Can you dig it?
Dig...black soil, stone. earth worms wiggle, decayed bones
Dig... scatter seeds there, sprouting, searching sun and air
Dig ...to hide our dead, six feet under, body bed
Dig...shovel and spade, flowers grow from planted pain
Dig...out of this hole, skin so pale and Icy cold
Dig...deep down inside, reveal secrets graveyards hide

I DIG U THE MOST
(Lights dim/ A single spotlight illuminates a figure standing center stage/ A beat drops - a simple, soulful bass line/
The figure leans into the mic/
East Village cafe, brick walls whisperin' low, Steam rising from a cup of joe/
But it ain't the caffeine, no, and it ain't the joe, It's you, baby,

Dig Your Grave
We stand outside the inn
Arua is a kiln
We crawl back in
But we know no kin
Mungu ni mukee!
Bawls Pastor Paddy
From the inside of a robot
Mazarau's robot
When we look outside
and can barely view any clouds
We know this is no place
for normal sons of men

Dig deeper
Who in truth we are, we know not,
no wonder then, we are fear fraught,
since it's certain we will soon die,
reducing consciousness to naught.
Save in moments when love draws nigh,
we rarely reach bliss rapture's high,
drifting rudderless in the void,
nurturing thoughts that makes heart sigh.
Day and night, by dark desires toyed,
negating truths sung by Pink Floyd,
we ponder

Archaeological Dig
it was a day
not unlike this one
when an archaeologist
… sore knees
… paint brush
… Friday fingernails
held my earthen skull
in his hands
and spared me a thought
his dirt-stained eyes
filling my empty sockets
and
for a speck
of epochal dirt
neither of us
heard the sun

A Wounded Hope
My beautiful diamond where have you been?
Is it hard to search for you out and in?
I know you're not in the sky,
For you have no wings to fly
Yet hiding in a place away from my face
Is it too tough to reach to your place?
I dig the earth, i plough the field
Yet no sign of you

Can Ya Dig It
Wrinkled clothes stacked near my ironing board
will just lie there, completely ignored
‘cause today I’ll be groovin’.
To the oldies I’m movin’
like a teen to the hits most adored.

To earthen goals they can defeat.
While few rise above the horizon,
With constant volleys they can repeat.

Lai Dig
playing in the dirt
better than dessert
fun toys
starting to exert
sweating through my shirt
life’s joys
don’t want to get hurt
better stay alert
whoa, boys!

Sabbath
His nails have dug into his palms;
they do that kind of thing.
It's only when he's hearing psalms,
and hearing others sing.
"Oh why, dear God?" he says on Sunday,
knowing there's no lord.
"I do so wish to get to Monday,
feel no longer bored."
Yet he will know, when starting Monday,
working now for six,
the seventh day will be a Sunday
