like and ancient relic from a distant past
the faded carbon copy of who he never was
a meaningless error in the history of humankind
and yet there is hope of finding out truths
about life suffering miracles and mostly himself
Back in my younger days
I wanted to make an impact,
with my skills and tact,
to impress with knowledge and facts,
hoping I could attract
young minds and bring out their untapped
potential.
I thought "I want to be of service",
but when I saw the response, I got nervous,
often confronting interference
ignorance and indifference.
My idealism slowly faded,
replaced by something more jaded.
My desire to impress
often led to stress
to the point where, I guess,
life became a bit of a mess!
As I got older,
I realized that it was I who had to change
and stop trying to rearrange
my world and all within it.
I wanted to stop feeling deflated
and to enjoy life a little less complicated.
It took quite a while to achieve perspective,
but a benefit of aging is the chance
to be reflective and introspective.
In spite of what a few have said
I know that I am filled with good
and can rise above any falsehood.
My life is still a work in progress,
and my goal of self-improvement
is a very enriching process.
as life happens we react
then sense consciousness contract
which is good because we learn
to overcome ego’s burn
though life seems like a circus
we are here for a purpose
and when love’s flame is steady
to meet God we are ready
Just how could no one, not understand this
Why is the world so full of uncaring greeds
Will we ever realise the earth more than this
It can always provide everyone's own needs
What we leave behind tomorrow is our choice
Sharing the earth bounty should be the choice
Was there ever a reason to steal this land
There's too much that no one needs to own
To take everything, then leave a barren land
Leaving behind a place where's nothing grown
It's time to stop this sense of needless greed
Nothing, worse wasting more than you need
Though born a sinner, I shall be…
A saint of God eternally.
By Faith in Christ, great Hope I see.
He is not finished yet with me.
Though trials test and pain abound,
His grace and mercies are my glee.
His arms of comfort doth surround.
He is not finished yet with me.
Though sickness deals a heavy blow
The great Physician hears my plea
He works in ways I cannot know
He is not finished yet with me.
Though loss has robbed me many times
He restores me so faithfully
I know He’s steadfast every time
He is not finished yet with me.
Though sadness comes, I never doubt
His Word is my security.
From weeping then to joys I shout
He is not finished yet with me.
Glimpses of truth revealed from time to time,
whilst useful, does not signal soul’s ascent,
having neither etched in heart God’s love chime,
nor granted bliss our unreserved consent,
onslaught of lust, unable to prevent.
Flickering awareness, a half measure,
for there are attachments we still treasure
and so at best it’s still work in progress,
as we become nonchalant to pleasure,
God’s light making ingress as we undress.
AI touch up is now in progress
Be careful though not to lose focus
One wrong blink and here they come
He is now she and I am now he
The worlds gone crazy its safe to say
But how on earth did it get this way?
Everyone wants to fight
Nobody wants to look to the light
AI in progress is being cheered
But when did an opinion become weird?
They lock you up now just for standing
Whilst others roam and climb a mountain
Whites vs browns is now the rhetoric
But its OK when your all wearing a Nike tick
We cheered them on, but it didn't come home
Instead this world is now all blown
Little girls lost their lives
Making bracelets for a concert in sight
They just wanted to dance, sing, laugh and play
But that was all taken away
AI in progress gets louder each time
But are we going to toe the line?
The problem is not just white vs colour
That should never have ever mattered
AI in progress is now here
But long gone are the crowds of cheers
AI in progress that is now life
AI in progress.....are you ready to fight?
AI touch up now in progress...
Be careful not to lose focus......
WORK IN PROGRESS
Why wait for a muse to get inspiration
When the words are there in your head
If not in the brain, perhaps in the heart
As seat of emotion and passionate drive
Where all feelings must escape to thrive
Creativity fails if reliant on concentration
Try detachment and an open mind instead
Ideas always find you, they need no chart
For that special connection one must strive
And free thinking can keep that hope alive
New ideas may emerge from recreation
Some fly away, others are heavy as lead
But capture and nurture is a good start
With no limits to depths one may dive
For old and dusty words one can revive
Short term memory loss is an aberration
And rapid recovery may work as is said
But it is like pulling all the strands apart
Yet creative success can suddenly arrive
Much better than what fate can contrive
Any finished written piece brings elation
Despite the stamina meter dial in the red
Yet celebratory drinks can taste a bit tart
Was it your own work or that of the hive
As there’s still no good rhyme in line five
I walk up to the microphone,
it’s one of those old-time microphones
that almost hides the face.
