They Said it Would be Easier

I’ve been working hard out there in the yard at least from eleven until two With a two hour brunch then coffee, then lunch and maybe a short nap too But only on days when the sun’s golden rays aren’t too hot or too cold to live life this way working so hard all day man, it sure sucks to get old.

Dear Jerry, hilarious! I love how you've captured the "struggles" of retirement with such wit. The contrast between the perceived hard work and the leisurely reality is brilliantly done. I also loved your clever rhymes and playful tone perfectly convey the irony of complaining about such a cushy schedule. What a delightful take on retirement life! I retire in May of this year! Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

It certainly doesnJerry, remember when I first retired I was working late afternoon and my retired neighbour said, what are you doing, you're retired now, you've got tommorow and the day after etc, so now come 2 o'clock, it's tools down, shower and feet up. Tom
