Buxom Barbara burned her bra
never again lift and separate
or cross your heart to contemplate
she likes to feel her bosom counts
when flouncing down the boulevard
Barb now snags more bounce to the ounce
abroad in the world without a single care
it never fazed her one bit nor a whit
when this would jounce most men to stop and stare
as if they'd not seen such before
and she'd trounce 'em should they dare to pounce
a crystal-clear case of less is more

Fall season is a favored time of year
when leaves irradiate their aurum cheer.
Custard colors cloak paths with brilliantine
while misty breezes tease the woods to sheen.
A couturière flouncing haute couture,
adorning the hillside with striped hachure.
Rich gemstones of ornate colors convey
an elegance to Her brilliant bouquet.
Wild winds blow briskly and bracingly strong.
High mountain tops lace in silver sarong.
Her splendent figure, festive femme fatale,
reigns regally pluperfect pastorale.
Her flamboyant panache is très chic.
Au fond, She's decisively magnifique!

“Curly girl: It's more than just hair, it's an attitude.”- Lorraine Massey.
With pretty ringlets in her hair,
a princess she appears to be.
Cute bows she wears give her such flair
with pretty ringlets in her hair.
With cheeks so pink and skin so fair,
this darling child I love to see.
With pretty ringlets in her hair,
a princess she appears to be.
Like Shirley Temple dancing, she
enjoys flouncing her princess curls.
How precious is my girl to me.
Like Shirley Temple dancing, she
performs for us, giggling with glee
How gracefully my daughter twirls!
Like Shirley Temple dancing, she
enjoys flouncing her princess curls.

Babette
Poor Babette is a hot mess...
She's a walking fashion disaster,
Flouncing in her frilly, floral dress.
Poor Babette is a hot mess...
But she's not one to stress.
Strutting like a proud rooster,
Poor Babette is a hot mess...
She's a walking fashion disaster.

Pep-talking walkers were strutting.
Round ladies were jogging,
strollers pushed by
the quick and the plodding.
Teenage girls flouncing.
A ball thrown still bouncing.
Kids were shouting,
shouting.
The pond went round and around,
a circle of sound.
They were texting, yelling, tripping.
Kids skipping, noses dripping,
flip-flops scuffing.
Round and round the people went,
while the sky made a big round-eye,
and I feebly clinging
to its edge.

the deepest part of my heart has a key,
gulping and squeezed, with precious tears,
fears frozen with sweet memories, loving
cup that overflows — a blue-blue fountain
strumming in a garden with singing trees.
§
the secret garden of my mind flowing
in four different directions, partitions of
a red-red beating heart, a steady beat,
massaged, alive by the hand of Christ.
roses and tulips intertwine succinctly.
§
apropos petals propose a seasoned mix,
a stir of scented wind. honeysuckle and
lavender tryst fill my eyes with happiness
but the winds always changing, often brisk
and dating, the calendar flipping, flouncing
§
and the ground shaking beneath my knees
whilst i breathe out loud, sensations of
anxiety, ne’er knowing where life will lead
but faith, ferocious faith and hope, yes-love
must tender me a kiss via my savior.

Maggie and me. Slamming down our
Photographed bug lunch pails
Reactions are fast. OOOH! OOOH!
We smile. Glad to see the other girls' reactions.
Those are boy lunch pails snotty Cathy says
She is prissy; we stick out our tongues.
Grin.
High five each other.
We feel the same about her.
She is to be tormented whenever possible
You are strange, she says, flouncing off.
We laugh. Cannot stop. Keep laughing.
It turns into the dreaded silent laugh
that only we get.
The two kids across the lunch table stare
Neither understanding.
But we do...

The long-legged lass in ruddy tights
struts her stuff like high-heeled stilts.
Each step a flouncing prance,
an elegant dance on heel-up stance,
that flaunts the body to pose, poised.

Pretty little frilly,
Skirt up too high,
Flouncing around,
Reflecting the sky,
Femininely dancing,
Slender and tall
Delightfully pleasing,
Mystifyingly all,
Showing to tease
The wind,
And his breeze,
Displaying she reveals
No shame at all,
Purple little daisy
Fragrances she sends
Signaling her lovers,
Also her friends,
Looking to attract,
Without any tact
Cheerful intentions
Night-time sleeps,
Her dreams welcome.

A spindly girl one far-off year
With both knees scabbed and flouncing skirt,
She kicked the ball and ran to first
And I felt glad to watch her sprint
Or catch her smile, just hear her laugh,
And when she neared, my heart, it raced,
My throat went tight and head grew light,
My first true clue that life’s pursuit
Is winning love and female grace.

Flouncing flamenco style or doubling up for a pass a doublet is neither a right or a wrong in a semi colon in nightgowns. But trespassing on a land? Really? Who said? Hum. Huh. Disgusting. Go irrigate a system. It is irrelevant in an underpass. Really. Are Astronaughts astronomically passing? Or is it the ordered preordained multitasking whisk that whirls around. Speaking in a descant voice is rather a pleasant octave. Ignoring ignorance irrationally is a quotation on a journey. But planting ones feet in a mystical view is an integral part of being a being and being a being is good and who would argue with a ninety thousand year old goldfish. Not wise. Not clever. Compunction compounds. I don't wanna wear clothes says I but I have to. Says who. Snails travel at high speeds un the morning. Hahahahahahahaha now eat. Hahahahaha boom bang. Imminent. Dangerous dogs demonic. No ha ha to that bunch of dying arranged posies. Xxxxx decriminalisation z

Memory of Liberty
Ballroom entanglements of crush induce dancers,
Flouncing hem of skirt of my lady the Royal Queen,
Wavy as ocean, swiveling and sweeping in spiraling
concerto,
The sea of floating headgears bobbing up at the simms,
Footfalls on the parade paved hill tarmac of many
destinies,
Lives held in captivities in the jaws of colonial
metropolitan,
Imploding, searchlight to conquer the fun-fare frontiers,

Who Runs This Home
by Amy Swanson
You stare at me
warm topaz eyes
so serene
mysterious...
warm amber glow
soft ball of fur
you nestle down beside me
content
to be with me
asking only
to be scratched...
and to play with the pen I am using!
Stretching out lazily
and purring softly
you allow me the privilege
of petting soft amber fur
- while reaching yet again for my pen! -
(you don't give up easily!)
And now you've had enough;
hopping up to catch a pesky flea
then a bath
you take such care to groom
your sunshine colored fur
Just as suddenly
you walk away
casting a disdainful glance in my direction
tail fluffed and flouncing
to visit your food dish
We know who runs this home!
*wink*
