Screwtape Letters
31 Letters

Just notes
Consider this...
If you cannot yield to text and scripture
He cannot bare score
C L takes us where?
Two years. studies of Greek and Latin classics

What we cannot see in the spiritual world

Screwtape, Devil, The Father Below
in an ice cubicle
mans is all around him
To love or Not to love God
This is the choice He's given man
and it works for The Devil as well

His nephew Wormwood
Lower Archy must be taught!

The Patient, agnostic
does convert to Christianity
He can't see that spiritual side
not from the museum in its library
he is sensible
Togas and sandals? Ah!
Largely pictorial, anticlimax
Let-downs

Letter #3
Goal: Patient and mother
How to poison the relationship
Poison the mind of the patient's mother
Self-examination, can't you here yourself?
Perceptive, weakness's
malice for each other
the key here is to cause
 both to be annoyed
inflame, focus on the soul (defects)
and not the pain itself

The devil is a liar, don’t believe Screwtape

Letter#17
 'One human Wormwood guide'
Triful naive arguments
A dozen incompatible
Jargon not argument
Material things Stark or courageous
Argument lets God argue as well
Twisted thoughts occur

Keep the Focus

From zero to fresh focus:
No fads or "hocas-pocas,"
Occult tricks, nor superstitions,
Just go to Boot-Camp not institutions.
It's not about me.
It's to take a stand, you see,
A life if convictions;
Real-life risks, no fictions,
In live with Father-God and Jesus,
His Only Son that can free us,
Unaffected by criticisms, just in Love
With other and their dialogues; all the above
Seeing hearts heal brokenness and change
With no pretense, our focus rearrange,
Processing seriously but not redundant
With you in joy abundant!
Unseen injuries make it hard work
The fears lurk!
What is expected or appreciated,
Not just reactions with heart emaciated?
Bring closure and see a prologue
To nearing the goal, remove the "log,"
Rebound in faith, never be a snob,
Nor sarcastic or the Mob.
So keep your focus and the Power
Of the resurrected Christ in your tower.
Self-control is gain
Like waiting, it's a pain!
But keep your focus clear.
Hear God's music in your inner-ear.
Yes, we are all a-work-in-progress.
It's safe and fine to regress.
To vulnerability and keep involved.
Healing doesn't need all problems solved.
There's no natural-born leader.
In time we can also be a feeder.
So conquest the temporal and material.
Move in rebuilding the empire
Let Jesus' Way be your pick.
Don't be a lonely cynic
Give others the benefit of the doubt
Wear a smile, not a pout.
Banish the evil of a derailed life
The enemy tries to bring in strife
Like the striking snake it'll be too slow
For you fly high; it's too low!
So prepare for success.
Diligently sort the mess
All the way to the end.
Sign the Pledge not to bend;
To act, rebound, giving credit and devotion.
Like a sweet perfume or lovely lotion.
In prayer and fasting let negatives go
Study the Bible's fine print and know
That the challenge and the focus brings
Support, Light and salt-quality that sings!
Can you say what you feel?
In sincerity will your friendships seal?
We will find the common ground.
Honor and respect will be found.
If there's no logic nor gentle calm,
Will we feel the Spirit's balm?
Even pillow-fights will irritate,
The time move on with fate.
Surprises will loose their fun
With that Special Someone!
So, brace yourself, focus and move.
Soon your success you will prove
With All glory given to the Lord,
Never more to be bored.

Work In Progress

She!
Intimated by guilt broken by perplexity
Waiting for the love her life but until then,
committed to memories of forlorn moments
Threading on the joy rides of halcyon days.

Her!
Heart of a woman in the depths solitude
Plunged and played by people she called friends
Lonely soul tormented even by happy melodies
In her emptiness void her soul forever shivers.

He!
Four and half years in self enclosed walls
Loosing very essence of youthful love in a rage
Finally tumbled down the walls of solitude blind
Enclosed soul spirited away into the blues

Man!
Living in the love of the common people
Somewhere in the back streets of the slums
Upholding the dream of becoming a hero
With nothing more than hope and love from above.

