Agree To Disagree

I’ve been known to rebel
when losing freedom of choice.
When my opinion is silenced
you’ve stolen my voice.
I find disfavor in obeying
another person’s commands.
A conversation is much better
when not laced with demands.
It isn’t always what you say,
that winds my clock, but how you say it.
Tom
A dozen or so things I'd teach my guys,
school children and grandchildren likewise.
When they are young kids, I would make it plain
they’re not to be blamed for a neighbor’s pain.
Simple: no biting, no pulling hair, no hitting,
no screaming, no pinching and no spitting.
Keep your hands to yourself, unless asked,
personal space should not be trespassed.
Kind words offered in peaceful voices,
sharing delight when someone rejoices.
Go out of your way to help those in need;
return disfavor with a friendly deed.
Avoid nosing in another’s business;
when you have done wrong, you promptly confess.
The Golden Rule I would teach inch by inch
over and over, their mischief to quench.

Do stand against them with all might. Their favor or disfavor
Is not what you have ever sought. Those who hanged their own saver,
The Judases whose shame resides for ever on their foul brows,
Are born of lies in lands of lies and false are their filthy vows.
They have once nailed their Messiah with two thieves of their own kind
To fool their dull-minded people who were then, as they're now, blind.*
Who on earth heeds dogs! Let them howl at your shining moon. Don't care.
They're such beasts, rotten to the core, not changing, beyond repair.

* The allusion here is to the Bible. In the Koran and the Islmic faith, Jesus Christ (Peace Be upon Him) rose to Heaven before the Crucifixion; He is still living; and He will reappear to all at the end of the world.
No comments, please!
A face with the bitterest frown,
For long years expecting a crown;
Now in prickly sweat bathed
And A Tongue is scathed …
It’s really an awful spectacle,
Facing no challenge, no obstacle,
As reported by his mirror
Doing so without error;
Ability he’s got and Agility
And all his life no infirmity.
So, why is he, Chief Favor
Facing Monarchical Disfavor;
For long years living for a crown
And it’s public knowledge in a far-off town?
Why does your religion
have to disfavor mine
To speak to its converts
and prattle Divine
Foundations this slanted
are poised for a fall
Appeasing their zealots
who follow and maul
More killed by religion
in His holy name
Than famine and pestilence
ever can claim
The tenets left foreign
to God’s true intent
Epiphanies barren
—all grace to relent

S-how respect at every turn,
H-owever distinct or similar;
A-ll men are entitled to his opinion,
I-nflict not wound and scar.
R-espect others at every turn,
E-leventh of May Thursday;
N-ever dislike or down them, neither disfavor nor dismay.
A-llow your words to bring
R-apture, not pain or burn;
C-orrect errors in a kind manner,
A-s you show respect at every turn.

I often feel the shadow of guilt.
It visits most when walking close.
My aura is my gauge.
Its custom flavors my mood.
My swimming, my drowning, my
Thrashing disbelief.
No hint of disfavor, no eye adrift.
Their obedience reflects the Acceptance of things unearned.
And she said, "It's good to be King."
Listen to Self
Listen to inner self
right here
Believe me you will
never fear
Hasten your activity
with fervor
Relieve you really
from disfavor
Fasten your practice
with livelier
Lively life becomes
more lovelier
Damned death, does it dilly-dally,
darkening doors then squirm pass by.
Disfavor of blood dark alley,
doors impassable; man, to die.
Dressed in a shroud, clutching a scythe,
dimmed soul as it began to writhe.
Dread fills the desolate valley.

L-et the request be granted,
E-ntitled to get the answer;
A-llow it to be heard, for your mind to remember.
R-equest shall be approved
E-very twenty-third September;
Q-ueering the plans of disfavor,
U-sing the power of prayer.
E-arnestly learn to wait,
R-emaining calm to be settled;
Q-uit not in asking the Lord,
U-ntil the request is
E-ntitled.
A day that segues into smooth
From bumpy at its start
Is like a prize awarded
For not crumbling apart.
The smiles are that much sweeter;
The vibes all silk and satin.
The energy as upbeat
As the best parts of Manhattan.
Without a little snag or two
To bring about disfavor,
The smoothness wouldn’t be the same
We’d write about or savor.
I hear someone a-knockin’ at my door,
It’s you again, have we not had enough?
The problem is a complete lack of respect,
Well, your disfavor is shared no need to bluff.
I am much smarter aware of the tricks,
It’s you again, these guiles made me tough,
The problem is your way or just hit the road,
Well, your roadway is rigid spited with rough.
I grew my growth away from your tree,
It’s you again, rage hidden by fluff,
The problem is kindred but with spirit lost,
Well, your heart lacks craze among lovin’ stuff.
I insist you go with that same ol’ leave,
It’s you again, blazing amidst all the slough,
The problem is clear with no extra toll,
Well, your smoke is long gone merely a puff.

Black clouds grow ominously in the distance
The sun dances on the happy blue sky with smiles
Rain drowns plants that have fallen in disfavor
Colors of flowers are kissed by angels on the wing
Monsters devour them in evening with black teeth
Children sing. Farmers plant vegetation, are at one with nature
Clouds still gather at the fringes sinister and mean
Friendly birds build spring like nests to comfort eggs
Old age is no place to be when cold sets in to blind
The sun can only burn so much so brightly
Enough though to see that bread still needs buttering
