Premium MemberThis Wandering Mind

How shall I deal with this wandering mind?
Meandering through a meadow of ideas,
Seeking truth among noxious weeds I find

Since early childhood I have been curious
Always sifting through my brain’s cogitations
Accepting new concepts; discarding previous,

Tossing thoughts like a machine’s agitations
Chewing on choices of words, so indecisive,
Practicing precise grammar with conjugations.

Fending off debaters who are often derisive
Debunking theories that sound far-fetched,
While trying not to be obnoxiously divisive.

How far should an agile mind be stretched?
Let it go unchallenged and it becomes static
Drifts into rumor, relishes meaningless kvetch.

I choose to allow my mind access to the attic,
Considering all the randomness that intrudes
To avoid, as much as I can, becoming dogmatic!

Premium MemberCandice Is a Candid Candidate

Candice is a candid candidate.
Her honesty harvests heretics’ hate
Not to be outdone
She creates lots of fun
Debunking deceivers during Des Moines’ Debate!

Premium MemberCancelling Christmas

I can picture a reindeer all harnessed and hitched
I can understand the concept of jolly old St. Nick,
I can listen to Christmas carols playing all day long
But reports of cancelling Christmas make me sick!
Yearly some grinches delight in debunking Christmas
With upsetting stories appearing in the news on TV
But what they plan to accomplish by this deception
Muddies my reception and remains a mystery to me.

Symposia

My symposia welcomes you
On Texans' incessant bragging
Examples are far from lagging
As we examine this strange trait

We look at the geography
As seen through the egos extant
Then explain this absurd new slant
That the state contains the North Pole

A new perspective will arise
In debunking this local lore
An education is in store
From this brilliant New Yorkers mind

The Birth and Rebirth In a New Dawn

Steam driven ashes and lava from volcanoes
Obscure tomorrows
Exploding from bean pods and tomatoes
Beseeching and seeking halos

Our lives require
To earn a rebirth
Inspire and inquire
Whether a new berth

Becomes of the essence
In the path the future offers
Despite the intensive care unit defence
Happiness in bloom proffers

To decrease the harm
Self destruction and self deceit
Can inflict when calm
Vanishes into the precinct whose welcome receipt

Determines if our happiness hangs on the thread
Lost in the complexity and cohesion in the spiderweb
Enmeshed in the labyrinth whose bedstead
Holds the secret to our arrival and survival on the World Wide Web

Where happiness navigates
Searching for you and I
Not as surrogates at Sorrows’ Gates
But as equal partners in debunking a fatal lie.

Premium MemberCliches Debunked

To 'ride on somebody's coat tails'
Is the most dangerous thing you can do
'Keep a stiff upper lip' is another cliché
Mine's not stiff, how about you?

'One good turn deserves another'
Turns my stomach if you must ask
'There's no fool like an old fool'
I'm quite offended by the last

'Sticks and stones will break my bones'
Can break someone's heart as well
So if somebody up and says this to you
Tell them to go straight to hell

'A penny for your thoughts' is yet another
That's pretty damn cheap I'd say
A dollar would certainly be more in line
With the times we live in today

'A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush'
Who made up this silly old verse
A bird in the hand is quite messy I'd say
Poop on your fingers or worse

So I've come to the obvious conclusion
Concerning the debunking of clichés
Refuse to use 'em coz people abuse 'em
You'll wind up much happier I say

Delusional

There once was a nutter quite frightful
Who spent so much time being spiteful
   When confronted with truth
   Completely debunking her sleuth
She barreled into delusions most delightful!

Stand Up Tall and Be Counted

Stand up tall and be counted,
join the mighty force.
Make sure to be united,
so there is no remorse.

Take a bible in your hand,
swear unto God up above.
Tell others of your stand,
and His mighty, mighty love.

Stand up tall and be counted,
join the hallowed rehearsed.
Follow the Lord, undaunted,
debunking all sinners first.

Take up the sword of justice,
protedt hordes along the way.
Heartfelt yells of gustiness,
when Jesus leads the way.

Stand up and be counted,
join the heavenly source.
Obey His simple commands,
stay on Gods destined course.

The Offering

With her barbed wire stare
Rusty braids of disheveled hair
She offered me a dash of hate

With her wrinkled upper lip
Clenched fists on unwanted hips
She offered me a teaspoon of hate

With shards of light debunking night
Sharpening temptation with psychotic spite
She offered me a tablespoon of hate

With her bare feet carving the kitchen floor
Bludgeoning my shadow beneath the door
She offered me an ounce of hate

With roses concealing my protruding hand
Redolent with forgiveness and all that is man
She offered me…a glass of wine
