Insomnia TRIOLET

The stars are peeking down at me I'm dog tired, and begin to weep And still awake, it’s half past three The stars are peeking down at me The land of nod I crave to see I have given up counting sheep The stars are peeking down at me I'm dog tired, and begin to weep

Hi Jan, this suggests to me that the unfortunate person has a great deal of anxiety about something. It's remarkable how certain issues can keep us up all night long!! Your poetry says it all perfectly! Smiles!!

Beautifully, smoothy written. I wish I didn't relate to the feeling. Once I retired it went away. I always thought it was the alarm clock's fault.

Love it, Jan! What an wonderful take on this theme! As I had a restless night last night this made me smile - as you always do! Insomnia made into a poem! Congratulations on your win! Hugs and blessings!

Excellent! Enjoyed! I’ve never wept because I couldn’t sleep, but I have had some nights of insomnia. Congrats!

I really really relate to this one. That is why I just had to place it in top pile! It's humorous and very well written as well. Great job, Jan. Congrats

Words of woe, you've well described a restless night with no end. The triolet style was perfect for this lamentation.

Dear Jan, a well written triolet. I can feel the pain of insomnia in every line. Good luck with the contest :) Best, Anne

Such a good triolet, with limited lines I almost cried feeling the agony, frustration mounting (because in my imaginings the alarm will soon sound, 'time for work, get up, get up and strut.') I miss you, I shouldn't let that happen.
