Faith’s cozy cottage
lies deep in the woods
Beckons trembling hearts
to partake of her Goods
Allays palpitations
assuages all fears
As she calms, as she tames
fresh rivers of tears
comfy cozy cold
watching winter wonderlands
snuggled softly still

Placed 3'rd...Thank You
flame bright hearth crackle
winter night temperature fall
friendship quilt wrapper
Waking up at 3am
Yearning a touch
Soft and kind and oh so right
Still dark
Dark obsidian dust
Sparkling in the dark
Feels like a dream
But remembers
The hands held
His scent
Faintly lingering
In the smoke of
Burning cigarettes
How decadently
Oh so sweet
That Post song
Still playing
In my head
Both singing the words
Everything
Oh so natural
It wasn't just
A spark
It was more
It was
The warm cozy fire
Burning over the logs
I knew I was
Finally home
At last
You don’t need a log on a fire.
You don’t need a soft sheepskin rug;
Just a comfortable place
That you’ve made your own space
And, if lucky, a smile or a hug.
Forget all those candles and dimmers
Or potpourri wafting above;
When you’re home in your nest
What most people like best
Is to know you’re surrounded by love.
Some days, the world outside is too bright
And the thought of facing it gives me a fright
A cozy day inside of my room
Would be the cure against certain doom
Bundled up beneath soft covers
Me and my stuffed animals, cuddled like lovers
The lights are dim to relax my eyes
And my body is curled on the bed to lie
Life is hard to face all alone
A cozy day inside will help to atone
Shush now and calm your racing mind
Feel the sound of your heart beating, and what inside you will find
In just a blink, it's just past eight
Eyes are heavy, sealing sleep as fate
So next time you feel like life is unbearable
A cozy day inside of your room is ineffable
Im going to lay down for a while
Will you cuddle with me?
Face to face, soulful smiles
Eyes connected, looking deep
I touch your hair and face
Your hand upon my chest
Marvel at this sacred space
As we touch and stare and rest
Warm hand on my tummy
Penetrates my whole body
Filled with feelings oh so yummy
Safe, secure, adored, carefree
As we lay in comfort sleepy
Wrapped in arms soft and tight
Without a word you read me
We close our eyes for the night
The sun is shining, not a cloud up above
How could life be any better
Good health and the love of a very sweet lady
Life is like a warm cozy sweater
Rainy days can't even bring down my spirits
I'm meant to live life on a high
I see nothing but positive signs every day
Of love and bright sunny skies
This can't be true, I've heard people say
One can't be upbeat every day
Once in a while, there gotta be sad things
You encounter along the way
Of course they're right, but the difference is
I don't let them get me down
They are all a part of this thing we call living
It's my choice to smile not frown
The sun is shining, not a cloud up above
How could life be any better
Good health and the love of a very sweet lady
Life is like a warm cozy sweater

Come over here, my sweetie pie.
Tell your honey what’s wrong.
I sense you're sad, but this is me.
You don’t have to act so strong.
I’ve been down here in the kitchen
Just waiting for you, honey ‘chile.
Come here and take a load off.
Stay with me, babe, for a while.
I’m having a midnight snack;
Hot cocoa with whipping cream.
Why don’t you join me, Sugar?
Please sit and chat with me.
I know you are feeling downhearted.
But I’m happy you finally came down.
Let me fix you a bit to eat,
For I so hate to see you frown.
If you’d rather, just lay your head on my lap.
Tell mama your every woe.
Go ahead, Sweetheart, let it out.
Let those demons just go.
Are you feeling better now, darling?
I see you are eyeing that cake!
Insomnia got us both, but now
I’m enjoying being awake.
Now that you finally came out of your shell
And shared what was making you blue,
I could stay up all night until dawn, dear,
As long as I stayed here with you.
The sun is shining, not a cloud up above
How could life be any better
Good health and the love of a very sweet lady
Life is like a warm cozy sweater
The rain can't even dampen my spirits
I'm meant to live life on a high
I see nothing but positive signs every day
Of love and bright sunny skies
This can't be true, I've heard people say
One can't always be upbeat every day
Once in a while, there's gotta be sad things

I don't let these things get me down
They are all a part of this thing we call living
It's my choice to smile, not frown
The sun is shining, not a cloud up above

Cozy On The Universe
In the middle of the room, in the middle of a thought
In the middle of the mind, in the afternoon, in kitchen
The universe intruded through the walls
Without knocking it simply imposed itself
No respect for doors or protocols
The moment came with calm
No particular reason comes to mind, why
Time and space and matter, have a warm spot in my heart
Have always been my home away from home
I took a moment to let the giant in
With all its molecules in place
But only for a moment
Then asked it to go away, since
It was tea time
The universe will always be there out in space
But not my cup of tea
No need to drink it rapidly
It too has a warm spot in my heart
As welcomed company
People come to tell me your weaknesses
They come with a list of vices and faults
When they are done, I laughed out their meanness
But they make me love you more for your faults.
Our relationship assigned forever
The will stamped and signed, never to depart
We ought to love in fair or foul weather
We may retract the heart though cannot part.
Our love is priced more than the world can hold
A vast reservoir, the rivers can’t slake
We have built such secrecy quite controlled
Our manners will overcome if there’s slack.
Let’s us be patient in love while we live
When we’re no more, forever we may live.

Sea lion's nestling,
atop the rocky summit;
awaiting its mate
When the weather outside gets too cold
And temperatures of zero unfold
Get cozy by the fire
With the one you desire
And let romance blaze bold
