Hard As A Rock Poems | Examples

Premium Member Bountiful Starlight

Bountiful starlight reverbs with echoes
that fade but hold a bit of that drumfire.
Raising that whimsical smile even higher,
electric shadows cast a glow on your toes.

A sound you can’t place in the real world,
music that was bestowed from the Fey.
You wake and long to be whisked away
on a comet’s tail both pearled and curled.

High dollar melody delicately bouncing
like a wrist wrapped in celestial jewelry.
With a gaze at the sky’s rippling gallery,
three coin tossed wishes and counting.

Diamonds are on a roll hard as a rock,
playing your high hopes with sure strokes.
As if you really need any kind of a coax,
forever a girl in love with sidewalk chalk.

Premium Member COCONUT OF THE CARIBBEAN

Fish a floating coconut from edge of the Caribbean Sea
Hux the outermost part with a machete
See its brown hairy shell hard as a rock,
Pierce its eyes, which will rain healing waters.
Cut out the white meat for lunch or dessert!
Create some ornament from its polished shell.

Premium Member Fertilizing My Garden

My cucumber needed hydrocarbon
So, I thought to pee in my garden
Thought my cucumber would grow
But what did I know...
My cucumber began to harden

My tomatoes were as hard as a rock, true
But I noticed they turned a dark blue
When my pee hit their stems
It ruined my gems
Instead of peeing, I should have went poo- eww!

Release Me

Release me
Give me that touch
The one I need so much

Apply a little pressure
But not a lot
And don’t stop

For I am tangled
Strangled right up in a knot
Hard as a rock
Release me from this spiralling, spinning spatial awareness
Of never ending twisted taught ness
And tightness and
Terrible wrongness

Give me that touch
Don't make it too light
alright...

I purged my heart, and there's nothing left
but sin it beats no more it's hard as a rock
Help me from within please, God
Come embrace me touch my pound of flesh
Reshape me and remove the calluses
Take me out of this paralysis
Engulf me with your spirit
Change me back make me a new being

Premium Member A Mighty Man Was I

I was once alive,
Within this plane of existence.
Displaying my mighty fighting skills
Flowing like water, I hit as hard as a rock.
How their radiant eyes gleamed,
Watching me, observing me.
Viewing my furious battles between thee,
I sink low to dodge my opponents.
Buzzing in fighting stance as a bumblebee.
And I bring one down in a death-defying grip,
I aim towards the heart, with a loud warrior scream
“You must be like water,” I tell them.
Adaptable to change was I
Remember the movie Fist of Fury?
Moving with grace I do not leave a trace
Coming from all angles,
Never was I once defeated.
I jump and kick with such magnitude
A look of serenity remains on my face,
I land like a cat, waiting to attack
I sprawl down on the ground and complete two finger pushups
Forcefully yet calmly, showing the world what I can do.
I embrace my strength and you should too.
I stand up against all odds
I live on
Fight your own inner battles
I live on
You use your sharp jabs and spinning kicks
I live on in an unseen world.

Total Disarray

Two all beef patty, special sauce on sesame bun
But, np pickles, no sauce, meat not even done
I know this not Burger King, have it your way
My burger is in a serious "Disarray"

Fries hard as a rock
They are not even hot
Drink is watered down, because it has been sitting for a while
The worker has the nerves to hand me my food with a smile

People behind me is upset for such a long wait
Your service is a big "Disarray"

Soda all on the floor
Food stains on the doors
I say, if you got time to talk and lean
You got time to get the place clean
This place is in "Total Disarray"!!

Premium Member You Know It Is Cold

You know it is cold

You know it is darn cold when the woodstove is going
But the propane furnace just keeps on blowing
When your nostrils freeze outside in the winter air
Ice is curled hanging with snow from the roof everywhere
You know it is cold when smoke bellows from chimneys all around
Everywhere you go there is crunching on the ground!
The dog needs a sweater and winter coat with a hood
Refusing to wear doggie boots, then waits to be carried where she stood
You know it is cold when vehicle struggles to start, taking long to warm up
Then the coffee you hope to have, starts to freeze in the travel cup!
You know it is cold when the driveway is a pond of slippery ice
But, the sand to cover it, freezes as hard as a rock, not nice!
Then you start praying for the temperature to please rise!
And when it reaches above zero you start to celebrate the surprise!
But, this is winter in the Northern New England heights
Just make sure you have warm blankets to get through the nights!

