traffic is traveling in all directions
I do not miss the frantic feel of driving
the stress of wondering
when they are going to kill me
every car a potential bullet
large and mean
discourteous and rude
choosing to stay home is an easy choice

I am not a preacher!
I am not a preacher
Who preaches love and kindness
But when my pen and paper collide
They leave no stone unturned
And no life unchanged.
I am not a doctor
With a stethoscope dangling in the neck
But when words runs through my fingertips
They mend broken hearts
And heal wounded souls.
I am not a sergeant
With a badge of dazzling stars
I am not a soldier
With a precarious weapon on the shoulder
But a pen that scribes in bold
Let there be peace
I am not a pilot
But let the young men and women
Be inspired to fly high
For the only limit is the sky
I am not a preacher,
I say l am not a preacher
But l shall speak to the discourteous world
The ethos of life.

She’s like a monkey in the morning,
searching through her fleas.
She’s got molding mashed potatoes
where others keep their keys.
Her cloths are an invitation to
voice a mother’s sense of dread
“That’s what you’re gonna look like son
if you wear your cloths to bed.”
Her shopping cart is over flowing
from items she hasn’t bought
as she whines her way
past other slaves
of the City of New York.
She's lost her taste for liquor,
forgotten loving sex,
eats at the rescue mission and sings
in that choir when she gets picked.
Her face is a chubby cluster
of blackened cherry cobbler cheeks.
bruised by sun and wind and
horny, discourteous souls
who have taken what she could keep.
Then she takes a nap, takes a crap
on the City of New York.

God shifts his weight and half an oak remains.
One soul must die; another life retains.
I stand a little shaky now.
raise my hand, put drops in my eye,
A sort of palsy visits me
I let the blood sport play, yet wonder why
pause until I am no longer faint.
At times my body fools me, like wet paint.
I accept it as a debt I must repay,
for all the times I treated it that way.
cruel in action, abusive with indulgence,
careless or discourteous, ignoring common sense.
nonchalant, often asleep behind the wheel
Now time for me to touch my age with far less zeal.

Is it possible to die of a broken heart
While you stand right in front of me
My fever rises
You disappear
My world torn apart in less than a week
No one cares that I have fallen
Should I even try to pick myself up
Maybe
Just to spite you
And kick you in the balls with my recovery
For now though I think I'll just lie here
Exhaustion to well known a companion of late
See the people pass me one by one
Not being rude or discourteous
They have no idea I am here
Blindness is fashionable these days
Though I know I am invisible
It hurts to be ignored
Which makes no sense really
But then nothing does
In this rabbit hole I have found myself in
As it is want to happen my mind begins to wander
Has everyone fallen down the same rabbit hole?
Are there multiple holes?
Personal holes?
My arms straining shaking under my own weight
One last thought slips through
Will humanity ever find it's way back to being
Human?

I cope with commercials
that sit on my head,
that wallop my westerns,
and leave them for dead.
They shoot me and loot me
till I go to bed.
I scream at a stop light
that steps on my brake,
that raises my hackles
till knucklebones ache.
They turneth me into
a coiled rattlesnake.
I hate when my hamburg
is freckled with fat.
What does "extra lean" mean?
Is it idle chitchat?
I'll be giving the grocer
a crisp caveat.
I abhor dirty dishes
piled high in the sink,
or when morning coffee
is too cold to drink,
or when my dear children
push me to the brink!
I detest barking dogs
when I'm trying to snooze.
Discourteous crows
also fail to amuse.
Perhaps I'll reserve a
Caribbean cruise!

RIGHTEOUSNESS
Sun shines bright on the righteous.
Not coward, be courageous.
Affirmative and be upright.
On the righteous Sun shines bright
Be rational in every step
Obstacles never to escape.
Victory sure to run parallel
In every step be rational.
Envious enemy enters
Be spirited on encounters.
Though days dawning discourteous
Enters enemy envious.
Grow great, go ahead in glory
Truth should glow in bio-story.
Righteousness to accept.
In glory go ahead, grow great.

