Day's End
At the day's end in that bit of light
Before slipping into the night
I look out over the land
Watching the birds with their departing planned
Then for a while it's quiet as the smudges of night take over the sky
And with its last breath the day says goodbye
As the birds settle in
Their night songs begin
One to the next in a gentle sweep
A call, a warble, a chirp, or a peep
As they relax into the nights ancient stand
The stars twinkle amid the dapples of a moonlit splendor's brand
Myself safe at home
Ready for my rest after the days roam
Of spires of timbers tall,
mountains in the beauty of ancient.
The eagle’s flight takes my earthly breath,
as Native American spirit tales whisper
in the cool misty valley.
Lakes blue mirror the changing clouds,
sunlight dapples gold in the pine straw,
the deer with their grace.
I see my children the howling wolves,
their gray shadows loping through the
forest with their young.
Lumbering grizzlies dine on berries,
their cubs curious climbing a small
tree.
A hum of honeybees bobbing on
blooms.
Sierra Club is made up of so many
environmentalists to heal the
hurting earth.
Another generation joins in the cause
of her survival and a love for her.
The afternoon becomes a purple and
pink twilight,
crickets begin a starry song rising so
eloquent,
as the bats welcome night’s hunting,
with a whoosh of myriads of wings.
Thank you, Sierra Club,
this senior is proud to be a member. ~
slivers of sunlight
break through the window blinds
then dance on the wall
birds begin their morning songs
as light dapples through the trees
1-2- 2026
I step beyond my front door, shoes brushing dew
And the air is crisp, familiar-something old, something new.
The sky unfolds in pale gold, the sparrows sing the same tune,
And I swear, I've wandered here before, beneath the waking moon.
Sunlight dapples over lawns just as it always does,
Neighbors wave, dogs bark, the world's gentle hum abuzz.
Every scent, each rustle, is a whisper from the past:
The rustling trees greet me-echoes that forever last.
My feet trace the sidewalk cracks, memory's soft parade,
I know the way the breeze feels, the shifting light and shade.
Deja vu in every heartbeat, in every glance I steal-
It seems, like yesterday, this day was wholly real.
Yet, as I wander outward, with wonder and with grace,
I find new meaning hidden in every time-worn place.
Perhaps I've lived this day before, or dreamed it in the night,
But outside, in the morning sun, the world feels just as right.
Watching the Wake
The river serenity incarnate.
Water a liquid mirror holding sky, trees
Light falling, late summer eve perfection.
We smoothly glide along in the small boat
With old friends,
Saying nothing.
Looking behind us all the way
For hours, fascinated
I study how our wake unfolds behind us
From tossing turbulence
To a small and perfect wave behind that,
Curling at the ends just so,
Light falling into those curls
As though it were obsidian being shaved,
Short straight dapples across its ever forming edge
Then behind that
A nearly flat wider wave
Fans out to vanish into the river.
There's a lot of great art being made by this,
I think
So simple
So beautiful
Eternal, transient.
So it goes with us,
I feel
Our lives are our constant art,
Unfolding without plan.
Autumn
colors the leaves;
as Nature's brush dapples
inks of cerise, yellow, and gold
on a canvas of green with orange tints;
adorning the tops of the trees.
No season besides Spring,
can compete with
Autumn.
Fresh spots of violet creak through the sky
Silently, violently assaulting the eye
Lavenders blush in the sweetest of hue
Spring has arrived with the calmness of blue
Soft summer rain dapples the floor
Raindrops like diamonds on the old barnyard door
The orange of sunset, as the dragonflies glow
And the mesmerised sounds, as the young cattle low
Warm autumn apples fall from the bough
To be sprinkled with honey for the fattening sow
Pumpkins erupt in shimmering gold
As the sheep return leisurely to the warmth of the fold
Crisp winter cold is dark and succinct
Foreboding clouds all around, as the sun is extinct
The jingle of sleigh bells can be heard up ahead
As the enveloping stillness leads you to bed
Sunlight in a blue sky
Dapples in and out of cottony grey clouds
Warming then soothing in turn
Two retiring humans under a tree
Amid a hundred shades of green
As a large yellow monarch
The king of insects
Glides and flutters by
With a sense of purpose and delicate grace
In perfect juxtapose.

What a cameo in the hot harmattan eve !
