That’s why I’m not too discouraged
at Farragut’s poor performance at
this weekend’s Scholars’ Bowl tournament
for those who beat us were
memorizing lists of important names
rather than putting
themselves on the list
Thusly
A thought
The first letter
A sentence ensues
The paragraph develops
A chapter has been inscribed
The new story can be ascertained
A position on the bookshelf is reserved
The copywriter will never be discouraged
I shed my tears to Jesus
Like pearls , He found them special
He gathers every one of them
and stores them in a vessel.
Now when I am discouraged
and when I start to cry,
I can smell a scent of Tear perfume
as Jesus passes by
from the passenger seat
she watches life
sliding past out her window.
so many u-turns
so many deadends
going the ‘long way’
driving the ‘wrong way’
and never quite ever
reaching her destination.
The music muted
the poetry has disintegrated

The beauty flower withered
my soul cried
