I watch the world
Changing every day
The sun comes up
But never in the same way.
Freedom calls me
To soar thru the sky
To reach for my dreams
And learn how to fly.
I want to see things
The legends foretold
The treasures of the world
More valuable than gold.
I want to run swiftly
Among the flowers and trees
Exploring the unknown
Carefree like the bees.
Through the dense forest
Above the tall trees
Deep in the waters
My spirit flees.
The wind in my hair
The clouds passing by
Free as a bird
In the vast blue sky.
They say I'm young
Not responsible enough
But I will show them
I've grown tough.
I’m gonna make my mark
And show them all
I will become the legend
They tremble to call.
My courage will be known
For miles around
And my strength, though silent
Will stand its ground.
let the poem whisper
give dreams voice
bring forth words in your head
let them dance
on page
give dreams voice
lingering in your heart
let them dance
as you awaken
in morning light
lingering in your heart
whispers of love
as you awaken
let them sing and shout
behold your creation

I am a caterpillar with butterfly dreams
Aspiring to become beautiful with wings
Never was the tallest rose in the flower bed
And when asked to pose face turns ruby red
Wasn’t a cheerleader nor voted prom queen
Was in the church choir not the worst to sing
But there was one gift that set me apart
I used words to lift and inspire heart spark
I’m like a book worm a caterpillar that dreams
As long as I keep my stride I can fly I esteem
Mirror, mirror on the wall,
I stare at a reflection that once held the pain of a broken spirit.
Collapsed inside themselves, where light had ceased to exist,
where regrets once held a smile captive, and the thought of truly loving who they are seemed like the hardest thing to do.
I could recall how they accepted the agony of defeat—submitting to the harsh realities of life and never seeing their story ending with a
“Happily Ever After.”
I could remember their insecurities, low self-esteem, and discarded dreams, as if to tell themselves they were meant to be nothing more than what they are.
How their permanent scars have now been left as a reminder that they have made too many mistakes to ever bounce back from a world that's not made of rubber.
However, here they stand, bold and undefeated,
confident despite being mistreated,
no longer looking at life as if a smile could never be recycled, joy could never be regained, and scars viewed as survival stories waiting to be told.
A child's self worth, painted with words:
“You ain’t worth a pinch of bumble bee...”
Well, I think you know the rest
No, mom wasn’t the best
And she let me know-
She regretted having me
In later years, I felt the gravity.
Power words divide you as you grow
The two people to wield such power,
Father and mother,
Shaping you by the hour
Creating the world you know
And making sure the pain
In letting go
Was equal the time wasted
On a candle that wouldn't glow
Or outshine the dreams left behind
An accident for which I’m to blame
An accident bearing a name
Not worth a pinch of...
Excuse me for letting it-
Get the better of me
It’s still a loud memory,
But they’re gone now
And the future’s bright to see
Not because of them,
But because of me
I would actually say,
‘In spite’,
And I’d be perfectly right
Tomorrow and I, are a new day
And they, a cold and very distant night.
My words are my weakness,
They shout unfiltered,
Taste bitter,
cold like winter.
My words are my strength,
They whisper courage,
To encourage,
And fight discourage.
My words are my legend,
By time goldened,
Honed, silkened,
To my distinction.
The science for true kindness is quite clear,
An act of kindness is more than just dear,
Good medicine for all, both far and near.
Smile at a stranger and say something kind;
It’s more than just changing a heart and mind,
You too will feel better, this you will find.
It lowers cortisol and blood pressure too;
Kindness does great things for me and you,
Increase your own mental health, it is true.
We can reduce stress and build self-esteem,
Giver and receiver living the dream,
Step right up and join the kindness team.
My Favorite Color is Red
Red is passion. Fire.
Strife. It beats and bleeds,
seethes and breathes.
Red is rage. Sexual – carnal –
unlike pink (soft and delicate, gentle and sweet).
Red are roses, sultry and rich. Red lips pout.
“Come, take me.”
Red is
Love, lust/
Fury/disgust-
Red is
your resentment that could no longer be contained.
Red are the
arteries ferociously pumping molten lava
Away from my devastated heart.
