Premium MemberTwo Tone

I was young, once, and knew no bounds
and oft went running with the hounds
chasing heirs, blossoms if not there
plucked, without worry or a care.
Met in rhythm of a 2 tone ska
bewitched by sax and bass guitar;
escaping from my ghost town spell
Mantovani could go to hell!
Rocksteady, reggae, punk, new-wave
freedom, freedom, never be a slave!
Checkerboard shirts with Tonic suits
skinny blue jeans and eight-hole boots.
Mom don’t like multicolored mates
so that’s her problem, them’s her hates
Thatcher’s on her wall, she expounds;
so I went running with the hounds.

Female Cogitation

In conversation
the sounds
of her thinking astounds
logic rebounds
argument confounds
rationale knows not bounds
there's no reasoning
with what she expounds
or justification
in that which she propounds
when all facts fail
and reality surrounds
her point of view
tho' it has zero grounds
piled on in mounds
with absurdity she compounds
adding injury to insult
my brain it impounds
traps me wraps me saps my energy
inducing mental lethargy causing total apathy

Butterfly

Flit and dance from flower to flower
Gossamer wings of printed art
Rapturous beauty overpowers
Instilling warmth in my beating heart.
Bold against the drab grey surround
You float unencumbered, light and free
A picture bursting with life expounds
If only you could be with me.
Save me from this boring day
Let me join on you on the wing,
To feel the freedom without dismay
Unshackled and absolved of sin.
Social butterfly, faerie infatuation deep
My heart and soul are yours to keep.

Premium MemberDeadicated To Jesus-

Grateful all the hearts that are not golden
grateful are those parts that are swollen
with tears of abundant Joy crying flowing
down the cheeks overflow grateful or the heart
that expounds and rejects the negatives parts
of man's ill effects grateful are the spoken word
to the one and only true God Evermore
grateful in my mind for he is my God my king
 my darling my everything
and my sore mess He heals and my sorrow
He makes me glad in my pain He soothes
me in my loneliness He accomplished me
I am in love with a man this day
One who holds my hand everything
if I must be concise the man's name is Jesus,
 Jesus Christ
Hallelujah

Premium MemberLove Endearing

Love is an impulse fueled by the heart,
A stimulating prompt eliciting response
Invoking affinity from halo of its soul~
Sense it, feel it, touching depth of core;
Harmonious, melodious, even in prose
Longingly love unfolds albums of yore
Etching memoirs today and tomorrow.

Love is the glimmer on giggles of child
Love is, beak to beak, feeding a newborn,
Love is a deer ambling with her fawn,
A blush of kiss love is on moonlit night,
Listen closely and you’ll hear its sound~
Sound of benevolence love expounds
Giving, receiving, never having to ask.

Love is a ballad in passions of romance
Blossoming reveries in bosoms of dawn,
Love is the chorus of nightingale’s song
Strumming its euphonic tunes of music
Enamored it comes in genuine feelings,
Vibrant and tender as flowers of spring,
Fragile and colorful as autumnal revelry.

Premium MemberThe Silence of the Trumpet

Trumpet call
And all down tools,
People who don't live by the rules,
Listen to these trumpets calls
The caller is a hypnotiser,
A cad and a womaniser,
He is also a billionaire,
Without any savoir faire.
Avarice and powerful too
He tells others what to do
The trumpeter is extremely bad,
Some people think he must be mad,
He keeps going on and on,
Committing crimes that to others are wrong,
Many followers of this man
Always agree with any silly plan,
That this deranged man expounds,
No matter how ridiculous it may sound.
They follow him like a flock of sheep,
His self-centred rallies make the educated weep.
Trumpeter claps himself when he is on the stage,
He dances to music to engage
While pointing to people in the crowd
As his followers cheer and clap out loud
Everything gets to a fever pitch
Like a circus without a hitch.
The trumpeter's power grows and grows,
His audience loves him; the louder he blows,
Then one day at one of these rallies,
A Bugler played the reveille
It was the necessary wake-up call
And the start of the trumpeter's fall.

Premium MemberHound Most Renowned Nursery Rhyme

A man, quite renowned, came into our town;
He tried to expound on matters profound.
He frowned when he found as he tried to expound:
drowned by the sound of a hound in the town.

