Premium MemberEasier Vowed Than Done

     Like melted snow in summer’s vase
        she vanished without a single trace

     Turned his whole life inside-out
        that inconstant gadabout

     Surely, he’d learned his lesson, our erstwhile Don Juan
        vowed never again to fall for such a con…

     Yet, when next he saw her
         a handsome beaux on her arm

     He discovered the lesson he’d learned was
         ~ he just couldn’t move on

They Said it Would be Easier

I’ve been working hard
out there in the yard
at least from eleven until two

With a two hour brunch
then coffee, then lunch
and maybe a short nap too

But only on days
when the sun’s golden rays
aren’t too hot or too cold

to live life this way
working so hard all day
man, it sure sucks to get old.

todays easier

It gets better
Taking things day by day
Its a little easier to get up in the morning
To smile and make breakfast and wash your face
To do a quick yoga session and laugh with your mum over morning coffee
The weight on your shoulders never really gets lifted
The bags under your eyes never really goes away
The scars on your forearms never quite heal
A silver streak to remind you
But it doesn’t matter because today you woke up and smiled and made breakfast and chatted with mum over coffee and did some yoga and laughed a little
So its ok that its not quite easy,
It never really will be,
But today you woke up and tomorrow you’ll wake up and the next day you’ll wake up

Who knows, maybe you’ll end up cleaning your room and buying fresh oranges at the market and laugh a little louder with your mum

It's Easier To Say It By Mouth

It's easier to say it by mouth than doing it
and whenever I bump into you,
I get a strong feeling to hold you;
oh, if that ever happens: I'll be smiling a lot!

I don't quite understand what's bothers me,
I'm missing the strength more than courage;
what makes me happy is having you close to me!
grant you all desires and worship your sweet image!

We don't insist on what can't work out,
it's easier to say it by mouth than doing it;
does it sound simple to some, but not to us?
we need to be wise and not expect surprises!

Laugh with me, dream with me until fate
is kind enough to make us smile and breathe,
to cherish life or lay down a round wreathe;
what is hard to accept always comes late!

If we are too choosy, we may lose love and all,
living in the moment is a blow to dreams;
nobody seeks a dim light unless it gleams:
stand by me, believe in me and you won't fall!

Premium MemberEasier To Pretend

People hide their feelings behind a smile;
hesitant to reveal how they're feeling.
Many are scared and have been for a while;
global warming has left their heads reeling.

Calling climate change a hoax won't stop it;
glaciers will melt, and the oceans will rise.
We're more frightened than we care to admit,
but today's askew world believes in lies.

No one wants to hear what they know is true;
it's easier to pretend Nature's great.
But Nature doesn't care what you say or do,
and like it or not, She'll decide your fate.

Leave your mask in the land of let's pretend
and face reality; these lies must end.

English Should Be Easier

A semi-colon connects two thoughts together
An exclamation mark screams out its cause
You don’t have to wait until the end to breathe
a comma can give you a pause

A question mark begs for an answer
Quotations usually mean this is not mine
A colon tells me there is a list
or the second and first parts are combined

Then there is the hyphen, En dash, and Em dash
It’s really hard to tell them apart
The hyphen is the shortest and Em is longer
to explain them I would not know where to start

Don’t forget about parentheses and apostrophes
Slashes, brackets, ellipses, and…other stuff
But my favorite punctuation is the period
it tells me when enough is enough.

Premium MemberFreezing To Death Might Be Easier

Patrasche loved being a rescue dog in his youth
husky with one blue eye, one brown eye and a curled tail
his reputation was solid; he could track an owl’s beak
older now, he felt the frost and ice in his bones tonight

His master had asked him to track Nello, a young boy
It would have been truly easy most nights, but this was not most nights
Antwerp was covered with frost and ice
Patrasche’s paws kept flailing out, he was skating on this stuff

It was past midnight now. The town was dark, even with the snow
Tavern signs were creaking with age, Patrasche could relate
Come on, boy, I know we are close. This was Paul, his owner.
Patrasche’s knees were arthritic, he was older and tired.

He thought this might be his last rescue.
If we find Nello, all will be well, he told himself.
His knees did not believe him.
Freezing to death might be easier tonight.
Patrasche had heard that freezing was a sweet death.

Premium MemberEasier Said Than Done

Only yesterday today was in tomorrow -
Shall I bend backwards quick enough to seize the day!?
And then start contemplating, how -
I’d snatch the brief power of now?!

Premium MemberEasier Way

'Tis easier to cross the bridge
     than to swim across the river,
There is always an easier way
     to accomplish any difficult task
And nothing is impossible, when
     one is not too stubborn to ask!

All of a Sudden Everything Is Much Easier

it's as light as snow, the steep hill
when the sun rises must not move a finger,
obedient child, the earth wears its white feathery garment,
putrefied by the wet tears, no need to raise up my eyelids,
speak, or be silent, when i listen
like a newborn wrapped in diapers
i let the snow cover my green eyes,
when you say: not today. not tomorrow.
i don't  need to cry,
i look at the world smiling and say to myself: what a miracle, what a blessing,
i don't have to do anything of those things,
i don't even have to expect a breeze, the touch of a ladybug on my hand,
and ”never ”, and ”nothing” becomes so much, so much
so much lighter than a stone arrow,
except,
we still see ourselves in the eyes of forgotten children
among the flowers
even so, everything is much easier, all of a sudden
it gets easier, and easier, now,
when we are about to get older
wise.

Premium MemberIs It Easier

Is it easier in life, for those who cannot consciously close their hearts, to hurts small and large, even after seemingly been run over by a barge. The flipside of this coin, is they can forgive automatically, because their hearts didn’t close all the way, never allowing them to make or want , The wrongful party to actually pay. Anger yes, a flash of sweet revenge, but it all dissipates in their end.Slates clean, peace of mind, able to once again be who they really are, gentle and kind.

Easier for one would be, happiness to attain

by

reducing his desires than more wealth to gain!

Premium MemberLife Feels Easier

It feels easier.
That's why,
or so she believes.

Why she associates death
and climate pathology
with fear of her ego's mortality
and vaguely remembered anxieties about enslavement;
living death to human identity,
if not all commodified Natures.

Yet, it feels harder
to associate death
with indentured spiritual servitude,
often confused with fundamentalist dogma,
evangelical demagoguery,
politically disempowering religiosity,

Assiduously associated with patriarchal colonization
and straight western white male privilege,
and left brain violently indenturing commodification,
renting human Ego minds
with individualized bodies,
uniquely felt spirits
with thoughtful,
living mortal natures

Associating freedom
with human potential
and at least divine acquiescence,
if not gratitude.

Premium MemberEasier Without Passion

~~~~~
it’s easier without passion
though the frost is hard to take
it’s so much easier to be numb
and make so few mistakes
it’s easier without passion
just after the heartache
much easier without passion
a heart of stone can’t break
~~~~~

Premium MemberMuch Easier

Much easier it is for our prayers to be answered

If

They are accompanied by our appropriate actions!