Red is
Provocative/Animalistic.
It is vengeance. Red clamors.
Welcome!
It is the silken banner of my homecoming
I AM BACK.
Red are the bricks of the road that walk me further away from you
-My favorite color is red.
Can I borrow happiness?
To help me heal my heart?
I used to have my own
Until my world completely fell apart
I promise I won’t taint it
Or send it back in bits
I promise I will treasure it
- I need it more than I care to admit
When sadness fills your world
Successfully kicking happiness out
You learn to fake a smile and joy
Whilst your head is filled with doubt
The mirror becomes your enemy
Your mind plays tricks on you
Your heart becomes a shell
No longer knowing what it should do
Can I borrow happiness ?
I think I need it for a while
Even though time with it is borrowed
I just want to feel a real smile
When you believe in yourself you can't lose
No approval needed to do as you choose
If they don't like it thats fine because you do
Whatever you do is not necessarily for their view
You don't perform actions to get their attention
Be your own fan with no need to be mentioned
The highest rank ever reached is the one you set
Making your own standards as high as it can get
Try doing things that makes a deep impression
Impressions on yourself from your own expressions
Comparing yourself to others is one way to fail
Do all things in such a way that no one can tell
Opinions can be cherished but not what you need
Belief in yourself is the reason you succeed.
Faintly the church bell tolls
On the hour, faintly she sighs
She cries out to the Lord
About the how's and whys
She's a women
(Some say she is scorned)
Most don't see the women I see
A lover with love she's adorned
She can smile in the sun
And hide in the moon
But when she has a sad
I feel our hearts rhythm in tune
She's not a ragdoll
Even if it is for a laugh
I know b'cuz of two hearts twain
She is one half
I look at her and think, you
Can take the old and mend'em new
A second hand heart makes do
(With all she's been through)
Expectations brings
about self deprecations,
sometimes I wonder if
the thoughts running
through my head are
my own or somebody
else’s?
The world lives
in constant turmoil,
waves crashing,
tides swerving in
and out from open-
ended beaches,
abysmal delays of
the lighthouse directory,
guided by supplemental
shocks of lightening
rays trajectory.
I stand firmly in front
of the baseless sandcastle,
a fragile foundation of
past voices from lurking
shadows who slowly
poisoned its interior,
lack of motivation,
wandering in between
spaces incoherently,
my mind in anxiety help-
lessly what I could
not understand,
the words stare back
at me in silence gradually
suppressing the last
bit of life found closing
in underneath,
time holds on as
it falls into deep
sleep.
We both jumped off a cliff,
I fell
You flew
We both went for a dip,
You swam
I sank to darker hues
Each night my dreams play
On replay
These similar troublesome tales
Yet the day brings the light
Which reflects the words I only dare believe
From your eyes
And the rhythm of your heart
Beats several strides slower
Just so mine can catch up,
Even though you've always been faster than me
What I mean is,
I'm the kind of gal whose EQ
Can't tell the difference between
"I appreciate you" and "you're a loser"
And my whole being can't understand why you never
Give up
On me
And after all I've been through
I'm also that one who's too afraid to
Pray for a miracle
Even though
God gave me you
I might be working the
Rest of my life
To see what's right in front of me
But even I'm not dumb enough to know it's worth it
"If you put a really small value upon yourself, rest assured that the world will not raise your price." --Anonymous
Hard to be a humble soul
In a world of silver and gold
Some rather tweet than to speak
Others prefer cookie cutters than unique
Self esteem is like a boat's sail
Without it more likely to fail
It’s ok to ride tides pride
Yet still stay humble on inside
From the words of my beloved partner---He spoke I inked
She’s a clutch player who excels under pressure
She’s Johnny on the spot with tenacious resolve,
one who is extremely creative
An innovative marvel
For example...
Surprisingly adept to any endeavors
in which she partakes and is quite vivacious,
A zany sense of humor...
with a touch of sassy and with a tangy edge
She’s a multifaceted dynamo...
with an energetic verve, tenacious
and at times pugnacious
She can be a little too verbose
At times the hostess with the mostes
