Coldest Poems

Calm Waters, Safe Harbour

I've been to a few strange places in my day
some hotter than the hottest spot on the sun
some colder than the coldest crater on the moon
and all the while I was looking for someone
looking here looking there I was searching everywhere
now I found you you are the one my searching days are done
for my heart made up its mind to love you
when we were oceans apart and worlds away
took a boat across the water and yet
I don't regret a single day
no more cloudy skies had more than my fair share
love will prevail now I've found a haven in a heart that cares
as you'll be my shelter from a storm warning
(calm waters, safe harbour)
you'll see me through to a new day's dawning
I'll pass on the weatherman I forecast my sun shining
don't need my fortune read I foresee a silver lining
yes I've done some crazy things in my lifetime
been to hell and all the way to the back of beyond
with not even a handbasket to carry me there
and all the time I was searching for someone

Core Coldest

Rhythm, rhyme, and resonance.
Riddle, riffle through.
Red run roundabout? Last chance.
Buried deep in blue.

Stifle, sound of silence?
Better not ask why.
Victory bequeaths violence!
Somebody must die!

Pool up, silk thread, on my spool.
Thunder, fly at once.
Help the boy to keep it cool!
Goblin, grinning, guns!

Tyrant of the ancient waste?
How does success taste?
O ye virgins, art thou chaste?
Turkey legs a-baste!

Lobbied for, O hobby? When?
Now or then again?
Gods of death, a death! Try ten.
Dragon, from thy den...

Rattlesnake, thy timber.
Cone of volcano.
Hurry, Blizzard! Cause shiver!
Bloom, thy bungalow.

Dun the skies on Martian soil.
Fate, must we embroil?
O ye serpents, thus to coil!
Water hot to boil...

Figure eight? It's gotten late.
All men hate to wait.
Cross the desert or the strait?
Limestone gone to plate!0

Premium MemberThe Coldest Winter In Michigan

It was the coldest winter I have met and survived to speak about.
In Michigan, at a friend’s house, only maybe she was not a friend.
I had no idea she would turn on me, and become ugly with words.
There was no place to go; this was a country home, and I was on foot.
The snow was piling up hard and fast. The wind chill was ridiculous.
I tried a few times to apologize, without knowing what I had done.
Di did not return to school. In silence her mom drove me back.
Di seemed depressed and despondent. I never heard from her again.

Premium MemberThe Warmest and Coldest Season

It is December and a soft snow is falling,
Christmas lights are all around,
Red, green and white decorations are enthralling,
Angelic carols abound,

A warm fire is burning, I'm as snug as can be,
With hot eggnog in my hand,
A star shines on top of the sparkling Christmas tree,
Cheer spreading throughout the land,

Cookies, plum cakes and pies, so many things to bake,
Launch into them happily,
Loving greetings, presents and memories to make,
I cherish my family,

December is the coldest and warmest season,
Winter outside, love inside,
The birth of Jesus Christ is the happy reason,
I love this month and Yuletide.

Coldest Heart

Trust is something I never knew
I learned along the way
Trust is not given
Opportunities don't come everyday
I learned my wisdom hard knocks
My ice would not melt
Could I go through life not trusting
Is the feeling even real
What happens to the woman who cries
Only to weep
Others seem not care
But my coldest heart I keep

In the Darkest and Coldest World

In the darkest and coldest world
one can find a flickering flame,
never allowed to shine brightly and widely
and break the macabre darkness;
nothing could escape from here,
from its torturous and squalid abyss...
where each demon has a frown of austerity:
ah, in this obscure confinement, I'd be afraid!

In the darkest and coldest world
the isolation is unbearably horrid;
bats constantly squeak to scare off owls that coo,
hunters hear their scary sound and speedily shoot;
nobody shows compassion for the ugly creatures
that only seek warm blood to feed their bellies!