As yet my unspoken words
are pauses between mute lips.
I am a work in progress,
layers have to peel away
until I can see my true self
in any mirror.
Like all mystics I am expendable,
a surplus voice in a menagerie
of other sounds.
When you get right down to it
our survival is for love of self
an idea that comes with
multiple flawed contradictions.
What we believe in, is someone else
for it is hard to have faith in a self
that keeps changing into
former versions of its being.
I tap the huge microphone,
to test for audio fidelity,
then with a sigh
walk slowly off the stage,
as If
I had never entered.
Work In Progress
The pieces of me scattered
By my trying hand
They disappear so fast
Clinging to the last
Shred of who I am
Keeping everything inside
That shouldn't have to be
Closed an open book
Without a second look
At the words that make me, me
Can't do right by everyone
Least of all myself
In a world where nothing's free
I fight for more than me
Cost of well being and health
It's just a work in progress
Hours punched and tithed
I may still come to fail
To adjust my wind to the sail
But at least I'll say I tried
Amidst the chaos of my soul,
A vision takes hold.
A dream born from within,
A story waiting to unfold.
A world of wonder and beauty,
Where love and peace prevail.
A place where kindness is currency,
And hate and anger fade.
The colors vivid and bold,
The scenery, breathtaking and wild.
The air, crisp and pure,
And the breeze, gentle and mild.
The people, diverse and unique,
Yet united in their shared quest.
To build a world that they seek,
Where everyone feels at rest.
But this vision is still in progress,
A work in constant motion.
It takes effort and dedication,
To bring it to fruition.
So I work each day with purpose,
For this vision to become real.
And with every step I take,
I move closer to its ideal.
For I know that anything is possible,
If I believe and manifest.
And with this vision as my guide,
My life will be forever blessed.
Putin your tyranny we know is so strong
For even your people can't ever deny it
Through peace your walls will crumble
Upon peace sword for you will stumble
Peace is what the world know's so strong
Something inside so strong we'll defend
For our democracy it will be our victory
Peace it is never so wrong we'll defend it
Was listening to Labi Siffre something so
strong felt these words through it
A- Alibi for a pen in hand.
R- Raw emotions, hard to register.
T- Thinking for hours in good terms, about impossibilities
S- Still in possession of a beating heart.Dreamy and vulnerable.
I- In awe of pain, hinting and referring to more pain, forthcoming.
N- Naked naivety in abundance. An undertone. Once gone, gone forever.
P- Pure pressure. A Seepage in life. Everywhere, every way.
R-Raw emotions, hard to register. Still repeating, still poking… even though it hurts.
O- Often a one-time motivation. Reflected, imparted, and sometimes donated.
G-Good gracious nature of hopefulness in anonymity, a charm of a poet in gullibility.
R-Raw emotions-thawing with a touch, love and life. Sensual and innovative.
E- Evocative. Truthful. And passionate.
S- Serenity of drizzling words.
S- Simplicity, in healing hands. Loving and caring.
A deep yearning with a misfit reason.

At the river song in progress
She was walking on watercourse side
Upright I was just there I cry
Our aperture optic orbs spied
Each other's visual spear
oh! I come as a river song
As I stand here I come
The words of angels beloved I sing
Sing a river song
Come with me darling
Singing come, come along
come along
We see each other
Let's walk along edge of rivers edge cover
Where we stand on the edge
at a river song in progress
Come with me darling
Saying come come along
Come along
Start across standing on the rocks
We walk closer together we stop we talk
I must go I shall show
She's a beloved angel
Embracing and starstruck giddiness sturdy
I will go
I must go
I shall show
Show her my ways
It's time for me to embrace her
As we walk we talk on the land
alongside the Riverside
As we both whisper water I spy
By my side a woman
We bring together
We sing in harmony In progress at the River song
Just two persons in progress singing the river song

Written words by James Edward Lee Sr & Paris-Maree Boreham ©2022
When I saw him at the river
Saw him standing there
With dark brown eyes- I mesmerised
His jet black fuzzy hair
He stepped in a canoe
And sang a river song
Come with me darling
Singing come, come along
Come come along
Though I knew there were crocs
On the sand and the rocks
And with spun vertigo
I yelled back I can’t go
My love I can’t go
I can’t go
I gotta go
Time to go
There are crocs on the rocks
on the sand, on the land
I can’t go
I gotta go
Time to go