This was indeed a hound most renowned!
The sound from this hound, when on a rebound,
knocks a man down in a mound on the ground.

He looked all 'round: northbound, southbound, eastbound, westbound.
Nowhere he looked could that loud sound be found:
the fairground, the playground, the foreground, the background.
Finally he found himself down at the pound.

A foxhound, a coonhound, a bloodhound, a greyhound:
all of these hounds could be found at the pound,
but none of the hounds made that kind of sound.

A boy came around and said while he frowned,
his puppy was wound up, would not settle down.

"Your little dog too! Ha, ha," he clowned.
A little chihuahua made all of that sound?
Well, he dropped his jaw when he heard the chihuahua.
Now, he expounds on this hound most renowned.

Oscar

I thank the heavens for this darling boy
who's given my life new purpose, joy.
This little scrap of humanity, who sits
on my knee and expounds my vanity
and completely disarms me with his
'Hello, granddad' and infuriates when
he misbehaves then saves himself with
a smile and a hug and I give a shrug
and beckon him near, this grandson
so dear, who melts my heart and leaves
a gap when we are apart. Who angers
and pleases in equal measure yet gives
my memory so much to treasure. Our
knowing looks, the story books, the
afternoon naps, the selfie snaps.
The rough and tumble when you don't
really want to, but you oblige for the smiles
and the giggles and then you collapse in
a heap of wriggles and try to be straight -
laced whilst he probes your face to see how
your eye works and plays with your lip
then, off he'll skip on some other ploy
and ask you to play with some other toy
or else bombard you with imaginary snowballs,
until, tuckered out, sleep finally calls and he kisses
goodnight and lazily crawls into the land of dreams
and childhood schemes and I'm left, bereft, aching
and sore and anticipating more in the dawns early light.

Premium MemberMonsters of the Sea

A contracted seafarer...concerning no servile rank,
kept e'er involved watch...away from menial daily tasks top deck,
while steadfast wary of...the diligent taskmaster's whip.

A dawn swift gust...brushes the ship from a rocky pillar,
duly rallies from rest...aids calamitous bellows from crow's nest,
witnessed by crew...rose an angel disguised with devil horns.

Seawater laps feverishly...against ship's wooden hull,
as panic over breed minds...once sturdy legs go feebly about,
cascading thoughts grips privately...every man for himself.

Another abrupt action...frees a churning sea expounds,
and an opening hole...devouring anything within its midst,
as desperation consumes...a ship has long met its doom.

A lone selfless soul of limited else...moved past the lost,
and hastily clutched a burdened javelin...and hoist it upwards,
with his petitioned combined strength...released the deadly blow.

Her dying scream...was drowned out by restored happy voices,
and a wealth of well-wishes and praises...honoring accolades,
as lone eyes of a humble sort...gaze a siphoning pass.

Traipsing o'er rare daffodil dawn,
Honeysuckle trails a passage forlorn,
Passionate filters pacified carnation yon,
Shelter rose prickly poised stem-filled thorn.

Blues hover facing angry clouds,
Sunrise sprung anew yellows brighten,
Sunset made reds to blazon shade crowds,
Grey dusk looms whilst a stripped eve heighten.

Clouds brim its sky, made for a naked night,
A veiled moon and outstretched curtains its stars,
A lane of lovers unmoved by heavenly displayed slight,
Tempestuous intensity stifled lips, a slide of hands in cars.

Tinge portrait anew day rises pastel undeniably grants,
Tone sketches advent blending brightness a welcomed orb,
Moods suave expounds harmoniously, proffers vivid a chance,
Splendor in the air unaccountable of yesterdusk, breaths absorb.

Poem of Conflict

Pride in hand I come unto this world
Not knowing what to say, what to do
Overflowing with new found glee
Freedom at what it feels like to be truly me.

Hours pass, incentive grows faint
Longing to requite relief expounds new reality
Memory reminds me, she said, "If you care,"
Forced out onto this ledge alone I took the dare.

One single remembrance, faded now
Bursts clear to frontal lobe, in sadness unfair
"I've sacrificed everything for your love to forsake me!"
I guess what goes around comes around my love. Please forgive.

In defiant hesitation I repent of all repentances
Take it all back to confront it forever anew
Remember everything to a season, everything has its purpose
And on this seasoned road I can only begin this process of forgetting you.