In the darkest and coldest world
demons obey their master Lucifer,
he controls them with his menacing looks
and they dare not speak a rebellious word;
this Fallen Angel with extreme handsomeness
was thrown down to beautiful Earth
from Heaven until he would complete his wrath:
don't be prey to this vicious captor!

In the darkest and coldest world
nobody is free to breathe air and to rebel,
to plot and seek revenge in unescapable Hell;
and being doomed to obedience, there's no will
to compromise, any disorder is harshly punished
by a thousand lashes that make the flesh bleed!

Who Am I

I being threatened to smile
But why you been telling me to cry
The thing that keeps me guessing is why
Not to keep the one who’s sly
At least he knows how to reply
Because world is a cruel piece to cry
The man, woman and all thereby
Are meant to hurt you and will try
They complement to make you weep and hype
Until you become the coldest one to fight
They tell you then to be the life
Of someone who doesn’t mind
But they keep pushing you to the side
To let you down in the grey and white
It is now your struggle to bring it right
Of what’s inside your head and thrice
Call your inner one to spikes
And tell them you are here to thrive
And show them this is WHO AM I

Effect of the Coldest Days

On colder days,
         in the cold affliction,
         even the sun seeks
         tropical air,,,
         The moon poor girl,
         looks for shelter
         even on the thresholds...
         Me simple mortal
         dependent on them,
         retain shaking
         of fear and chilly... !

Hurt In the Coldest Night

The cold hands of the night crept in from the walls,
But hurts like the slave master's steel,
And still, the shivers building up around my spine stung from within my glommy soul,
Shattering my nerves and rib cage,
Leaving me like a broken detached segment of glasses.

A drowsy murmur floats on the air like thistledown,
Killing me softly,
Like a giant galleon overhead,
Looking like some misty monster of the deep,
An implacable foe, imminent and overmastering peril.

I lacked the soothing warm heart of a companion,
To hold me close and chase my fears,
In a tone of unconditional love and satisfaction,
I'm ardently and enthusiastically convinced,
It's my choice, based not on a fundamental error,
In a lonely and darkest hour of the night,
Where there was no love found and no love lost.

The Coldest Muse

Married to his writing,
  divorced from carnal love

The bodies flesh a token,
  his words to rise above

All younger men still captive,
  as lust demands anew

His passion burning molten hot
  —to bed the coldest Muse

Premium MemberThe Coldest Day

My son & grandson are moving
Colorado… It’ll take half a day
Three hours late, just starting the trip
One I don't wish to take anyway

Meandering through the peaks of the Rockies
The temperature plummets outside
Driving through rain, sleet & snow
Has made for a treacherous ride

Upon leaving my loved ones behind
These tears… so freely they fall
There’s ice on the windshield & roads
But my heart feels the cold most of all

My world has just turned upside down
Son & grandson… so far away
Waves of emotions overwhelm
It’s truly been The Coldest Day

Coming out of a cold season
Which I admire
Going into a warmer season
Causing me to perspire

But I do desire this warmer season
I claim and commit to spring
Speaking of a seasonal special emotion
The next season causes me to have

A melt down of considerable disposition
And yes, cook an egg on the hood
Of your car. Even to hot to barbeque.
I'll take that cue excuse me.

I despise the season, SIZZLING
SUMMER, when cold lemonade is
Worth more than a fifty dollar bill.
I'm liable to stick my head

Inside of a grocery store freezer
As the store clerk says chill man its
Not that bad.
Perspiration touching the eyeballs burning.

Hungry for the coldest winter, yearning for
A crystal clear tall glass of frigid AIR!
there's a boiling point of perspiration in creases
I never knew I had.

Where is the first snow flake I'm wishing for?

The Coldest Winter

each day I look into your eyes
and a stranger meets my gaze
slowly I've come to realize
there's nothing in that hazel haze
not a single trace of love
nor the slightest sliver of passion
only the cold push and shove
      of today's emotionless fashion
and the darkest storm cloud
settles heavily upon my heart
my grieving soul screams aloud
as the lightning of my love for you rips me apart
