Based on artwork of Sabrina Alvar
In this verdant forest,
I have a front view
to a stream of blue
and I sit surrounded
by pretty little flowers
My trunk is broad
and ivy adorns it
Not but five feet from
the ground,
my lower body has split
and it’s as if
my upper body
has parted in
opposite directions
consisting of
two GIANT arms
reaching outward
and upward,
fashioning
a circle which has left
a huge and empty
space
a happy place
where one may
climb onto my trunk
and use it as a seat!
A woman sits here now
She faces the stream
as clouds in azure sky
pass on by
Small leaves like streamers
dangle
from where
my large limbs came together
at the top
A small rabbit
stares out from
the hollow in my trunk.
I offer all creatures
my comfort
and a green
enchanting view.
Just call me
a cozy tree
My blanket wraps me tight
and snuggles me,
It keeps me warm all through
the night,
Until the morning brings the
the first bright light.
Inside this painted room
the lamplight pools like honey on the floorboards,
softening every corner into a place
where the world cannot intrude.
A kettle hums its small, steady song,
and the window holds a square of winter
like a memory pressed behind glass.
The colors breathe warmth
reds deep as hearth embers,
yellows that feel like held hands,
browns worn smooth by years of belonging.
Even the shadows seem gentle here,
as if they’ve learned to rest
instead of reaching for anything.
A chair waits by the fire
stitched with the quiet patience
of someone who mends more than fabric.
A book lies open on the armrest,
its pages curved like a sigh,
as though the reader stepped out
only long enough to feed the birds.
Holodook’s world holds stillness
the kind that remembers
how to cradle a life gently~
a place where nothing is hurried,
where warmth is not a luxury
but a way of seeing.
Inside this cozy, painted room,
even the silence feels like home.
Moonbeams glow as I sing
you to sleep,
Over the treetops where
quiet stars peep,
Ocean of dreams are now
ready for you,
Nighttime has painted the
sky a deep blue,
Shut your sweet eyes until
morning shines through.
With shimmering wings and
a wand of bright gold,
A beautiful fairy tale waits to
unfold.
She sprinkles her dust as she
tells of a brave knight,
Then tucks you in cozy and
turns down the light.
Goodnight, little dreamers,
sleep tight until dawn.
outside the bedroom
of my old, old, old apartment
is a cozy small balcony I created for
relaxing my mind can rest and go
where it will to places unexpected
I can spend hours in the shade of day
at my little table with plants here and there
perhaps with a cup of tea
or petting the cat or maybe reading a book
often in the evening I light candles
to create a mood . . . cozy
A cozy winter morning at home with Mom,
She hums a familiar tune as she tinkers
Around the room preparing tea and toast
As she has for all the mornings of my life,
Outside the snowflakes fall blanketing the world in white~
For a moment I am home again
The carolers have left the lawn,
the final party guest is gone,
the heavy parlor drapes are drawn,
the hearth's alight with wood you've sawn
I've changed to flannel from chiffon,
your tie is off, your slippers on,
there's wine left in the demijohn,
and toast points spread with fine cretons
We fall back on the silk divan
and maul the tray of snacks thereon,
you raise your glass to hide a yawn,
the last act in the denouement
The air now chill, the fire wan,
we should have long ago withdrawn
but sleep delays us there 'til dawn,
deep in the chaise we lay upon
Little Miss Muffet ran away with the spoon
and a bowl of curds and whey
but it's no mystery as the rest is history
for she began a business on the self-same day
first on the card came cottage cheese
now it's plain to see how and why
then her company soon had a hasty addition
when the lady made tasty cottage pie
for one so young to start such an enterprise
successful and spider-free
it comes as no surprise
hers was a cozy cottage industry
blue bird cozy nest
she loves her cozy snag home
so lovely cute house
swinging in autumnal wind
sweet neat night dear lovely bird
Crimson leaves whisper—
Rain softens the fire’s warm glow...
Autumn holds my book.
I'm comfy as can be
As long as I have my teacup
And my favourite cozy blanket

Isn’t it odd?
All of the little things
that remain in our
little brains?
One day, you’ll
be walking down the
street, just minding your
own business, when suddenly
you’ll stop.
A sight,
A sound,
A scent,
A memory,
Something you have
never seen, heard, smelt,
or even experienced before
will catch your incomplete attention
so completely.
And send you to
the most magical of
places.
Something from your
childhood,
Something from the
small town you drove through
last autumn.
Something from that
department store shelf
at that street corner you
never thought you’d actually
go to. But then you did.
Something from
a bad day.
Something from a
good one.
All of that energy,
all of that time,
and still, I can’t
put a name to what
that feeling is.
Nostalgia?
No, it goes
deeper than
that.
Much, much
deeper.
After a bit, you’ll
wonder a while,
and then you’ll simply
move on.
Maybe all it is was
grief expressed purely.
Because living
in a world where
things are so temporary
is a bittersweet thing.
Better times,
worse times,
doesn’t matter.
It all
sticks
around.
Faith’s cozy cottage
lies deep in the woods
Beckons trembling hearts
to partake of her Goods
Allays palpitations
assuages all fears
As she calms, as she tames
fresh rivers of tears
cozy house one room
upstairs, nice kitchen downstairs
sea in front of you
behind is so rich green farm
mountains on right desert left