I was reaching inside my closet for my
most favorite purple
sparkly glitzy top from a Vegas resale shop today.
Suddenly I knew something was different.
I was not alone in my closet.
I looked down, into the yellow eyes of a sixteen foot alligator.
“Hi,” I said cheerfully, although my heart was anything but cheerful.
“Who are you?”
The gator grinned at me with all sixty-five thousand teeth.
I slammed the door shut.
Instantly regretting this.
It was a discourteous thing to do after all.
I held the door open just a tiny bit.
“Who are you?” I whispered.
No answer, but boy, did those teeth glisten in the dark! The eyes too.
“Honey,” I called to the living room.
“Honey! Honey! HONEY!”
Remembering he wears headphones so his TV does not disturb me,
I shut the door again, and wandered into my manly man's
man cave at the other end of the house.
“There is a surprise for you in my closet,” I said.
He was delighted.
“What is it?” he asked.
I had forgotten until this second it was his birthday.
Maybe I will not have to worry about forgetting to get him a present.

President Donald Trump
Such a discourteous chump
Walked ahead of the Queen
This audacious gaffe should NEVER be seen

A school in a village without any pastel –
Divine Child which never cares for riel
Strives for excellence. Does propel
The children upwards and rebel
Against injustice gigantic or sea shell;
Strives to let its stars and carvings excel
With the artistic hands of its roselle.
All play ups and disobeys did she quell
For all discourteous and insolent is knell.
Insurgencies and Illiteracy repel
As soon as they hear Divine’s yell.
She made IAS, engineer and Laurel
Who are shining brightly in parallel.
The capacity to write is more in noel
As during Christmas less is evil’s spell
And more golly and blimey impel.
She is still like a nice damoiselle
Not touched by corruption or rebel.
This is pond. In it many a Raphael
Have drowned to break a cell
From which brains emerged like sail
Which drove young minds to foretell
Their future. With Anandi ma’am’s spell
She still does prosper, flourish and excel.

The union-management talks reach stalemates in their sessions.
Our representatives are attempting to gain concessions.
If we do not obtain better working conditions and a pay hike,
we see no other alternative but to go on strike.
On the slopes of Olympus Mons, we descend underground.
Inside this mine, deposits of titanium can be found.
If we go further, we can find gold and platinum.
In abundance are other metals like silver and palladium.
There are large untapped veins we can easily see.
Industries on Earth have been grateful for their discovery.
As a result, market prices for commodities have gone down.
Our location has been a booming Martian mining town.
The way the management has treated us has been pitiful.
It seems as if they are discourteous and ungrateful.
Despite dim light in the day, and subzero temperatures at night,
I have every belief in what we are doing is right.

The mischievous Sandman runs a con game each night
After all the youngsters are safely tucked away
He dances into my room like an elfin sprite
He seizes my hand, tries to lure me outside to play
Then he’s bored on my shoulder at the computer
Threatens to throw pixie dust into sleepy eyes
Quells my muse like a discourteous intruder
I’ve attempted to handle him with a compromise
Just let my muse roam free for a couple of hours
For at this time of night, fantasies flow smoothly
But he feels the need to boast of superpowers
And when I ask for time, he glares gloomily
It’s three in the morning and I should be asleep
This nightly visitor has grown to be a pest
Distaste continues to grow for this pesky creep
And the sandman scowls when I say, “Give it a rest!”

stubborn at the most
unfortunate moments
and quick with a
flabbergasted wit
he ambushes me from
the alleys in his mind
from behind
where four strikes
are uncommon
and frequently
commented upon
let's try to ignore the
inane flattery and take
into consideration
three screwdrivers deep
the fantastic premise this
is situated upon
apart-heid
has rendered my fat
and substance unfit
avocados are for brains
still, lavender for calm
we come together
in spite of
differing points of
perspective
expatriated breaths
gasped and sighed at
in the dwelling I somehow fancied
as a home has suddenly become a
jail/reformatory/pilgrimage
a complex and refracted
reflected gallery of smiles
and countenances
not discourteous
simulateously entertained with quips
and the locking of eyes
with the neighborhood bulldog
he arrives again
with breath like linament
stale tobacco and promises
we bicker and yell
no promise as of yet has transpired
above a certain hell
of vacuous emotion