Gone Are Those Days

By Parizo Van Thulare

Hard as a rock of sedimentary
Groundwrecking as a C4 from the millitary

It was head over heels
Sometimes the clouds went nine
Emotions were on the line
The rain was on strike
Nothing was fine

The Forging of feelings
The Wiping of tears
The walk of shame
Pain with no gain
Endless hours of tossing and turning

Gone are those days
When i felt caged in love
Gone are those days
When you gambled with my thoughts

I used to think you are one
I sacrificed so much but i was taken for none
I was wrong ,Love is not a disease
You become vulnerable when you misuse it

Those days are gone dear
You wont see me near

Premium Member Not Yet Mr Robin

Mr. Robin arrived on Spring's early Tide
Of mid-March born to a chill wind born

From his wing dropped a feather
Foretelling milder weather
Yet those slants of ice in the air
  Hunger pangs, mealtime's prayers

'Twere no whistles of mirth
'Twere no worms in the Earth
No gentle rains to nurture the ground to give birth
To shoots of bright blossoms or soft-pedaled roses
  Nor even a hint of green-tinged garden-hoses

All still lay bare, brown, hard as a rock
"The Earth be not ready!"
Quoth her biological clock--

When through the heart of Mr. Robin
Hurtled Winter's last gasp
  A glistening icicle
In the shape of an asp

Premium Member Sports and Art Jock

There once was a college sports jock,
Whose exterior was as hard as a rock.
   But inside beat the heart
Of a connoisseur of fine art,
Whose colors he wore like a peacock.

Premium Member Heart of Stone- Wake Up My Heart

I was used and abused
my heart was trampled on.
So as a defense mechanism,
It became cold as ice,
and hard as a rock.
I didn't allow love to get near it,
that was until you came,
and caught me off guard.
You were relentless in your
pursuit of me, I had no choice,
but to surrender to your love.
You made my icy heart melt,
my heart of stone became flesh.
You know what you did my love?
you WOKE UP MY HEART.

Butt Buyers Beware

People desperate to have huge butts,
see an amateur doctor in her hut,
used concrete mix,
and fix a flat fix,
the docs a quack and customers nuts!

Please be careful next time,
since your huge butt is now a sign,
you must be in shock,
its hard as a rock,
I hope the quack realizes the crime!

If I happen to see you on a plane,
please do not complain,
paying for two seats,
one for each cheek,
your huge butt slowly driving you insane!

The Old Man's Dock

The Old Man’s Dock

The old man’s dock, on a cold Scottish loch,
when the cock crows, he stands in a warm frock,
Taking stock of life’s secrets to unlock.
He stands firm to mock, death’s calling tick tock.
Hard as a rock, he leans against the shock,
as waves of fear knock, upon his old crock.

Little Pests

Tis the season for frightful bugs,
found one in my bed,
even in my rug,
they seem to turn up everywhere,
even in the breath mint in my mouth,
even heard one in the rhythm
of my clock,
the other day went walking
only to discover one in my sock,
then I tried to kill it,
but they're hard as a rock,
one time one was on my plate,
and I almost ate it
thinking it was a grape,
Now listen up,
you little blood sucking pests,
I will hunt you down
till I get no rest!
Its bad enough that its allergy season,
we don't want any of your diseases!
Might use some bloodhounds
to help track them down,
if only we could annihilate them,
all throughout the town,
then they'd finally be extinct,
and people and dogs everywhere
would no longer be forlorn and frown,
but if I need professional help
guess I'll call an exterminator,
and if that doesn't work,
I'll get Arnold the terminator!
