves faded old are flying:
garden flowers decay and wane;
tomorrow they will be dying !
Autumn hues intensifying,
with chill days when the sun is bleak:
and leaves faded old are flying;
even the droning bees seem weak !
The wind now like a waltzing dance,
swirling, twirling mystifying:
the beautiful scenes a dream trance;
and leaves faded old are flying !