Woman!
Years upon years of sitting at lecture rooms
Graduated with a class but no pass for a job
You know the norm of the day
If it’s not in she won’t be on board
Keep calm hold onto your faith
God is at work .

You!
Balancing ambition with conscience
On the road less traveled.
A tapestry of soul breaking fortuity
That eyes the very core of your maturity.
The start ups ,the gigs and realities you quest,
Gradually you will get there .

I
In my simple form in rolling waves
Light hearted or heavy ladened
With poetry or with spoken words
Even in my nothingness and in my woes
I will forever defy the cryptic void of silence.

She will smile .
Her heart will find home .
Man will find love .
She will be a wife ,A woman of dignity.
His dreams will come true.
Hold on to you faith and let’s go and get it,
Everything we’ve been dreaming.
God have our backs

We!
We are a work In progress
There will be fails but we will never regress
Steady and gradually we will evolve
In love and in laughter all the pain will dissolve
In due time when we are done,

They will thread here to see
From far and near they will travel over the seas
The atheist will sing hallelujah
The doubters will lurk in their disbelief
Our tales will be history
Our memories will be legacies
For we are a work in progress; Winners
within.

Premium Member A Dream, I Dream

there are no guarantees in this life
(will there even be a tomorrow?)
each day is a gift
and I have learned to live in precious moments
as days unfold . . .
and I am excited and grateful
for one more dawn, one more day

I do have some wishes and dreams though
(not big ones really)
and one is to be . . .
the best writer and poet I can be in my lifetime
(it is a work in progress, half way there !)
my grandma is the reason I am a writer at all
she encouraged a little girl to "write it"
"write it, for the world to read"
from silly little girl scribbles to real poetry
a poet was born . . .

I dream of a world free of this pandemic we have
for a vaccine available to every single person on earth
and when the travel restrictions are lifted
and I can breathe without a mask restricting me
I want to explore my own country
from coast to coast
the vast and beautiful Canada
her crystal clear rivers and lakes
her green lush forests
find the northern lights
my native roots . . .
and even visit France the home of my ancestors
it is just a dream I have . . .
and to sketch and paint the birds and flowers
I encounter along the way
keeping a nature journal of my journey
of this bucket list dream . . .

and maybe one day to find love again
for my life is a garden ravaged since death took
my one true love, it is time
and it is another dream
I dream _

First Place

an emotional wreck - more or less

I have been missing your peck
On my cheek, I put it on check
I’m an emotional wreck, wreck
And it’s barely July 2nd, 2024, gimme just a sec!
Gimme a sec, gimme a sec, sec, sec

Stuck in a thousand ruts, listen to your guts
Shut the front door and give me no more buts
About it, about it, about it, about it now
I’m taking a bow, though I fail greatly somehow

I landed an emotional wreck, wreck, wreck
Gimme a break and I’ll wake up eventually
I understand you’re stranded a wreck, wreck
Give it a sec and we will receive gratification genuinely
I noticed I was an emotional man
When I couldn’t do what I can
When I manage to not drive a van
I feel like a trash can more or less
I feel like I’m in total distress in progress
I’m an emotional wreck, wreck, wreck regardless

I have been missing your embrace
I feel sweat beat against my face
I have been lost with a single trace
Just to receive gratifying vast grace
Vast grace, vast grace, vast, past grace
Still feel like a disgrace…take pace with affection
Laced with a little progress in the right direction

Stuck in a thousand ruts, listen to your guts
Shut the front door and give me no more buts
About it, about it, about it, about it now
I’m taking a bow, though I fail greatly somehow

I landed an emotional wreck, wreck, wreck
Gimme a break and I’ll wake up eventually
I understand you’re stranded a wreck, wreck
Give it a sec and we will receive gratification genuinely
I noticed I was an emotional man
When I couldn’t do what I can
When I manage to not drive a van
I feel like a trash can more or less
I feel like I’m in total distress in progress
I’m an emotional wreck, wreck, wreck regardless

There’s still hope
Don’t you dare mope
I won’t say nope
Laughter and bliss is dope
Hand me a rope
I’ll hang it as I cope
With these mixed emotions…you’re my motivations
Vexation is temporary, so mix positivity potions
Panic and pain will disappear in no time
Oh, we won’t be in a rut anymore, anymore
Vain talk and our mind train will be in its prime
When we get rid of emotions that hurt us to the core

