You use sex to live as a means to pay
Attention not to mention evade escape
Any responsibility in bills mortgage or rent
Pretending to love like you are heaven sent
You’re good at what you do making lovers a fool
Only thing you own between your legs a tool
Like butter your words melt like moth to flame
You sleep earn your keep playing mind games
Often attractive at least in their ebony eyes
But what if wisdom strikes they denim decide
To face teal truth look within them within you
find what is worthy of being used blue truth
You say you watch the kids instead of work
Not to say homemaker’s job isn’t God’s work
But you’re not an asset rather a dependent
You’re healthy not wealthy without even tent
Too lazy to work you don’t even panhandle
The nerve to be a jerk feelings manhandled
You’re like a lime leech sucking money green
And resources you eat don’t provide anything
You must grow inside pull your own weight
Have you ever tried to be an adult any day
Mental health issues are no excuse to fake
If I see you others do too make honest way

Where do you work, what is your career?
Well, I'm glad you asked, I have many titles it would appear.
I'm proud of these titles, non of which require a degree.
One of my favorite titles is mom of three.
I'm a homemaker, a cleaning lady, a chef, and a maid;
a run the monsters away when they are afraid.
I'm a librarian and teacher of every subject;
a cheer leader and manager of every school project.
A counselor, a therapist, both physical and mental;
a manager of any and all incidentals.
One may also call me a chauffeur.
Some days all this driving seems much like a blur.
I'm an event planner and activities director,
and I'm putting my years in for debt collector.
A private investigator, a hostage negotiator,
a disciplinary, and a mediator.
A soul protector, security, a body guard;
and a safe place to go when life gets too hard.
I'm a personal shopper, a stylist and a hairdresser;
a go-to for advice when they want to impress her.
I'm a wife to the most wonderful husband and father;
and a listening ear when something's a bother.
Last but not least, I am a spiritual guidance;
a child of God who will always follow in His abidance.

God be praised for our Pastor’s wife
Virtuous woman* exuded by her countenance
Paragon of spiritual lady’s blest fullness indeed
Fulfilling roles with feminine elegance
Graciously living according to Bible creed
Meeting her family's maternal need.
The Lord be thanked for our Pastor’s wife
Possessing faith of steward with servant-heart qualities
Steadfast as a loving mentor of godly influence
Caring teacher and discipler marked by truth-verities
Diligent homemaker as well as prudent* spouse in her reigning prevalence
Midst her mother and grandmother's joyously cheering presence.
Dear Ma'am Dhel,
Blessed birthday to you. We thank God for your life. You are a blessing to us.
*Proverbs 12:4 - A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones. Proverbs 19:14 - ... a prudent wife is from the LORD.

She has arrived
A flash of shadowed eyes
Masks a simmering coolness.
A collective breath ensues.
A trail of rainbowesque mystery
Shimmers about her
Roses pale as she brushes past them,
Geese concede in “V” farewell salute.
She commands the room
Enthralls, entices, entraps
Both willing and reticent.
She cannot help herself
It is her fate
Her gift and her curse.
She is neither harlot
Nor homemaker
She is but the aura of Autumn.
She has arrived.
She is October.

A sweet homemaker named Shelly Gorde
with her laundry and cleaning was bored.
She imagined a beach
with a sea within reach.
Rode her ironing board like surfboard.

Synonym of love, sent by God from above;
Address of affection, a perfect creation;
Patience personified, sacrifice epitomized;
Combination of all roles, an oasis to all souls;
Matchless forgiver, besides a perfect life-giver.
To her kids a fond mother, can’t find like her another;
Unparalleled caretaker, an ideal homemaker;
Source of abundant joy, knows not any ploy;
Ever appears so polite, conscious of everyone’s plight;
Has confidence so sublime, competes even with time.
Though she starves, her family, well she carves;
To the core she is viceless, her services are so priceless;
Knows no holiday, found busy everyday;
Solving every family strife, radiates each one’s life;
Melts like a candle slowly, giving everything wholly.

