Premium Member Trixie My Muse Keeps Me on the Edge of my Seat

her thoughts are mighty and marvelously influential to me.
I call her Trixie, my muse, she is truly the ultimate queen bee.
She won’t leave me alone, she’s like a dog with a hankering for duck.
How do you write so often? Other writers ask. Is it some kind of luck?

It is my muse, she is persnickety, tenacious and she must have her way.
She forces ten poems out of me every single solitary ordinary day.
If I want to sleep, she laughs me awake with a lovely ending line.
We don’t need any more rest she tells me, we will do just fine.

Her insistence and persistence keep me at the edge of my seat.
She wants a pen in my hand so often, I hardly have time to eat.
Trixie is my nemesis, but also my savior, she keeps me wild and free.
You see writing down my feelings is brilliantly therapeutic for me.

A poet must strive for perfection—his work is destined to reflect the world and his identity. With each line, he confronts procrastination head-on. With every verse, he engages in reactions, probations, and anticipation, leading to necessary debates and the reconstruction of his latest pieces, even in the face of favorable reviews.

I will read it out loud, or I will let it simmer, inviting others to sample my work. I recognize that too many thoughts and voices can be influential. Unlike a Sunday buffet, where the meal may be merely average, my poem is an ode—my work is my passion, and I will be a prolific composer.

Author's note: To be, or not to be; that is the question.

Premium Member Purple - An Analogy for Deception

the colour of the money stained my fingers
they’re no mere vignettes
but rather a cryptic cipher on a worn codex
the coin of acceptance amongst gilded sybarites
as the shades of the tenor of royalty beguile
then fade on labour-worn backs

preordained moves by shadow hands upon a chessboard
the influential players pandering to my wishful delusions
in ever incongruous shades of deceit
purple haze all in my brain*
while I try to kiss the sky

the reality flickers
ephemeral like the tint of reels of film
romantic views of life bathed in purple hues
anecdotes
clutched like a life raft
however, their veracity wasn’t challenged
but nevertheless
still a hypnopompic dream

Premium Member Imitating Abbey Road Cover

The most recognizable album cover in history, the photo of the
Beatles crossing Abbey Road, taken in the summer of sixty nine,
fifteen minutes before noon on August eight to be précised.
An iconic album cover for the image resonated with the fans.

There are wall posters of this photo and it seems men, my age,
in music industry have one in their living rooms or studios.
The photograph of the most influential band in the world walking
on a zebra crossing became one of the most imitated of all time.

I am one of those who imitated it five months ago, 19 of October
at eleven fifty in the morning, when we had photos taken crossing
Abbey Road, amidst a busy road in northwest London in St. John’s Wood
in the city of Westminster, outside Abbey Road Studios, formerly EMI.

We crossed Abbey Road in single file with me leading, followed by my
daughter and my granddaughter with our fourth person, my grandson
taking the pictures so he was not included, kind of disappointing.
How I wish we were there on October 9, John Lennon and my birthday.

MANIFESTO

MANIFESTO

Three words inscribed on a bullet
Finger on a trigger ready to pull it
This system that does not concede
Free healthcare at the point of need
Or each citizen having their own say
Then they express in their own way

It’s politically influential Big Pharma
That have a different kind of karma
Money not blood, is the circulation
Feeding each medical organisation
Donations keeps it just the way it is
Even when retribution begins to fizz

With certainties like death and taxes
Just where now indeed is that evil axis
Industries may be considered corrupt
As insurance fees are simply upped
What does it really take to lift the lid
Pushing the poor down the pyramid

Social medicine is seen as communist
The truth is diverted and then missed
It’s not capitalism in everyone’s sights
Or choosing to distort human rights
But money makes the world go round
Despite extortion often being found

Yet murder cannot justify a murder
Even in a kind of government purdah
A message has been sent, to be sure
Remember ‘Sicko’ by Michael Moore
And now the sense of injustice grows
From the words, Deny Defend Depose

October 30 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Luke 18-19

Key Verse – Luke 18:27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR MAKING THINGS POSSIBLE