Sweet soursop scents marinated with the haze
And all the other ones impasse in my qui vive .
Words became satisfying minting juice ,
Black with currents ,mingled bittersweet after
Soft like lush ripe and delicious in undying truth .
But In this colorful world of pines and apples ,
With the sour and the dapples between the toil
We will weather the rains and dry foggy nights .
In all laughter and of youthful lovers delight ,
Not of science of apples falling for clues
Nor of religion with the doom preceding the bite .
But with all hope hope from a trampled rose ,
Earnestly rooting for the hazelnuts
Swinging between the canes of sugars and beats.
As it touches the ground like a whispered prayer,
With heaven's own sacramental wine
Wholesome and pristine “
Five centimeters beneath the dangling papayas ,
under a starry night gaze with splendor
Can you see how vividly the moonlight scrawls the pomegranate.
Beneath moist soils with seeded holes !
Hold your grounds your sprouting melon
So here’s to your juice you amazing Tangelo
Hold your grounds with bunches of love .
Spirals of trails from wandering snails,
Dapples of white and pink petals,
Imprints of pattering puppy paws
Adorned the path that we walked.
The art was most masterful on the dark pavement;
Patterns of nature installed.
Beneath the city's concrete canopy,
Sunlight filters through the urban sprawl.
A dance of shadows on an asphalt stage,
Nature latent in the midst of it all.
Pillars of industry made of glass and steel,
Create an artificial forest, towering high.
Still, within the gaps, light seeps through,
A modern echo of the open sky.
Within the hustle, a subtle interlude,
Komorebi dapples through the city's veins.
A moment of calm in the urban pulse,
Nature reclaiming what cement restrains.
Crystal leaves and chrome branches intertwine,
Casting patterns on sidewalks below.
A concert of sunlight and structures behold,
A harmonious blend of ebb and flow.
In these quiet pockets, a sanctuary found,
Where sunlight dances and leaves unbound,
Komorebi, a tranquil urban hymn,
Nature's language beneath city's din.
"Every leaf speaks bliss to me,
fluttering from the autumn tree."
Quote by _ Emily Bronte
Autumn brings enchanting dapples and hues,
with each tremble and each fluttering breeze;
I love a walk to look at all the views,
the bright red, yellow, gold, and orange trees !
It makes me feel like God has been painting,
with strokes of color created for me;
all the trees with sweet vibrant paints staining,
I am in a lovely dream filigree !
The smell of decay a sweet divine scent,
it drifts and is quite intoxicating;
that smell of fermenting I will lament,
the odor of Autumn captivating !
Oh, it only stays for a few short weeks;
but, is magical with its sublime streaks !
long stretched-out nights shrink
icicles melt drip by drip...
wild geese honk in flight
pushing through the snow
shoots rise up toward the sun...
crocuses sprouting
green dapples the trees
winter slowly slips away...
short days grow longer
a change in seasons
life gets rejuvenated...
color’s replenished
harbingers of spring...
songbirds sweetly sing
Sweet dreams flap the wings on the vast sky
Petals of the soft lips compose the whisper
Rising rainbow hails the smiling green heart
Elopements of the feelings build the bridge
Arrow of Cupid plucks the honeycomb duly
Dahlia dapples the twilight to unites eyeing
Inner chamber of love waits for the carnival
Nimbi of the soulful nectar lift up the tears
Gently we enjoy the divine milieu at present
Hub of our heart there is the root of loving life
Absolve from the alone sigh to adapt the peace
Peddling the oar of conjugal boat on the ocean
Passage of the passion-flower greet to revitalize
Ignite the starry night through the moonlit kiss
Name the momentum the Eudaimonia happiness
Each, we can enchant the life together with unity
Sacrificing the slavish ego come to worship love
Spread the fragrance wind to wind to be happy

On a sunny Spring day,
songbirds sing their sweet songs,
while the wildflowers bloom.
And pink apple blossoms,
release a sweet perfume.
On a sunny Spring day
Nature smells fresh and clean,
like a tropical breeze.
And green inks every scene,
even the tops of trees.
On a sunny Spring day,
dandelion seeds spread
ubiquitous flowers.
And yellow dapples lawns,
drenched by April showers.
On a sunny Spring day,
Robin redbreasts start to
build nests of straw and earth.
And all Nature's creatures
celebrate Spring's rebirth.