You may have known her as fable or fiction
But she was as real as deep blue oceans
And glorious dawns of rising golden sun;
Not quite blessed with grace of humanity
Hurting miserably in wounded dark alleys--
One among many--misdeeds of destiny
Trapped within inescapable pathos of society.
Like summer storms that churn hazy winds
And sound of glum-thunder ignites lightening,
Formidable was trauma of her throbbing beats
Haunting heart sorrowful, wistful, and lonely
Each time she looked up and dared to breathe.
Silently she stood there at gate of misery
Solitary like a tombstone no one ever visits;
A mother, a sister, a daughter, a homemaker
In plain sight on some corners of the world
Where echoes of quietude often got ignored.
Hurting miserably in wounded dark alleys,
Solitary like a tombstone no one ever visits,
Silently she stood there at gate of misery;
Face of the faceless --she was Eleanor Rigby.

I cook but no one eats.
I bring my offerings to pot-lucks.
But no one wants to be lucky.
I take it home, without a spoonful gone.
I make surprise casseroles.
They are a glorious testament
To everything we have had to eat that week.
My husband eats before he comes home.
I bake and people laugh.
Once I made an inedible cake.
My twin and cousin rolled it into balls.
They bounced all over the sidewalk.
It was from a cake mix.
My mother asked how I had done it.
No one could eat it, but we played with it all day.
If I knew how I did it I would do it again, and often.

Hillary R. Clinton is a “woman of substance”
Paragon of lady’s great empowerment indeed
USA’s Former President’s wife of intellectual elegance
Gracious public servant of Democrat-creed
Meeting her constituents’ lawyering-need.
Politician with sterling qualities
She’s a steadfast diplomat, affirmed by her global influence
Writer and public speaker of education impact-verities
Homemaker as well as spouse in her reigning prevalence
Dearest mother and grandmother along her pampering presence.

Edith was a saint in every sense of the word.
Things she endured today would be considered absurd.
Edith was a homemaker who stood by her man so near.
She tried to make Archie happy and keep him with a beer.
Archie was an old school, hard working type of man.
He didn't take to change and few people he could stand.
Archie was abrasive as sandpaper, Edith gentle as a dove.
Archie was a bigot that only a naive dingbat could've loved.

Fight hard
as long as you're not too defensive
or worse, stronger than him
so we can't tell that he hit you
so we don't have to pick up your slack
Speak your mind
as long as your voice isn't louder than his
or worse, too assertive or contradicting it
so you say something worth listening to
so he can get his word in edgewise
Make it rain
as long as you don't make more than him
or worse, take his
so you're not a gold digger
so you can't get out from under his umbrella
Be a damsel
as long as your inevitable distress doesn't cause unrest
or worse, distract from his
so you know how to fend for yourself
so we don't have to hear you whine
Stay in shape
as long as your muscles aren't too bulky
or worse, bigger than his
so you're easy on the eyes
so you don't hurt his pride
Seduce sweetly
as long as you're not a ****
or worse, a whore
so he wants you
so you think that's what your worth is
Make this house a home
as long as you don't forget who makes the bread around here
or worse, forget to put his dinner on the table
so that you're a good homemaker
so that you have no valid claim to what he makes
Be everything
Be nothing

She works around the clock it seems
Washing clothes and cleaning things.
At times content, at times despairing,
But always there and always caring.
Taking on the daily tasks,
Responding to the voice that asks:
“Mom, have you….” you know the rest.
But do you know how mothers bless?
Mothers run a home, that’s true.
But there’s much more to what they do.
Beyond the making of a house
They make a life, they lift a spouse.
They raise up doctors, raise up teachers.
They raise managers and preachers.
They raise architects, and builders,
Soldiers, presidents, center fielders.
Every daughter, every son;
The homemaker shaped every one.
Our lifetimes bear a mother’s seal,
Because mothers, make love real.

Maybe you shouldn't send the letter
Argued counsel in my head
But the moral compass pointed
Toward transparency instead
I have always walked the straight path
From the time I was a boy
To the noble and the righteous
Revelation brings but joy
There's no gangster or homemaker
President or CEO
That is going to subvert justice
Not while I am on patrol
Now the careless and the reckless
Not necessarily a crime
To you I'll give a warning
Do not cross me one more time
Like apocryphal Washington
If it's a lie I cannot tell
Inclusive of the truth withholding
It is I who sounds the bell
There is too much information
Some is fresh and some is not
I'll call an investigation
And we'll find out what is what
Maybe I overreacted
Turns out there's nothing to see
Let us have it all redacted
This revolution's not on me
