Easier Vowed Than Done

Like melted snow in summer’s vase
she vanished without a single trace

     Turned his whole life inside-out
        that inconstant gadabout

Surely, he’d learned his lesson, our erstwhile Don Juan
vowed never again to fall for such a con…

Yet, when next he saw her
a handsome beaux on her arm

He discovered the lesson he’d learned was
~ he just couldn’t move on

oh wow, a tough lesson for Don Juan. I agree with Rowena...your poem has a bittersweet tone to it.

Loved the bittersweet tone here — the kind of lesson we all seem to keep learning the hard way! Nicely done.

I adore this. If his name is Don Juan than the world got its vengeance on! Poetry hugs ... CayCay