I have been missing your peck
On my cheek, I put it on check
I’m an emotional wreck, wreck
This week has been a major wreck that geeks us out, seek hope out
This week has been a major pain in the rearend without a slight doubt

UNFINISHED PORTRAITS

the church is a hospital for sinners
not a hospice for saints
as we're all unfinished portraits
that God must continuously paint

unfinished portraits
perched on the easels of life
waiting to be stained
with the sacred blood of Christ

none of us are perfect
we're all works in progress
Trying and striving
to do our very best

unfinished portraits
perched on the easels of life
waiting to be stain
with the sacred blood of Christ

let our hearts, minds and spirits
be lifted up by His mighty hands
let our canvases be anchored
on godly anointed stands
lengthen us oh Lord
color in our blank space
strengthen us oh Lord
as we relish in Your grace

unfinished portraits
perched on the easels of life
waiting to be stained
with the sacred blood of Christ

we now stand in awe of He
the one who dwells above
just let us never forget His infinite mercy
and unwavering love

unfinished portraits
perched on the easel of life
waiting to be stained
with the sacred blood
of our Lord Christ

A lonely soul, I haunt this peopled earth;
     and ever solitary, I beside
remain untreasured and ne'er knowing mirth.
Woe am I! For wherefore do I confide
in Thee, O Lord? For, alone and unloved,
I perish day and night, year after year:
for You have not willed my dearly beloved;
but, sick of my requests, turned a deaf ear.
Be that as it may, Poesy's a comfort,
a just redeemer and a savior:
whose craft provides spiritual life-support;
and sustains my poor heart like no lover.
O Lord, though I have found a new mistress;
have grace on me as a work in progress!?

The Beheading of Thomas

Let the clowns play on heathens dirt floors
With the rabble and unwashed masses

The Squires shall reside above
With men at arms and knights of superior glove

Allegiances to kings and royal courts
Let the bishops sort out the cohorts

Be deceived not by those with no letters
Saying they are poets for the better

They worship their own idol minds
While the wise ones seek out their own kind

Seekers who only find battle
Silent ones who preach with loud voices

Forewarning to the masses
You have better choices, forget their pretentious classes

Walk among the islands grazing sheep
Contemplation rewards the humble and meek

Trumps Rubies may shine today
Under rubble I assure you

They shall be one day

This is America,
and she is complicated.
She's a dream, an idea, an ideal.
She's an experience, a work in progress.
Sometimes her justice cries and screams.
Her sounds are heard, but no one listens.
As we strive toward equality and justice,
evil tides from the deep often pound our shores,
and as a nation, we often stumble and fall,
but with the yeast of justice, we always rise.

This is a family.
We fight and feud sometimes,
but we shall not go backward.
We shall find our way forward
and face our monsters and skeletons.
Though not all will heed nor want to succeed,
still, we shall root out hate, bigotry, and greed.

This too shall pass
If the policy is wrong, we shall righten it.
Neither demon, devil, nor mortal shall stop us.
We shall decern and discover our fruited trees of demons,
whereupon we shall not pamper, placate, nor prune them, but we shall cut them down to the roots and plant new healthy ones.
Yes, God guiding and leading us, we will cast out our many demons.

Train Your Reality

Life isn't perfection,
It's progression,
Reflection and correction,
Direction and intention,
An invention in progress,
The process unique for each,
To teach others what we learn,
Burning through experiences,
Earning a degree in chance,
Dancing to your own beat,
The cycle is set on repeat,
You cant retreat,
Treat it like a treasure,
Full of unknown pleasures,
Ensuring a packed experience,
Backed with Conscience,
The consensus is clear,
Love is the way to steer,
Through the fear of choices,
An inner voice you hear clear,
Navigate by how you feel,
The real question,
Lies within your intention,
A dimension of emotions,
The locomotion of reality,
Carrying the remains,
The train of thought is free,
You bought a ticket to ride,
It goes where you decide.
