Prayer When Discouraged
Oh Father God, I am discouraged
I want to turn back
Enough strength I lack
Oh Jesus Christ, I am discouraged
My failures are always
I'm filled with dismays
Oh Holy Spirit, I am discouraged
I'm fed up with challenges
Do not make me hopeless!

when you get discouraged
and begin to think that trying
is not worth it anymore,
look into the eyes of a child,
lose yourself in their innocence
and wonderment,
and you'll ses things in
a different light,
and understand that everything
will be alright in due time.
when you get discouraged
because the bills keep
piling up and you can't seem
to make ends meet,
look at the smile on a child's
face,
listen to their laughter,
hold them close to your heart.
It has a healing power
that is unbelievable.
when you get discouraged
and are fed up with the struggle
and don't think you can
fight anymore,
play with a child and let
their endless energy reenergize
you.
It's as simple as this,
children are our personal angels,
they ground us,
they guide us with their innocence
and their love.
when you get discouraged
take a moment to interact
with a child,
what a difference it will make.
Jaded giving up on love
a butterfly lands gently on her hand
~ suddenly she slights her doubts

from the passenger seat
she watches life
sliding past out her window.
so many u-turns
so many deadends
going the ‘long way’
driving the ‘wrong way’
and never quite ever
reaching her destination.
Poets, do not be discouraged, neither young nor old,
Uncertain verses can pierce stone, or iron,
Just believe those you love you, endure the headwinds,
To think that at the end of the sea there is America and its buffalos,
Just cross rivers with dangerous Indians,
The Amazon, the White Nile, or the great Mississippi, are friends,
Poet, do not be discouraged, do not deviate,
In front of Whitman shining in the diamond sky,
Follow your path, on the great snowy plains,
Follow your path, in the villages of Lower Brittany,
In the hotels of Sichuan, or Manaus,
Warm your heart in Calypso’s arms,
Think of Circe whose beauty poisoned Ulysses
Poet falls in love with the sea, the stars,
Do not be discouraged, Poet, you can be still and quiet like water, or
You can become a torrent in the mountains of Wyoming,
A verse is always an object of the future,
“Drop by drop, water pierces the stone.” (1)
NB (1) From Lucrèce in Montaigne les essais
Our Country stands at thee.
Freedom is victory.
A Country once known for.
Being kind and helping the poor.
A place to grow and love at your best.
Control, anger will never rest.
Until the day communication at a table.
Listening to each other and being stable.
Communication is key.
In order for things to work out successfully.
The armour, the police and possibly a whole lot more.
Causing fights, riots is unnaturally.
After two vaccines and still got very ill.
How does one feel safe for more needles or a pill.
The immune system has broken down.
No energy, often I feel like falling on the ground.
Family got vaccinated and lost her job.
My dad passed away, I still do sob.
So what else can one do but fight for freedom for all.
Before our Country hits rock bottom and we all fall.
BLACK AND I AM ALONED I AM WRONGED discouraged-
I am black
I dress urban not
I need encouragement no further embarrassments love and understanding
I am related to those races
I vacation in self
My job is withdrawn and abandonment
I desire peace, hope and love

Lament Poetry type
We tend to dwell on what we are not,
And fail to notice that which we've got.
You've talents and skills that you haven't tried,
Abilities that others have tried to belie;
Skills and strengths, imagination,
Creativeness, determination,
So many reasons to believe,
That we can actually achieve,
The things of which we've always dreamed,
Those things are closer than they seem.
In fact it's practically guaranteed,
You have it in you to succeed.
Preparation is the key.
Don't try to grasp all that you see.
One goal at a time, don't be in a hurry,
And you can avoid un-needed worry.
It's a lot of hard work and you'll feel like a drone;
But you just keep on keepin' on.
Hard to not be discouraged
When the world keeps getting in your face
Hard not to give up, give in
When you just can’t keep up the pace
More bad news
Another job lost
Just can’t keep up
With Rising costs
Not just me
It’s everyone I know
No one has answers
Or knows where to go
I want to make things simple
But my soul is too far in debt
I prayed to Jesus to help us all out
And as they say “Jesus wept”
I want to become a modern day Robin Hood
Rob the rich to give to the poor
But I’m not quite sure how to find them
Gated villages don’t allow door to door
Life isn’t fair has gone beyond cliché
Struggle seems to be the norm
Seems like even the good days
Merely disguise the ugly storm
I’ve been restricted from birth’
I was born with a leash
I’ve never been on land and I feel like a fish
Restricted like a boat caught on land
I cant float on shore because I’m stuck in the sand
Starving because of words that I ate
I can’t build a future and I can’t go on a date
I’m just an abandoned car left without rims
Even a cadaver dog can’t sniff the cent of my dreams
Dashed by my own flesh and blood
They say “Its thicker than water” but I’m stuck in the mud
My success is unfair to them’ and I don’t belong
So I decided to write this poem’ but it won’t to be long
Sometimes I wish I could swap with someone in prison
Because I’ve been stuck in this pit for long & I’m freezing
Restricted, by my own fear, to utter the whole story
Frightened by the servants who gave the devil glory
We tend to dwell on what we're not,
And fail to notice what we've got;
Skills and Strengths, imagination,
Creativeness, determination;
So many reasons to believe,
That we can actually achieve,
The things of which we've always dreamed.
Those things are closer than they seem.
In fact it's practically guaranteed,
You have it in you to succeed.
You've talents and skills that you haven't tried,
Abilities others have tried to belie.

Don't try to grasp all that you see.
One goal at a time, don't be in a hurry,
And you'll avoid un-needed worry.
It's a lot of hard work and you'll feel like a drone,
But you just have to keep on keepin' on.
You have to have stick-to-it-tive-ness.
It's the key to your goal, it's the key to success.
THE DISCOURAGED SOLDIER
I stood there on the battlefield as a soldier brave and true,
I tried to be so brave like them, but I became so blue
As I saw soldiers fall behind and quit the battle cry,
And I began to ask myself what was the reason why.
I thought these people were so strong and never call it lost,
But one by one they left the cause, said it was not worth the cost.
“I might as well give up now, too,” I found myself then say
As sunset loomed there in the sky of yet another day.
But then I saw my Captain there so wounded from the war,
And yet was willing to go out and fight again once more.
I knew how much He had endured: rejection by His own,
And crucified upon a cross and left there all alone.
He did not give up, hanging there, until the war was won,
And, “It is finished” was His cry when the battle all was done.
I went back to the battle field determined to fight more
Until the victory cry is heard and all life’s battles o’er.
she reached out
wanting to shout
but he wasn't there
she thought he didn't care
a silent scream
a bitter dream
could not cope
lost all hope
she went away
he hoped she'd stay

Her wish can never be.
She blows out birthday candles with effort.
Scarcely holding back the tears.

He’s a beaten man
His shoulders rounded
From the throes of life
From disappointment
To disillusion
His eyes sunk and sallow
His voice weak and hollow
His joy long lost
Along with everything else
That makes life worth living
He’s given up
Can’t take any more
But still standing
