On a winding path of friendly kegs,
I consumed warm beer and picnic dregs.
Next to me, a little buzzer flied.
I asked, would he help me decide -
potato salad or deviled eggs?

Imagine...
A symphony orchestra,
all the greats,
the legends,
the masters of the universe,
playing...
...a perfect piece.
BORING!
Perfectly executed,
flawless, pristine...
but dead.
Empty.
A sterile echo,
a ghost of a melody.
Now imagine...
A kid,
scruffy,
misfit,
with a guitar older than time,
a cracked voice,
fingers fumbling on the strings...
...but playing from the heart.
Every note,
a stumble,
every chord,
a struggle,
but the music...
The music is alive!
It's raw,
it's honest,
it's real!
Perfect form,
a sculpted stone,
frozen beauty,
but lifeless.
Flawed creation,
rough edges,
unpolished,
but burning with passion,
breathing with life.
Don't let the perfect fool you.
Don't mistake precision for truth.
Don't let the polished mask hide the beating heart.
The flaws are the beauty!
The stumbles are the steps!
The imperfections are the soul!
Let the music live!

Why does English have so many words
that have two or more meanings attached
There's many unused letter combos
(which my "invalid" Scrabble words hatched!)

my husband asked if I was going on a date
Because I am not wearing a nightie or pajamas
I am going to Urgent Care, remember? I say in a snotty voice.
His brilliant idea of asking a pharmacist to prescribe something
did not work for me.
I have already gone the route of inefficiency for three days.
Time to see an expert
Even if it means wearing clothes.

Chesterfield explains everything with a hiss.
You will not have time to ask him something,
Before he tells you this
He is an expert on bees, trees, houses,
Mouses, dogs,
And of course, Iowa farm hogs.
Chesterfield prances around in his red jammies
Throwing out facts – many, not a few.
None of the others call him on his fibs.
For they have dementia too.

The Father is an expert hunter.
He has 3 sons.
He is about to die.
He wants to turnover his expertise to his sons.
One day, he invites his 3 sons to the field.
He told to his First Son to see a tree.
He said, "Son, what do you see in a tree?"
The First Son said, "Father, I see the fruits that are ripen."
The Father said in his mind, "You fail".
The Second Son was introduce.
The Father said, "Son, what do you see in a tree?"
The Second Son said, "Father, I see thick leaves and branches in it".
The Father in his mind, "You fail".
Then, the last son which is the youngest.
The Father said to his Third Son,
"Son, what do you see in a tree?"
The Third Son said, "Father, I see birds in twigs.
Some birds are eating the fruits".
"Son, get your bow and arrow.
Shoot those birds", the Father said.
The Father smile. In his mind he is happy and proud.
He is happy to die in his estate.

No matter what you’re trying to say,
be it in your poetry or song.
There’s still going to be an expert,
who’ll tell you that you’re doing it wrong.
I think maybe there is something skewed,
going on in their philosophy.
I wonder what makes them the expert,
on what my poetry means to me.

I am not technically challenged
I am merely being tested
Well, that’s my story anyway
There are those who would beg to differ
So let them
Who cares?
I may not know all there is to know
About computers
About streaming
About smart phones
Who says they’re so smart?
They don’t impress me much
I once threatened
To throw mine in the river
For being so stupid
Damn Android
More like hemorrhoid
If you ask me
Meaning pain in the you know what
Give me back my Princess model
Preferably in pink or turquoise
And with a rotary dial
I bet I can get one on Amazon

The expert hunter doesn't cling.
Not having a dog, he hunts with
his cat... not having a cat,
he hunts with his duck, without
duck hunting with mouse...
- mouse...?
- Yeah... there are hunting rats
you knew...?
- And when there is no mouse?
In the "revolution" they hunted with ACTS...
If all fails then...
- Well, he takes the shotgun...!

Lucky I to have fate so sublime
And luckier yet to tribute this rhyme
To my astute, bright, superb team slime.
Foremost is Janki - a pure-heart dime;
With wise saws, quick wits, lively and prime;
Trustworthy, motherly, wonderful all time.
Next is Gautam - clear, clean and pal prime;
Helpful, reasonable, sharp yet simple chime.
Tejas - a perfect, punctual, sweet lime,
Ready with answers, active, apt thyme.
Kiran - conducive, kind, Hindi rhyme;
Talkative, approachable, yet sublime.
Vidhi - a guide, mentor and convoy mine;
Constructive, just, cool, without any crime.
Jinal - young, dashing, sweeter, fresh thyme
Gained goal: teaching those who taught – no crime.
Local language is taught by the chime
Named beauty Hetal - neat, nice, bright stime.
Ashaka, a helping hand, is fun-time.
Paridhi, another aid is beauty’s shrine;
Sensitive, stress buster, acts peacetime;
Understanding, lovely, soft at break time.
Last but not least is Shivram meantime
Shayri, history, Geo; lazy no crime.
All gems bright true and precious sublime,
Bestowed by the almighty in time
For my assistance in this school prime.
Here my mono rhyme thanking all the slime.

This child is out of control, incorrigible, acting out, showing out.
We are tearing our hair, because we are teachers, we want to shout.
There is a trauma sensitive person assigned to help us out.
She hardly ever appears at our school; I want to shout.
Today she appeared, so I rapidly contacted the teacher with the news.
The out-of-control child is not here. Why he is absent? No clues.
So sad that they cannot be here at the same time, isn’t it?
I am sure he is at home throwing one huge giant fit.

Tom’s View

While I'm sitting here this morning airing my gripes,
the Media shows support for most Hollywood types.
Reporting in a manner heretofore unforeseen,
the liberal press is a propaganda machine.
Spinning most all stories to fit the left narrative,
a liberal slant seems to be, most imperative.
Unbiased journalist they're not, but they are two faced,
who lets not a political crisis, ever waste.
