Best Expert Poems
I'm not an expert at anything, but an optimist at many.
A carpenter I am not, but I can still bang a nail.
My artist's hands are not skilled
but my paint still flows to the palette and my brush still strokes a canvas.
Parenthood will forever confuse and astound me,
but I never give up and never give in.
My typing skills are lacking but I continue to write,
a pencil and paper will do me just fine.
I may not be famous or gorgeous or genius
but I have my wits and they’ll do me just fine.
They are all experts.
With lots of advice.
I am doing things right
Except
I have done something okay,
But
I have not had as much experience, so it is their duty.
Ha!
I listen and I learn and I laugh.
I know when to stay, and when to rapidly leave,
pretending I have important things to do.
My best advice comes from within,
From my soul, who knows my past,
my present, and maybe my future.
All of us are experts.
We all know what to do.
Because we all have souls.
All we have to do is listen to our hearts.
But to advise another
On what is best for them to do.
That is the kind of arrogance I have
Run from as fast as I could all of my life.
Even my parents did not have these answers.
If there is one thing meditation and prayer have
taught me it is that I am the expert of me.

Should I trust him, a friend of Donald Trump
I called the Supreme Court judge in the US, Brett Kavanaugh
(I read my poem to him)
"Now, what do you think ... is this a winning poem" ? ... I asked
Brett Kavanaugh replied,"I drank some beer last night and got black out
... harassment, this poem is just crap ... you will get an N / A "

The Soil Expert
Frank Halliwell
She strides across the paddock,
steely purpose in her eyes,
Surveying likely spots
with the detachment of the wise.
The coming decision will surely be
the most vital of the day,
No mundane things will be allowed
to stand in nature's way.
She approaches her task as one possessed
Of total dedication,
Aware of responsibility
for the future of the nation.
There can be nothing casual
In this meticulous inspection,
To gather relevant data
for the soil content correction.
'This seems the correct size and shape,
and texture, scent and feel.
I'll give this bit a little nudge,
to make sure that it's real.
I'd say it needs a trifle more,
just up there to the right,
And maybe to the east a bit,
but I'll do that to-night'.
The barren soil awaits renewal,
quiet, unafraid.
At last, she takes three steps ahead
with the decision made,
And with her tail held high and straight,
in somber salutation,
she makes todays deposit
to the rebirth of the nation.
And then, and only then,
her patriotic duty done.
She returns to join the other donkeys,
grazing in the sun.

I am merely being tested
Well, that’s my story anyway

About computers
About streaming
About smart phones
Who says they’re so smart?
They don’t impress me much
I once threatened
To throw mine in the river
For being so stupid

Asked the Lord for a sign and received an exquisite design
A woman so divine her imprint burned within my mind
Searched for her for so long envisioned her in love songs
Left her aura on me so strong I knew this was where I belonged
Now I wanna be the shoulders she can rest her burdens upon
Even if the size of boulders I still want to be the one
She saw behind my encasing and began the inner man embracing
He was patiently waiting for this woman to calm his mental raging
If she accepts he will give her all of him unequivocally
He has had visions of her throughout his life subconsciously
He has lovingly looked deep into her eyes In many a dream
She has unknowingly touched his heart and now for her it screams
He has crowned her his queen she now spoon feeds his soul
Their made for each other strive for the same goals
I'll never betray her I see in her comfort
Put this love in Gods hands he's the only expert
The expert hunter doesn't cling.
Not having a dog, he hunts with

he hunts with his duck, without
duck hunting with mouse...

He is a schizophrenic.
And of course, which expert is saying this to me?
A person who has never met a schizophrenic, of course,
She might not even know a schizophrenic if we made them
Wear donkey tails, and let them bite dramatic people.
The same drama queen runs into my office
Two hours later. “She is emotionally disturbed.”
Same expert, naturally.
I try not to laugh, keeping my mouth straight. “The five-year-old?”
Head nod.
What did she do?
She put red lipstick all over her mouth like a clown.