Praise be to God for making things possible:
Against impossibilities by His power
Amidst interruptions with His purpose
Above infirmities upon His perfect plan
Away from iniquities through His pardon
Around the inspiration of His performance
According to instructions from His precepts
Assuring influential impact toward His praise

Luke 18:42 Praise be to the Lord for saving us:
Loosing us from sin’s disability
Liberating us against soul’s despair
Leading us from satanic destruction
Letting us learn from His Scriptures’ decrees
Lengthening our lives to serve Him with diligence

Luke 19:10 Praise be to the Saviour
for seeking us to:
Grant us His forgiveness
Guide us with His firm fervency
Govern us through His faithfulness
Grip us with His fortitude that frames our faith
Give us faith to face foes while focused on His fulfillment. Amen!

Friends I've Lost

Written By: D. Collins 10/20/24,

I will start with Cabbage, the one closest to me.
The little brother I taught, who was my family.
My Nigga for Life, who left me far, too soon.
A young brother who fell prey in the month of June.

Then, there's Granny, a beast within herself.
The best wine any man could pull from the shelf.
Standing 2-foot-2, and Gangsta all the way.
I wish that beautiful, black woman, was here today.

Let's not forget Jimmy, my influential Pop.
And, his father, we used to call Pee-Lot.
These were my Peeps who stood up for us.
And, until I am dead, I will show them love.

Please, keep away from my life your psychologist assassins. Goodbye

Please, don’t kill my life, you had enough time to get my life. Still yours
I loved you. You know me. An amateur photographer and poet loved…

In every kingdom a king will rule strong, some kingdoms they rule alone but are usualy strongest and more influential with a queen by there side! Kings will go through battles each that define who they are and shaped who they become, force of power, a government in its own? But what happens when the queen nolonger wishes to support there king and betrays his trust, fear of he's got too much power over her or jelious of his control over there kingdom they built together? If she decides to throw the king and put a end to his ruling by sabatoge or destroying him from behind the shadows while still pretending to honer her king while secretly destroying him? Each king is always destroyed by support of people they trust most, few have survived such a betrayal as this and stayed a strong king needed for the kingdom build at his feet? Without his queen being a strong king is diminished quickly, chance of redemption and finding a new queen is so rare!! And much needed to rise as King again, replace what is lost, rise up as King to your kingdom before it's completely stricken from your grasp, your life as King depend on it! We’re all important in different and various ways
But we shouldn’t ever get to caught up in our own significance
or self-importance
Whatever we believe, we are transient

Whatever pigeon hole, box or compartment of our lives, we are transient

Friends, strong friends, we may bump into but rarely do we seek or
be sought out with any regularity
We hear ourselves say “we should do this more often”
but we rarely do
We are all guilty

Work environments, once left, people quickly fade
An acknowledgement that the world moves on
Quite rightly so
We are transient

Even with families, that most permanent of connections,
time erodes any permanence
Most can remember our parents and even grandparents
but how much beyond that
We are all of us, transient

Our lives are relatively short, for most our legacy is even shorter
Very few people have any form of permanence in history
This doesn’t mean we are irrelevant

To the contrary
We can be important and influential in a number of ways
It’s important to remember
Who you are
What you are
How you are

Be true to yourself but know life for what it is
In not so many years, no one will know any of this

Premium Member WITH POETRY, I CAN WRITE ABOUT

Assertive altruism always devoid of arrogance
Benefits, bountiful to share with blessed elegance…

Caring disposition midst compassionate heart forever
Devoted, dedicated commitment, wavering never…

Earnest faith smiting every challenge toward victory
Fervent trust conquering all trials against misery…

Goals that can prosper mankind against greediness
Hope hoisting prisoners to soar midst freedom-graciousness…

Influential force liberating the captives from ignorance
Justice of impactful truth guiding against deceit’s appearance…

Kindness so much to practice beyond functional limit
Love verily overflowing, being exercised every minute…

My reason is to write about divine virtues while reality prevails
Now, I testify that my poetry is inspired by God* Who never fails…

Oh, the Lord I ask for miracles in my muse along His might
Praying that my poems please HIM with my grateful delight.

*Deuteronomy 32:3 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
