Insomnia

Sleep eludes me
A winding serpent 
Iridescent and alluring 
In murky water.
I grasp for her but her crow feather sheen black
Scales glide through my fingers 
Like rough, cold, beautiful 
ink. 
Greased in memory-
she slips.
My mind is constructed,
Carved by her teeth
To mimic. 
Repeat
Repeat
Repeat. 
My mind is now of the same cloudy material,
Broken pen

Insomnia

Midnight,
Hoots and despondent howls
From crevasses of puking earth prompt weakness at slumber

Webs!
They encircle the pin-line threads of silence, viciously muted,
Drawing porous patterns of maladroitness

Dawn,
Loose drops of old water, cusp-sized, blend with the rays of the
Rising sun, smelting our principles.

Images,
Lachrymose consternations congeal the blood in our brows,
Stifling the grace of blinking lashes

And we lose patience.

Another
Restlessly
Wakeful night

Thoughts keep on
Dusk till dawn
Sleep walking

Close my eyes
One more try
Oo, popcorn!

trolled from a time post human extinction
it could only happen to you so-called
dead in your grave still tossing and turning
& scratching like a deviant
moldering and unquiet one hundred years now

Just those kind of nights

Slept throughout the day,  
Feels like I’ve slept through my life.  
Wide awake I lay—  
It’s just that kind of night.

I've become a spectator of my own life,  
Not a wink, even though I’ve turned off the light.  
Switching postures, counting sheep,  
Tried every last bit—  
I guess

Insomnia

Here I am again
Hours past midnight
Listening to the thoughts in my head
Will I sleep tonight?

The tick of the clock 
gets louder and stronger 
Conversations with myself
I can't take them much longer

I wish I could shut my brain off
And my heart would stop pounding in my chest
I want my nerves to stop jumping 
So my body

Aging

Aging

Problems with my joints
Problems with insomnia
Problems with my memory
Problems with my concentration
Problems with my energy levels
Problems with my taste buds
Problems with desire

Getting old is one big problem
One problem after another
This problem isn’t for the faint of heart
Well, at least I am still alive
And able to write bad poetry!!

Stop worrying if you have insomnia - it's not worth losing sleep over.

My overthinking

Do you ever lie in bed with the voices in your head 
Telling you their next plan 
Like a disease that doesn’t go away
But this time it’s in your head 

When it’s quiet and your reminded 
Of your mistakes the ones that never truly go away 

Sometimes I feel as tho if I shout out

by method of falling 
into sleep I count the things     I’d trade

                                     -would I die

I Can't get no sleep

I can't get no sleep.

It's driving me mad,
I'm going insane,
Feeling delirious, inside my brain.
Swivel-eyed, but it's not my end game,
Babbling incoherently, telling fables, lies,
Maybe one, maybe two.

Some say I'm unhinged,
Others think I'm crazed,
Certainly not sane, I'm lost in a daze.
My mind's a warped maze,
No way in, no way out,
What's that all about?

Distorted from reality,
Demented and

It's almost 1 am, and I, shipwrecked in insomnia

It's almost 1 a.m., and I, shipwrecked in insomnia,
lie with my eyes lost on the ceiling that silently tells its story,
listening to the monotonous murmur of a world that never stops,
even though within me, all the wheels have halted with a muffled grind, like a forgotten machine.
I've wandered here before, haven't I?
In this suspended space,

Insomnia is a crazy thing, it makes your mind race and spin
It lights you up when you should give in
My eyes are heavy my head feels dull
This is not the time I should sit and mull
Over things that I cannot resolve at this hour
Let me sleep, restore energy, recharge my power

Grasping Nightmare

Sleepless every night,
My mind's deprived of the light.
Even in midnight,
I can't sleep tight.

Sleep's always in delay,
It feels like a replay.
Can't rest even for a day,
I feel like my body starts to decay.

My eyes are heavy,
But I can't rest idly.
Every time my eyes shut, it's clingy,
It feels like a demonic entity.
