milk, eggs, shellfish
three common allergies
I know a family who lost a two-year-old son to milk
almonds, walnuts, peanuts, wheat and soybeans
five more common allergies
if you open a peanut butter jar, it can be deadly to some
my nemesis is hazelnut
after consuming, my throat closes up
I am wheezing and can barely breathe, needing my inhaler
English walnuts are a close second for me
after eating them, my mouth erupts into giant canker sores
all around my gums
something else creates hives in me.
We do not know if it is a food or what.
allergies seem to go hand-in-hand with having asthma
other symptoms of food allergies are
itching of the mouth, vomiting, and wheezing
Food allergies are serious; sometimes epi pens are necessary.

I do enjoy imbibing a vintage libation
now and again (and again, and again)
but when I thought I'd bought
the best bottle of Bordeaux money can buy,
then looked at the label on the back,
before pulling the cork, I nearly had a heart attack.
'Characterised by a great body,' it stated,
'velvety cedar and hazelnut texture,'
but my taste buds went unsated,
'with an intense deep ruby red colour,' to summarise,
'possesses exceptional aromas of cherries,'
and much to my surprise,
'with hints of vanilla, blackcurrant, raspberries,
cassis and tobacco which reveal
a long, chocolaty finish and a good mouth feel.'
Altho' this above-average beverage may in time be fine,
I'm truly convinced no grapes were unduly harmed
in the making of this wine!

There are many things that remind me of you.
Every time the sun sets,
And the sky paints itself in thousands of colors,
I see you.
The songs you once played,
They still linger in my playlist.
They set my mood and carry me back in time,
As if I am living it all over again.
Sometimes, strangers walk by
Wearing your fragrance.
For a moment, I freeze,
Thinking you might be somewhere near.
That café corner,
And the ever-changing taste of its hazelnut frappe,
Every sip reminds me
Of your quirky expressions.
And the streets
Where you used to walk me home,
Still make me feel
That you might return and hold my hand.
These reminders
Gently tell me
I once lived something
That is truly beautiful.

My “honey” with chestnuts will not come for Christmas,
It’s life, you have to enjoy yourself anyway
once a year,
New Year’s menu to enjoy at the time you like,
Foie gras with a glass of Monbazillac,
Snails with butter,
Scallop shell with lemon-white butter
Short break
Quail with hot mango
and hazelnut potatoes,
Maybe cheese with the tour des grands ducs (local wine)
Then the dessert
Traditional bûche de Noël
You are all welcome
No need to be a millionaire even at Christmas

“It isn’t that I like her don’t be ridiculous”
It’s not like her warm hazelnut eyes encapsulates my world
or as if that smooth smile fluters me forgetting all my worries or obligations
Or as the sun strikes her I cannot imagine how ignorant anyone can be to not adore her
“Liking is a stretch it’s just that…”
She seems like a dream, euthoria incarnate everything I have adored and yearned for in life
She is like a ray of light
Or a drop of rain
A necessity for life
A necessity for me
I life without her seems like a dull life, she is the paint that brings life to the artwork
Like the mona lose to divinci
A stary night to Van Gogh
She is my magnum opus, my work of art.
“It isn’t that I like I, I love her.”

She says this vape tastes more like coconuts and chemicals.
I personally found it to taste like fruit from the tropicals.
Now the hazelnut vape stick is part of my personals.

When I caught a glimpse of you,
I envisioned our future together.
Your beauty shined brighter
Than the stair gates to heaven
I get intoxicated when I look
Into your bright and hazelnut eyes.
Your hair glides so effortlessly
Like my pen’s ink on this page
My body is meaningless compared
To the blessings your soul brings.
Just your presence is enough for
God to recognize you as his own
Your lips give me strength to continue on
When I’m down and my core beaten
Your words uplift me from the wreckage
I am unstoppable with you by my side
Throughout Heaven Earth and Hell
Nothing will stop me from living an
Eternity with you and your comparison
I would strike down the Devil for it.
No grand reward can derange me
From finding your love.

Sparrows on the hazelnut trees in bloom
welcome spring. A pleasure to follow
the small brook that weaves through the trees.
A little farther, hidden,
the pale cottage where lives
the witch who transforms
the curious

Lethal kind heart, your fingernails like morganite daggers
sharp enough to stab my heart from the hearth that you warm
As long as you still light it, my breathing bellows will stoke
your flame, which came from a tight lipped smile that
wish me the most beautiful hellos.
Upon the eve of early July, from which the heat of the sun
becomes aggressive, your freckles blossomed into a bouquet,
that shined aside your elegant dress. Darkened in nature,
the color of the void you wore, yet was molded to your whim,
your radiant, resplendent figure.
For the sake of my sanity I will admire as much as my mind will
allow me to comprehend. Hazelnut hair in waves that flowed
down like opulent bordeaux.. Your legs hidden in stockings, they
muted their glow of moonlight and silk. You are a walking wonder,
the embodiment of immaculate gloam.
Dancing outside a mansion, at a celebration of significant love
I felt my very core absorb all the attendants’ admiration,
so I may orchestrate the concentrate of my overflowing dam.
To say what may be simple I may admit, but these words are
pure osmium,
“I want this feeling for forever, if you would let me share it.”

Remember playtime moments shared.
When as two children, nicely paired,
with clinking spoons or tiny cups
pretended coffee like grown-ups.
And, then you said, I am old enough.
I need the caffeine in this stuff.”
Can you recall the virgin sip,
that burned your mouth and seared your lip?
Sip slowly on a tender tongue,
a smoking brew to overcome,
and wake the hungry nighttime eyes,
with beans of hazelnut surprise.
Black stimulant creeps in the soul
warming a belly from the cold,
a rapid morning’s soothing taste
to comfort one in workday haste.
Too hot to gulp or swallow fast.
The gentle quality must last,
allowing caffeine to sustain
a weary over thinking brain.
A remedy through bitter years
war time tonic, Red Cross cheers.
Whose warmth to these said, "be revived."
"You're sipping coffee and still alive."

He viewed the room in the attic with distaste.
It had to serve; he had no money to waste.
Getting a job was difficult to find
At night he went without food, everyone was unkind.
Someone, unbidden, entered the room.
A young girl smiled at him and gone was the gloom.
She gave him a hot piping plate he knew not what,
A mixture of coconut, hazelnut and walnut.
He gulped it all, he was not prim
As she sat closely, too closely next to him.
Soon he was kissing those hot lips,
Even though this was not in his script.
Some days passed and she was always near,
Yet somehow as time went by, he lost all cheer.
Till in the end, he could bear it no more.
She swallowed his soul; death was very sore.
All in the guest house felt he would die unwell
The young girl was never seen but the room smelt of hell.
