Notes About The Poem

DESTINY

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The cracked acorn gleams in Simon’s paws~ not prophecy, just refraction through last week’s stolen garden ornament. He squints at blurry futures: pecan groves drowned in floods, three-legged dogs chasing slower squirrels, a blizzard hidding every buried nut. Disaster! Simon panics, scrambles up bark, forgets the vision, spots a hazelnut. Destiny tastes better salted.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Very good. I even forgive you Simon's appearance... This is that funny. Really made me laugh... Hoping to move on from all rodents in my last curtain call here: Ala Sinatra, gonna have it 'My Way.' Ole Blue-Eyed Exterminator
You've got an imagination that blesses all who read you. My own head is overloaded with fantasy yet still I love reading and absorbing more dreamy words from creative minds. Had a good time here, Sara.
Dear Sara, I loved how your piece balanced humor with a glimpse of fragility, visions of disaster dissolving into something ordinary and almost playful. Sometimes fate is less vision than appetite, revealed in the simplest turn toward survival. Autumn Blessings, Dear Sara, Daniel
